The biggest tip on my weight loss journey has been to make my meals special,...even when in a deficit, by using seasonings, low cal sauces and flavour extracts. When I'm not eating the high calorie foods, its important to make my meals look fancy and indulgent because this is my new lifestyle so I can't treat it like punishment. It has to taste good and I can't feel deprived or it won't last. A few extra minutes and a few calories in low cal seasonings and sauces keeps me on track and makes me look forward to my next meal. 140 lbs down since December 2020 and you, Louise, Scott (RIP) and other's have taught me so much. I truly owe my success this far to you all. You all have made this easier than I ever imagined it to be and I am so happy with myself. Thanks. To all those that think that they can't do it,...if I can, you can. I'm a 3 time cancer survivor with a hypoactive thyroid and nerve damage from chemotherapy, so I am not as active as many are. I had every reason to stay overweight in my circumstances, but I decided to use my fitness pal and watch youtube fitness influencers for ideas on what to do and it has worked for me so far. I'm not wasting a second of my 2nd chance at life. Just start today,...don't wait. You can do it.
Overthinking things and making it too complicated definitely can be counterproductive. Do what works for you, what works for one individual may not work for another.
I lost around 31 lbs or 14 kg in 40 days With a diet of 1000kc first it went well I woke up at 4am ran 10kms And doing 3 30min workouts trough the day 7 days a week no rest but then it went downhill extremely fast Thanks for this im going to try again with a healthy diet and rest days i did regain the 31lbs in the meanwhile
I think that is a great new goal as before you weren't eating enough to support the amount of exercise you were doing. Jonathan speaks about this in previous videos. Use the calorie calculator based on exercise and to lose weight is 500 calories less per day for 1 lb weight loss a week.
I have meals created in MFP so I can add a basic stir fry mix, salad or vegetable medley easily. Then I just add protein/sauces afterwards. I also have all my common meals saved too so they are easy to add 😀
A couple of reasons: 1. Fruit and veg are typically high fibre foods and fibre is a nutrient that helps keep you feel. 2. A lot of fruit and veg are quite high in volume aka you get a big portion for quite few calories. So if you're eating bigger portions, this is another great way to keep you full.
why is it so important to hit your protein goal? i am doing pretty fine while not reaching it, i stay under my calorie deficit amount. I'd like to know why would i then still try to aim for so much protein?
The recommended 0.8-1g of protein per pound of bodyweight is to assure you can still build some muscle while in a deficit (especially if you're a noob and don't have much muscle yet) or to minimize the muscle loss caused by that deficit.
I’m sorry to be a naysayer but this is not an optimal way to lose fat at all. You need to learn the science behind fat loss before you start recommending foods that are just going to spike insulin levels. You are basing this on the premise that all calories are the same when different macronutrients have widely different insulin responses. Remember in the presence of insulin you can not tap into your body fat. Breads, fruits, egg whites, cereal, bbq sauce, anything low fat will all spike your insulin and make you hungry and you will never lose body fat that way. This eating protocol would never reverse type 2 diabetes which is all about insulin resistance. Learn the science behind beta oxidation of fat, the Krebs cycle, glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. I’ve lost 80lbs on a high fat low carb, fasting focus lifestyle and completely reversed my type 2 diabetes. If I ate like this I would become insulin resistant all over again.
There are plenty of studies that show when calories are equated, following a low carb or high carb diet makes no difference to weight loss. So you have lost weight because your new diet has helped you sustain a calorie deficit, not because you're eating low carb/high fat and fasting. P.S. There are also plenty of studies that show insulin sensitivity improves in a calorie deficit even when sugar intake is high (100g per day or more) 😁

Hi JC. Just letting you know the last few videos on the recipe app aren't playing.

First weekend tip is genius
The biggest help has been you ! Your advice and meals have pushed me to meet my goals !! Thank you for all you do 💪🏼🤘🏻
Nice one Thomas 🤝
i think a big problem is people try to optimize their diet and workout regimen and focus too much on that instead of just doing.
Agreed, bhai..... and it is very hard to overcome that perfectionist mindset
Overthinking things and making it too complicated definitely can be counterproductive. Do what works for you, what works for one individual may not work for another.
Another fantastic video Jonathan. And the recipes are on my list to try!
Logging the night before...insanely brilliant, tx

Love this 👏
Great video JC, top man as usual, always motivated by you 👍
What help me with my weightloss is adding/ increase fruits and vegetables to my meals or just as snacks and helped me stay full.

Thanks for the video, Jonathan!
So creative. Great recipes. Thank you Jonathan.
Great video, have you considered doing a monthly fee for those who can't pay that amount up front?
Stop this French toast recipe is incredible, thank you!
Yeah most definitely saving cals for the weekend always! I love the MFP app for this cause they have a feature to set this daily 😎
Great vid again Jonathan have a good one
Great recipes!
Hi man, I just want to know so I can compare myself in terms of body composition, can you tell us your height?
Legit video👍🏽👏
Awesome vid♡
When you are measuring egg whites and milk etc, how do you measure how many ml you are using without a jug or measuring jar? Cheers
Put the bottle on the scales, zero it, pour egg whites/milk, put it back on the scales, see what the difference is 👍
If you want really chocolatey French toast mix in some cocoa powder 👍👍 ninja air fryer most definitely worth it.
What did you eat today... Me...Nothing mmmmm fasting
Comment below if you have a big one, which I do, I don’t an air fryer though, meals looks great though
The chicken recipe sounds great, however it somehow looks a little burned. 😅
Excuses don’t kill the fat, exercises do.
Did you cycling Calories ?
Great advice!
👍👍👍
Love it
"Comment below if you have a big one" - done!
🤣🤣🤣
I love Johnathan's banging meals.

and also protein fills you up, thus it makes it easier not to overeat
And the body uses more calories to digest protein. Plus you’ll be less hungry. A lot of people loose muscle when dieting, we do not want that!

@8:55 I have a big one! ;-) Yes I'd recommend it!
😂👏
How funny you skip fat but adding a ton of carbs
