Damn Vaxei really struggled on the hidden picks here and it seems like malis was much better at the wider screen jump type maps as well. Vaxei did dominate on the tech picks and I can’t say I wasn’t surprised to see that especially against someone like malis

ngl it sucks a lil cause Vaxei put in 0 effort, he has like 400 maps played last month and 300 this month, and he did like 100-150 yesterday so he did all this like last second

@@juinorgaming3417 It definitely feels bittersweet knowing the result of the match when you realize that he hardly practiced after taking a year long hiatus. I wouldn't say mrekk's in that battle, unless it's basically near 9 star diff mappools like Corsace grandfinals.
When the mappools aren't literally the hardest ever made, mrekk has never really been close to being better than malisz tbh. On top of losing to a lot of other players (like, last year he lost 6-4 to Utami, 6-0 to Arnold, 5-1 to malisz, 5-2 to WhiteCat... and got outperformed at the owc by malisz, Karcher, Utami, xooty, and several other players. The only tournament he won last year was Corsace open, in which he only played one match, on the pool where he was most likely to shine).
However I agree with you that today, mrekk has the highest skillcap in the world and malisz and Vaxei are probs the only two who can potentially match him on pools that hard.
But in terms of tournament consistency, mrekk isn't the best yet (definitely could be though), which is why I wouldn't consider him the best tournament player in the world

2020-2021 Vaxei wouldn't have shitmissed on HR picks or ran out of stamina on 240BPM. That last map would've surely been an FC choke for someone of his calibre of consistency.
None of this would've happened a few years ago, but gg to malisz for showing crazy consistency and class.

lol if Vaxei gave any effort whatsoever this year to grind and stay warm he would have wiped the floor with Malisz, like in reality he just hasn't been playing as much and that just shows how much better Vaxei will always be especially if he ACTUALLY tried which he did not do whatsoever this tourney.

That was literally the point of this showmatch? To check if vaxei who hasn't played for years is able to win a match on a high star mappool? So stop crying and making what if scenarios
