Xhosa were one of the first clans of Bantu Nguni to enter and settle in SA . When they arrived here they had no particular name as a tribe . After brutal skirmishes with the Khoi nomadic herders they were given the name xhosa, meaning the violent angry people . The xhosa killed many Khoi men and took the women and children as slaves These forced assimilations led to language adaptations clicks etc and lighter skin tones The Khoi were obliged to migrate away south westerly to avoid further clashes Later after the Xhosa had established dominance they resorted to more amicable relations with the indigenous people .
@Scar_7.62 you're talking nonsense chief. You know nothing about the Xhosa nation because you are a descendant of slaves from Asia, or shipwrecked survivors that's trying to steal and misrepresent African history. Xhosa history goes beyond the 7 century in South Africa according to archeology, longer than your bloodline.
