I'm glad you acknowledged that beginners should find a horse that knows more than they do. That's the first thing I tell people when they ask me to teach them how to barrel race.
I have a draft/paint horse who did everything else but barrel race and he was very terrified of the barrels but after a few months of getting him used to the barrels and going under him and around them he was not afraid of them and now our best time is a 15.6 and I am very proud of him
I use a draft/paint that I use for cowboy mounted shooting, she doesn't look like it but she is a speed demon. I just started her under a year ago and our best time is a 18 second clean run. I love her to bits
“Imagine having to learn a foreign language while teaching it to someone else at the very same time. It’s almost impossible and you’ll make a lot of mistakes”
Success is a curtain. Most people only see the glamor, forgetting the blood, sweat, and tears on the other side. I appreciate you not sugar-coating what a grind it can be.
I like that you're sorta kicking it back and doing some more of these "deep dive" videos about your personal experiences while on quarentine. I love watching you run at rodeos, but I also love these thinky pieces too.
I totally agree with her, I have a beautiful gelding palomino but sadly he has asthma. But that's fine I ride him perfectly fine just I know when enough is enough.
Thank you for attempting to frame horse buying and training with realistic expectations and compassion for the horse first! Also pearlsnap might be my new favorite horse name ever
All I need in a barrel horse is speed, no bucking, calm, easy to ride, and sweet ones. I love my horse and nothing can replace him he is the best barrel horse I have ever met he has helped me learn a lot we get our second barrel down we will be unstable he might not be hiper when I’m at shows but he has speed and he is calm he is all I need
i like what you were saying at 24:30. THE HORSE IS NOT STUPID at least most the time some are a little special but horses definitely know how to test people and see what they can get away with.
Talking about your horses, I was looking at horses, and I came across one and his description, it's said that it was a half brother to baby flow and his stallion was doctor Nick bar
These tips are extremely helpful! I just lost my horse because she just wasn’t working right for us so these tips will be extremely helpful when I start looking for the right horse for me!
I love this! Thank you! Could you do a vlog on bringing Sunday Brunch back to condition as well? I know she's a bit older and that would be valuable to those of us with older horses as well😘
As a horse trainer I really appreciate you putting it out there that the horse is only going to stay as good as the person riding it. Every time you are touching the lead rope you are either training or untraining it. That is so true and not many people understand that. The horse is going to take time to adapt to new environments and routines and will not be the same exact horse as when it left the sale barn. Something I have implemented is every horse that leaves my barn whether a sale or people taking it home from training, I make a video explaining what it knows, how I cue it to do those things, and the equipment that I’m using. That way if Sally takes it home and says it knows nothing she can look back at the video and see that it has been trained and how it was going when it left. I truly appreciate you bringing light into that in this video.
Im starting barrels and your videos help me alot and I'm from Idaho so ill never get the chance to meet you but the chance that you might read this makes my day
I run Mustangs, hancock bred appendix quarter horses, and paints! I choose horses that are 14.2-15 hands and very athletic. I love smaller horses I find they give more heart. ❤️
Birdcatcher Spots and BendOr Spots! BIRDCATCHER SPOTS are white spots that can appear on a coat. Famously named after the tb stallion Birdcatcher who presented this phenotype. They are suspected to be genetically linked, hence why a lot of horses that present Birdcatcher spots are linked back to the namesaked stallion, but there are some other lines that may contribute to the spots aswell. BENDOR SPOTS are the black spots on the red based horses that Fallon referred too. Similar to Birdcatcher Spot, as they were also named after the tb stallion, BendOr. But there is currently no rhyme or reason as to why they occur 😊🥰
Could you please do a full barn tour? When you show all the horses not just the recognizable ones? Maybe say which ones you might sell and which you won’t?
I won’t sell any but loco. I have shown all the horses in many vlogs. If you see one that you think I haven’t shown it’s because it’s just a broodmare or a training horse I do not own! :)
I don’t know if Fallon will see this comment but I just want to say how much I love you. My best friend Madisyn has met you before and now I really want to meet you. Thank you for being such an inspiration
I love your videos you’re the one who inspired to start barrel racing even though I don’t barrel race any more but I ride cutting horses know and it so much fun u should try it butI still look up to u
loved this, love the knowledge I gained from this. Thanks and do more of these informative and educational ones. Maybe one to help if you have a horse with bad habits and how to help with that.
Love love this video! It is so true horses act different depending on the owner. I’ve definitely experienced that first hand with my horse. It’s incredible how love and hard work can change a horse and even a person for the better!💕
I have horses too and I barrel race as well and I love watching your videos. I saw u run in Fort Madison Iowa rodeo and have been watching you since. I love you so much stay safe.
I've had an Appy/TB that was my 1st barrel/gymkhana horse & she was amazing. My grandma & I trained her on the patterns in the beginning. ♡ Then my next one was an Arabian/Mustang. When we got her she was already a finished Barrel/Pole horse. Was just a natural on the gymkhana events too. I prefer crosses, never purebreds. They're just not for me lol.
