Japanese crowd rather listen to the performer when they hit the high notes and those runs rather than screaming right before they even sing it and make the performers voice inaudible.
Daniel that's how the Japanese are. They think it's more respectful and reasonable to be quiet to enjoy the performance rather than screaming or yelling.
The exact opposite of Brazilians, we sing as loud as we can, so that the singer feels comfortable and that's how you know that we love them. I guess cultures are very different.
Having lived in Japan for twenty years, I can tell you that the more a Japanese crowd loves an artist, the quieter they'll get, because they want to respect each note. They don't want to mitigate the experience for themselves or anyone else.
