Love love love coffee walks, Dennis you're okay😉. You are my favorite fast and loud cast by far. Awkwardly, I shook a grown man's hand and told him I loved him at the bank lol. Never cared for jeeps til i started watching coffee walk. Keep it up, your knowledge is insurmountable and top notch above the rest. I could sit and listen to you talk about cars all day long. Keep them coming Dennis.
Dennis Collins - definitely the NASCAR experimental. Wow, what a great price you are selling it for! Hope to see a video of it completed and running some day. Keep up the super work Dennis!
😢 I had a '68 AMX and a '73 Javelin in the mid 80s. They were given to me. Both were rough, but easy to restore. Too bad I was a broke kid. They were worth nothing then. Now? Heart breaking. Thanks for the love you give these awesome cars.
Funny thing is i had a Black/Black 68 AMX with a 290 V8 with a 3 speed. AMX one of only 2- Corvettes the other- 2 seater Muscle cars. As far as the Mark Donahue edition i know where a green one is with the white stripe package and spoiler sitting in a field in Chadbourn N.C. i also know where a 1973? Or 1974?. Matdor station wagon sits with a 401 and automatic trans. Looks to be loaded down with P.S.,P.B. A.C.,Power windows and tailgate windows. Split bench seat etc Orange with the wood grain sides, factory Ralley Wheels, Rear roof Aluminum defuser/spoiler. In my 40+ years of car hunting i have never seen another. Same with the Yellow and Black Hornet SST. that sits in Garden City S.C.
Thank you for showing AMC cars some respect! I'm looking forward to seeing some of your finished works. I wish you were near my area. I have a 64 Typhoon that needs to be finished up, and I'd love to have you do it.
Dennis, Walks the Walk and Talks the Talk! No B.S. like Richard the want a be! He builds Cars and Jeeps like they should be. The right way. Now he's teaching his Daughter. Kelsey his way! More power to Dennis. Hope to meet him someday. Tour his shop. Great job! Dennis. Shawn
I have been a huge fan for awhile. Great to see you still doing the coffee walks and letting us see the day to day finds and progress. Not many people as successful as you make the time to let people know what's going on and keeping us updated. Thank you I really enjoy these. Beautiful javelins by the way. When a car was a trophy and prized possession, not luxury, a status symbol, or a " from A to B".
Thanks for letting us see Dennis. I think the jeeps you guys build with the hell crate engines are very choice and premium in design. I would bet money a hellaphant jeep will be born soon loaded with Black Mountains cutting edge gear. I gota tell ya your new daily driver race car you just featured is Outstanding as well. 🤙😎💯
I had a 1972 javelin. Burgundy with white swooping stripe, white t vinyl top, and white interior. I got it around 1976 or 78. Drove it about a year and during a snow storm somebody rear ended me and totaled it. Really liked that car.
AMC published some booklets on how to hot rod the Javelin/AMX. I used to have them as I owned a '70 MD Javelin, 360/4-speed, bought it new in '70 after graduation from college. One of the issues the booklet addressed was oiling. As I recall the problem was that the oil drain back holes in cylinder head wasn't able to handle all the oil that accumulated under the valve covers under prolonged high rpm operation, so they added hose(s) from valve cover to the oil pan in effort to get more drainage.
The "oiling problem" was an issue where under quick and hard acceleration the amount of oil pumped to the upper engine tended to diminish the oil capacity of the oil pan. As AMC moved into the "police service" sales with the Ambassador, Matador and Javelin, they solved the problem with a much deeper sump oil pan. In the interim, shops solved the problem by sticking pipe cleaners into the pushrods to slow down the rush of oil to the top end (more than needed). No kidding.
I love how you love AMC AMX AND AMC MOTORS JAVILIN. AMERICAN WORKS OF ART.. I HAVE 1969 AMC AMC WITH EVERY AVAILABLE OPTIONS. X-CODE 390 GO PARK EVEN GROUP 19 DEALERSHIP INSTALLED. NEAL APOLLO BEACH FLORIDA SEMPER FI OHHHHHH RAAAAAA
That's funny that you have car #6, a few years back a gentlemen came into my shop with a 71 for sale that he claimed a nascar experimental.(#6 of 12 he claimed) He wanted to sell it rather than have it restored. I know very little about American motors products coupled with the fact my bullshit detector was going off I declined and wished him luck. The car was B9 matador red and had none of the identification tags that your car has. It had a 401 in it .... but I believe that was from another car as casting dates were after the build date of the car. Makes me laugh !
Back in the early 90’s one of the local junk yards I frequented for small block Chevy’s . to blow apart on Friday and Saturday nights drag racing called me and sold me a engine and trans for my 68 javelin out of a 1971 javelin. The car had the same tag on the fire and markings on the engine and transmission. I paid $200 and sold/traded them for $1000 and a solid all original 1972 gremlin 304 4 speed car . The guy was a real AMC enthusiast, he had to have them. Later he told me that was an experimental from amc and Holbrook racing . Here it is @28 years later and I see your video of the same engine and transmission I thought a guy was nuts to buy from me for so much money and a perfect running driving car! 🤷♂️