I have binge watched several vlogs since first stumbling on your vlogs through your purchase of Dupe. I live in Kansas and follow the Peabody kill pen. We need to encourage more people to look to these horses to meet their equine goals. I especially liked this vlog that discusses what you look for. I don’t race but find the tips you give on horse training and personal goal setting and perseverance of merit. I appreciate your promotion of helmets. I appreciate your philosophy to find the greatest potential for that horse and not force him/her to be something unattainable. I am looking forward to see Dupe’s progress. I appreciate you make it well known that lots of hard work is involved irregardless of pedigree.
Please do more videos like these girl! I love them! Is so informative. Im a newish rider and im fairly inexperienced and id like to get back into the horse world around HEALTHY and positive and safe horse people this time, and i love learning! Thanks God bless xoxoxox
I really liked this vlog because I’ve never looked into the build of a horse that in depth when buying a horse. I really liked to see how you look at a horse and how you expect a horse to preform due to their build. Great vlog!!❤️
Yes. Birdcatcher spots, are the white spots from a tb stallion name Birdcatcher. The dark spots are called Bend Or spots, from a tb stallion named Bend Or
In the next 1-2 years I want to look for a better barrel horse and knows what do and has more experience in barrel racing so this really helped me thx fallon and horses 💞💞💞
I really wanna see u buy a horse from somewhere and train it! Please do! I love what I do, you inspire me to work with horses more. Seeing u on RUclips makes my day!
My horse is a barrel racer, and I have been barrel racing on her, I only just learnt how to canter around the barrels because I wanted to do it a lot now and my 12.1 hand pony is teaching me because when I make a mistake she tells me and I try again.
I fully understand, we breed Frysians and they are great at dressage if you have the right bloodline and stuff but I also enjoy show jumping and you can jump on frysians but you will never get to the 1,40 level so for that we bought a KWPN horse (royal dutch horse) for the show jumping.
I acquired two AQHA mares. Both for under two thousand. Both of them are jam up pole horses and can run with the best of them! However, they both came to me with hangups and it took hours upon hours of working with them to fix them! Plus a good vet, farrier and feeding schedule.
You would love my horse she’s a 15 Hh sprint quarter horse and she’s a very different colour she’s sort of in between dirty pal and buckskin. She’s got like a silvery mixed mane and tail and her coat is like a nugget colour
Can you make a video please about overcoming your fear of riding after breaking your neck?? I had a riding accident last summer and broke my shoulder, and I'm trying to overcome my fear, but it's still there. It honestly makes me not enjoy riding as much! I find myself making excuses not to ride sometimes.
We call the black spots on our pals and roans "mickey spots" because when I was a kid my roan had one that looked like Mickey mouse. Money spots sounds so much better 😂
My Quarter Horse was trained Western and is built like a barrel racer (even has that “fast booty” which he definitely uses). However, he has been turned towards Eventing, and while he may not have the best build for it, he loves being out on the course. We don’t expect him to jump over a meter, but he certainly thinks he can.
If you want a horse and you don't really know a Bunch about them it's best to start with something slow and gentle instead of getting something that needs more of an intermediate Rider
I don't rodeo or show my horse at all but he is an appendix too and I love that combo so so so so much he is so sweet with my young cousins and so gentle with me up on his back
I have the perfect little makeover horse!! She’s 13, small, and I have no clue what breed but she’s not gated! Palomino in color and HARD feet. She is green but no buck. She would make for an awesome “makeover” type and then go on to be someone’s forever horse!!
I have 2 Standardbreds that I do barrel racing on, 1 is an expacer and the other is just a standy but they love to run barrels they do very well I have place first in a few rodeos but I don’t compete at pro level just local rodeos and they really seem to enjoy it. It did take alit of training but any breed is able to do whatever you want as long as you have time and patience. Also I love the content Fallon definitely my favourite barrel racer 😁
Love this video! Love learning at what different disiplines look for in their horses. Have you ever thought about getting a mustang? either started or not?
I'll be starting my 2 mustangs on barrels for fun this spring. I LOVE mustangs and you will never see me on a qh. Too much body not enough bone and too small of feet
Nic Nac sounds like our mare Wimpys Remedy, An AMAZING mare but totally a 'don't touch me, but I'll let you stand next to me!" horse LOL Love it thank you so much!! I love our lines too, you'll have to go to R&M Quarter Horses and check out her 5yo colt... Easy Jet, Jet Deck, Three Bars, Doc Bar, Wimpy, Leo, to name a few... :) OMG I have a Sell and For Sale issue, if the add says I am saleing a horse .... OMG its a HARD Pass its selling something and you have something for Sale LOL
I had to watch this 2 times cus it was so much great info!!! Me and my family are not horse breeders but we are going to buy a prospect really soon so this helped me a little!!
Funny thing my first horse was a western trained quarter horse I road English my trainer said perfect horse buy him we did well one year later we were shopping for another horse amd ended up with a TB gelding retiring the first to flat only he hated to jump and was not right for English riding he taught me alot and we played barrels in english tack he was always great for learning but I am happy we got the TB for jumping as that's what I did I agree with what I'm hereing in this video
When Harlow is older, you can tell Fallon is going to spoil the hell out of that little girl. She loves her so much it’s so cute.
kaylee rae u know she will be getting her a mini pony as soon as she can walk 😂
Lol
@@kyliebradford9739 yes
Kylie Bradford maybe even before 😂😂
Barrel Racer probably before so they can train it up perfectly for her😂
I'm glad you acknowledged that beginners should find a horse that knows more than they do. That's the first thing I tell people when they ask me to teach them how to barrel race.
People who love Fallon and her 🐎
👇🏽
Like beggar
I love her and her horses so much

