I'm pretty sure people didn't actually think this was real, but were amused enough to go along with it. I would've gotten an autograph because why not? It was hilarious, and that guy looked incredibly like the painting. While I do think they should've gotten authorization in the first place just to be safe, I don't see anything wrong with what they did here :)
I'm sure if they tried to get "authorization"from the museum, they wouldn't have been allowed to do it at all.You know, "liability" for some imagined risk.
I like it. Small missed opportunity, though: when Charlie told the first museum manager the King was excited because his portrait had just been restored, there was a story about it in the NYTimes, etc, he assured him "He's 400 years old." The manager said "He doesn't look 400 years old," setting him up perfectly for "Exactly, because he's just been restored."
Angreh Kittunz omgsh I just imagined someone dressed as Martin Luther nailing the 95 theses (or whatever it's called) to the door of a church lol....actually, that wouldn't go over so well. Nevermind.
Oy! What's all that commotion over there? WHAT?!?!? Someone is promoting additional attention for our museum? Hmmm, it seems I must take a course of action for this beneficial act. *HEY YOU! GET OUT OF MY MUSEUM!*
It is important to stop them for the security of the items in the museum...he may have increased few visitors who had paid 5 dollars but 5 million dollar items are at risk. What if someone taking the advantage of the crowd steals anything or harm scratch the painting
@@ElementofKindness museums aren't that crowded usually...plus people are dispersed in different corner. This right there he was collecting crowd in one area Think!
@@rivahana I don’t think it’s that deep, they’re just causing a commotion and they didn’t asked for permission first so they were ask to leave Side note: for a 5 million dollar painting, there’s absolutely nothing stopping anyone from just punching a hole into it which I find kinda hilarious
Aw, I wish that man hadn't done that. I understand why, but I liked their reason for doing it. Yeah, the King just wanted to come in and see his painting now that's it's been restored. Cute.
The thing that makes this extra hilarious to me is, the last time I was at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, there was a man staring at a painting, and the painting and the man could have been twins. This is fantastic, I love it.
That was great and he even seemed to make the art more interesting and fun for the people of the museum. The museum should pay this guy for his service.
seriously, the +The Met needs to do something like this, it's adorable, and really gets peole to view museums as a preservation of a real breathing history to share with the world! I'm just sorry that I wasn't there to meet a real Hapsburg king! 😂
I'd love for one of these people to bring their autograph to pawn stars and tell them it's his signature. Then the guys will get all excited and find out its fake and the person who brought it would be pissed!
I... think most people probably thought it was a museum event, not the actual king. The man asking questions was probably just a bit perplexed to what was going on, but when the man said "he's 400" he laughed and moved on. And I don't mean to be rude about accented people, but his accent wasn't "American", so can we stop with this "Americans are stupid" please? Anyway, I went to a museum in my city and they did something similar with Queen Charlotte. I knew it wasn't REALLY her, but it was cool.
Today was King Phillip IV of Spain's birthday (April 8, 1605). He would have been 412 years old and from viewing this video, he looks very good for his age.
He did nothing wrong! He just simply helps museum attraction and makes people happy!
Security these days.... :T
Avira Rosalita yes it's truth..maybe he should get the permission from the mezeum administration first!!

lapissed Smartass, you’re invited in but have to follow their rules. Not a hard concept to understand
I guess the Spanish did find the Fountain of Youth.
UnknownNinja264 This joke should have more attention. Seriously...
UnknownNinja264 how did you know?? We didn't tell anyone... Spaniards!!! We've got a spy selling information!!!
😂😂😂
Pirates of Caribbean?
They upgraded the system to Philip 6.0 in 2014
"He doesn't look like he's 400" lmao
He must be a vampire
It would explain the pallor.
The guy that organizes all these scenes must have so much explaining to do.
I think that's the guy that was introducing the king. But yeah, I agree. He must spend half his time explaining during these

That dude was such a party-pooper!
Stay strong, King Philip
I love how well they reacted to being kicked out.
they are pretty professionals, getting kicked out is alot better than police coming to arrest them :p
Ik it's just nicer than a lot of other 'professionals'.

It's not people. Just management.
Too many people are enjoying the museum! We need to stop this immediately!

Why is red hair so commonly found in European royalty
in breeding
Lol
Since royalty were passed down in family instead of outside party being elected like now it's not all that strange really
FIGHTFANNERD9 Inbreeding and many European bloodlines (royals) were Germanic. So they didn't usually look like the common folk.
Lol people are so gullible!
I can't believe anyone would fall for that. That is incredible