AMC just never gets the love, but real car people know. Knew a guy with a Rebel Machine. It wasn't 100% stock but you wouldn't know by looking at it. He had an intake, some head work done, and a potato cam. (At idle, the exhaust cadence was: Po-Ta-To- Po-Ta-To- Po-Ta-To....) That car was insane fast. Just crazy torque.
Thanks Dennis, Automotive History is friggin cool isn't it. Back in the day an old friends brother use to win the occasional Gun Fight with his built dual quad SST.
If the bottom end of the 401 un the nascar javelin is 4 bolt main then its definitely nascar. No factory car came 4 bolts. Some race stuff was modified. Only 401 blocks have meaty enough webbing in the bottom end to machine for 4 bolts. The indy 304 were destroked 401s.
Javelin were always 4 seaters from their debut in 68 all the way up to 74. The 68 to 70 AMX was a 2 seater. Mark Donahue Javelins were a special edition you could purchase for the 1970 year. I also do not believe that would have been a Nascar Xperimental as the 401 was over the cubic inch limit for nascar. It may have been something they were playing with for SCCA Trans am.
Had a 69 javelin SST with the factory ram air , it was a 360 with and automatic it freak’n hauled azz , dam I miss that car ! Dennis do the bodywork on the 401 ex , ya I know barn find , holy grail, bla, bla , bla , then keep it !
There was more then 12 go to amc national registry there is a guy who has 2 of rhose amx experimetals that and there are people who can decode any vin weither it be experimental or not i own a amc mine is a rambler classic and the registry helped me out so much on my car hope this helps
AMX was the performance American motors. the javelin was just another one they put a motor in and tried to make a hot rod out of and it didn't work. The javelin had a low compression, no horse power.
Hahaha.. javelins are so a roach muscle car ..! I had a friend who had one in High school.. I believe 342 v8. I laughed at him regularly when he was trying to rod it out. I am so Chevy 🤣
Fun fact: AMC may have died off, but AM General (the company that made the Humvee) is still with us. Far as I'm concerned, AMC was just AM General's civilian-vehicle division. This would also explain why they failed so drastically. AM General made its bones by making lowest-bidder military equipment. This is not exactly conducive to making good cars or marketing them to their intended audience. The only things military procurement Officers care about are "how much does it cost?", "does it work?" and "what's in it for me?". Going from that to building cars that will actually sell is a bit of a leap if you ask me.
I believe if the Nascar Javelin is a 6 figure car I believe you would have already restored it and sold it by now. But Jeeps are your bread and butter.
I have a question .Back in 72 I bought an AMX of a dealers floor. It was a very basic unit. Only added option was power brakes, except for the 401 ,M22 4spd and 391 posi rear. Supposedly the 401 was a hand built, blueprinted, and built with special parts. Of course being young and dumb, but being smart enough to sell it after 10 months of defying death. I'm thinking it was a factory drag car. Is there any way to verify if they built such a unit? Thanks for having a reality rebuild show where it takes more than 30 minutes to completely do a ground up resto.
My dad has a 70 amx full go package from the factory. A little over 20.000 miles on it. Not a big fan of the javelin. The nose on them look like poo . The amx is the best pick of there rigs
This car has been called out several times as not being legitimate. No documentation. And why would a NASCAR experimental car have an automatic transmission? 🤔
No such thing as a NASCAR Javelin AMX. I worked for a dealership since I was a Kid and these were a private garage car at best. Contact Eddie Stakes If you need answers on AMC cars.
I have a Jeep J10 daily driver and I have a International Scout ragtop are you a good source or parts I know you probably don't read your own emails and you probably have to deal with freaks Geeks and idiots but I need some place that I can get parts to keep what I have running I mean for sure a cover for my bucket seats in my truck but the thing is I will not cover on unless I can get original covering and I have tried every which way I I'm at my wit's end but I'd like to get back original if you can I have one of your secretaries or somebody get ahold of me it would be worth the money to me to get it back original whatever the cost my son is 12 now and I have promised him I won't do any more work to my J10 until I get the right stuff who make it original
AMC, AMX I go to a lot of car shows and yet dont see to many if any, one of the underrated classics.
Awesome channel just found it its really great to see your company working on older models really enjoy watching keep up the awesome work 🙋♂️
Always did love the Javelins....