I love the "learning a foreign language at the same time you're teaching it" analogy! I've never thought of it that way but heck it is so true!
Gems I found in this vlog: “Pioneers are the ones with arrows in their back.” “There’s no need to set myself up for roadblocks.”
Truth
“If your learning to fly a plane you don’t start with backflips you focus on getting it off the ground”😊
“Imagine having to learn a foreign language while teaching it to someone else at the very same time. It’s almost impossible and you’ll make a lot of mistakes”
Fallon gives so many good quotes. I have so many written down lol
Success is a curtain. Most people only see the glamor, forgetting the blood, sweat, and tears on the other side. I appreciate you not sugar-coating what a grind it can be.
I would love to see you buy a horse somewhere and watch the progress.
Kimberly Burkholder I’m pretty sure she knows what she’s talking about lol
She has rescued horses and shown their progress and Rn she has a horse from the kill pen who she is working on to do barrels
I like that you're sorta kicking it back and doing some more of these "deep dive" videos about your personal experiences while on quarentine. I love watching you run at rodeos, but I also love these thinky pieces too.

Fallon, I think we need a video introducing every single one of your horses! I cannot keep up
These tips are extremely helpful! I just lost my horse because she just wasn’t working right for us so these tips will be extremely helpful when I start looking for the right horse for me!
I would love a video on how you start a young horse, from lunging to starting under saddle!!! These tips were so good!!
I love this! Thank you! Could you do a vlog on bringing Sunday Brunch back to condition as well? I know she's a bit older and that would be valuable to those of us with older horses as well😘

I so agree.. I had a mare Welsh pony that was very sassy. But when I took her out if I gave her the reins that girl could fly and loved it...
Im starting barrels and your videos help me alot and I'm from Idaho so ill never get the chance to meet you but the chance that you might read this makes my day

Excellent and sound advice! Too many people judge the horse based on whether or not it has papers and that's just wrong.
Yes more training videos please!! I need more help with training my horse and how to be a better rider.
Fallon is helping me keep sane during quarantine 😂😂 thank you!!!!
I think it would be cool if you got an unhandled mustang and trained it!
Megan Grove yess
I have one that would be an AMAZING barrel horse. But most are overbred qh. Sorry

You’re like one of the first pro barrel racer that I ever heard “if they don’t have papers who cares”💕
I recently just bought my dream barrel horse, she is everything I’ve wanted, and I am so grateful💕💕
What do you think of a mustang being a barrel horse?
I mean you do you boo boo
Well, you know it would take longer to train, but you never know your Mustang could be an amazing barrel racing if you do lots of training!
Does she/he have good speed and stops well, if so go for it!!!
Most athletic horse I ever had was a buckskin blm mustang. She was built like a really nice quarter horse.
One of the fastest and toughest horses I've ever ran against in the circuit was a BLM mustang.
I love your videos you’re the one who inspired to start barrel racing even though I don’t barrel race any more but I ride cutting horses know and it so much fun u should try it butI still look up to u
I love that you said something about quarter horses cause not a lot of people know that about this breed. Love you. Keep educating people. 🐴
Best info on barrels horses. FT knows her job as a breeder/racer. This is a Good One. Smart Smart Smart. Than you guys.
loved this, love the knowledge I gained from this. Thanks and do more of these informative and educational ones. Maybe one to help if you have a horse with bad habits and how to help with that.

YAAAAAAS to a Craigslist horse training series!
Awesome video I’m going to look at a barrel horse today so excited your a big inspiration and help
Fallon, the first quarter horse: Janus, was a thoroughbred of proportions that made it a sprinter par excellence
I would love to see Fallon adopt a Mustang and turn it into a barrel horse.
I have horses too and I barrel race as well and I love watching your videos. I saw u run in Fort Madison Iowa rodeo and have been watching you since. I love you so much stay safe.

Yay!! I want to start barrel racing soon!
My horse is a barrel racer, and I have been barrel racing on her, I only just learnt how to canter around the barrels because I wanted to do it a lot now and my 12.1 hand pony is teaching me because when I make a mistake she tells me and I try again.
This new intro gives me chills every time.
Thank you so much Fallon!
I finally watched a video in the first 10 minutes it was posted YAY

I fully understand, we breed Frysians and they are great at dressage if you have the right bloodline and stuff but I also enjoy show jumping and you can jump on frysians but you will never get to the 1,40 level so for that we bought a KWPN horse (royal dutch horse) for the show jumping.
Thank You! Now I now what to do with my Barrel horse Vanity!
I need this video I’m looking so, thank you!❤️
We wanna see you buy a horse and train it and show us the details , Fallon! ❤️ you and what you do and stand for

Sounds like she kinda sounds like Latigo dun it, don't you think that babyflo and Latigo would make a beautiful foal?
Love this! Very informative. I feel like I definitely hit it on the money with the 4 year old mare I bought earlier this month after watching this!
This is probably my favorite vlog y’all have done.
A story time video of how you met Jessie and Cody would be cool 😎
would love love love to see you buy a horse and document the process of evaluating, buying and training
I would love to see you do that challenge!!! I think it would be amazing to watch! Love your channel!❤🐴🐴😊😁🙌😃
I miss deep thoughts with fallen
I enjoy your vlogs so much ❤️
I love you you are the reason why I started barrel racing you are my idol!!
My Quarter Horse was trained Western and is built like a barrel racer (even has that “fast booty” which he definitely uses). However, he has been turned towards Eventing, and while he may not have the best build for it, he loves being out on the course. Trying to persuade my parents to let me have a horse/pony lol not working
Horse are a lot more work if you don't have any one to help you
Haha same not working
Calie Chandler family of six shouldn’t be a problem 😂
Carys AnneX same
If you want a horse and you don't really know a Bunch about them it's best to start with something slow and gentle instead of getting something that needs more of an intermediate Rider
YAY I'M EARLYY THIS IS THE EARLIEST IVE BEEN
you probably changed it awhile ago but I LOVE the new entrance video
Yes! Would love to see you buy a horse- take Us with you!
I’ve done your filter a million times and I keep getting chuck and flobot!!!! 😂
That was great!! I love your horsemanship! Thank you!
Bet Hesa Cat is a really nice stallion! Great pick!

Great advice!! Spot on!😉. Yes Yes Yes I want to see the challenge🤠
I think the challenge would be really cool!! I love your videos so much!! You are amazing!
Also what kind of bits do you typically use for your horses? You should totally do a video tutorial on what kind of bits you use and would suggest!
I have a horse that’s gained. It’s probably not an ideal type but he’s pretty fast when he runs in the field. He likes to take off when I ride him
Thank you for these videos! I love learning about your horses and how you care for them!
I had to watch this 2 times cus it was so much great info!!! Me and my family are not horse breeders but we are going to buy a prospect really soon so this helped me a little!!