I never understand people that bash FnL ... I enjoy the show. But I love your Coffee Walks ... thanks for sharing cool cars and your knowledge.
Thanks for watching, guys! What ride was your favorite?
Dennis Collins - definitely the NASCAR experimental. Wow, what a great price you are selling it for! Hope to see a video of it completed and running some day. Keep up the super work Dennis!

Thank you for showing AMC cars some respect! I'm looking forward to seeing some of your finished works. I wish you were near my area. I have a 64 Typhoon that needs to be finished up, and I'd love to have you do it.
AMC had some beautiful cars back in the day. Javelin, AMX,Gremlin,The rebel , The Machine and more.
Great job! Dennis. Shawn
Those two javelins are awesome. my fave cars from the 60s 70s was AMC and the Javelin.
So cool I had a 1970 powder blue Donahue Edition Javlelin back in the 70s when i was a teenager.
I have been a huge fan for awhile. Great to see you still doing the coffee walks and letting us see the day to day finds and progress. I was lucky enough to be a guest at Mecum Indy 2021. A Honco went for $110,000 my jaw was on the floor!
Thanks for letting us see Dennis. I think the jeeps you guys build with the hell crate engines are very choice and premium in design. You always have the coolest finds Dennis ! Psyched to see the old AMC stuff get some attention...
Had a 74 AMX with a 401 automatic. Wife totaled it 2 week before we got married in 81. Loved it.
I love that saying holy grail Dennis says it the best he's the tops in his field

Seen this one before but the Javelin is sick

Dennis I thought Richard said for you Not to say Holy Grail anymore after that red Mustang you bought from that old lady.
Need a cap for that coffee lol
Great plan with the white top on the 69 bronc
So cool. Schwing!
If Richard can get you some of that you sir can say holy grail as much as you want
What the hell? Just saw your channel as " suggested" subbed! Coffee and cars what more could I ask for?
Dang Dennis did you corner the market of old Jeeps. Srsly love looking at them.

Nice to see someone appreciate original AMC iron.
Nice

Come on Dennis restore that NASCAR javelin
You should try to find a 1970 something 2 door Cherokee chief to build.
The "Chief" model did not appear until about '77 or '78. They were built on the wide body Model 17 Cherokees.
I was always told that the AMX came with the 401 and the reg. Javelins came with the 360 I had a 73 Javelin it had the 360 in it
I have an original 73 AMX 360 4speed go pack

$25K for that AMC!!?!?!?!? I’m surprised RR hasn’t jumped on that.
Dennis did you get my msg about the AMX and Scrambler and Rebel Machine horde?
I wouldnt mind finding a older CJ jeep in nice condition for a rebuild..body would have to be nice..
Dennis you guys need to finish that javelin
wow
Discovery should give Dennis a show
W0W That 1971 Javelin NASCAR is Someth'in else to See👀.
I believe if the Nascar Javelin is a 6 figure car I believe you would have already restored it and sold it by now. But Jeeps are your bread and butter.
im convinced cj hoods werent perfectly straight from the factory haha
$25.000 that seems reasonable Dennis

25 g sounds pretty cheap for the car but then again from what I understand that is one of the hardest cars to get parts for
And then you probably have to put 30 grand into it to get it back to be a good car..
@@twincammikev 30 grand would not touch it
Jeepmaster
You need a mic without earphones it sounds low.
If it is nascar engine the heads should have REED Stamped on them
Nascar Javelin? I thought AMC, Penske and Donohue were into Trans-Am which had nothing to to with Nascar ...
There’s no such thing as an AMX Javelin. Only an AMC Javelin or, an AMC AMX. So, I am a little confused by this. Did I miss something?
Javelin is not a car you see every day that is one rare car
How do i get a job working for you?
No such thing as a NASCAR Javelin AMX. I worked for a dealership since I was a Kid and these were a private garage car at best. Contact Eddie Stakes If you need answers on AMC cars.
Blue Island might be helping you but their customer service sucks elsewhere! Don’t wanna know about taking my order 👎🏻 not good
I agree, finally bailed on them. Switch to black rifle Denis, great goofy bunch of guys, coffees great BTW
Javelin AMX*
Dennis “what really makes this car special is that it’s an automatic.”
Me (spongebob meme) “imma head out”
Dennis, I have a vehicle you may be interested in restoring. Message me if you're interested.
70 looks so look much better......smh
Send one cup of coffee ☕ to me 😍 to 🇵🇰
I have a Jeep J10 daily driver and I have a International Scout ragtop are you a good source or parts I know you probably don't read your own emails and you probably have to deal with freaks Geeks and idiots but I need some place that I can get parts to keep what I have running I mean for sure a cover for my bucket seats in my truck but the thing is I will not cover on unless I can get original covering and I have tried every which way I I'm at my wit's end but I'd like to get back original if you can I have one of your secretaries or somebody get ahold of me it would be worth the money to me to get it back original whatever the cost my son is 12 now and I have promised him I won't do any more work to my J10 until I get the right stuff who make it original
