Tier list begins at 5:45 for those who already know the changes. 😊
Technically reverting 9.5 makes it easier on noobs because they have to hit less abilities and autos to kill.
@@TheSketyeah that’s not quite how that works. Tankyness has created a tonne of bad habits. Sure they may get 2 extra kills to go along with their 6 extra deaths
@@TheSket that is the dumbest shit i read today lol
I like ElLeon’s view on it. He advocates a lot for reduced death timers to prevent snowballing while keeping the essence of smite. Yes you’ll die and kill a lot more, but if the opposite jungles comes back 10-15 seconds earlier you may not steal all the farm on their side of the map. You get a buff and a camp and then you have to reevaluate if you go for more or not. Plus, there’s more actual playing and action!
I like this a lot. This would also help in other game modes like Joust where death timers feel ridiculously long and snowballing is an even bigger issue.
Reduced timers are shit. Global ults would make it stupid simple example you burn actives in a 2v2 in duo but get a kill on the athena that's nice but 15 seconds later the athena is back and now taunts you into medusa ult and the medusa gets a double.
@@Balila_balbal_lokior you leave after getting the kill or you kill Medusa in the 15 secs you have. Either way, it's a you issue.
would have to nerf tf out of obj health or youd never have the time to do anything but other than that problem i like it
@@dame3323 We had all global ults cooldown nerfed as well as kill timers extended because for 4 seasons the top pick and banned gods were gods with global ults. But you clearly don't know that and all you can say is "get gud" when the cooldown on many guardian abilities is longer than the death timer and any hunter got 10 sec cd on their stuff early game. Time to kill should be increased early game and uncapped late game so people can actually end games.
that cut was perfect
I do think before 9.5 the time to kill was getting pretty ridiculous. I do agree they went a little extreme. I would have liked something in the middle. Ive been playing smite for a while and a one shot meta is not my favorite 🤷🏻
Yeah for mages and crit hunters I feel like u took the skill out of it cause u only needed to hit 2 abilities and in a team fight the target is dead
Thank god we get a fun solo lane again.
A interesting point for me is when 9.5 happened it did help me as a much worse player and loved the changes. But as I got better at the game and saw the long term ripple effects. I definitely started seeing the negatives it brought, especially games never ending. I feel like now as a better player definitely gonna love people actually dying, micro mattering things of that nature
Yeah the 9.5 update wasnt the issue for solo support and tank it was the removal of bruiser items. Only people bitching are the ones who dont play tank.
That happened in 10.1 and was the pinnacle for tank builds before they nerfed all the mitigation items.
Glad shield alone gave you decent boxing potential, but the first few levels were definitely a slog.
There was this period where items were buffed and Medusa was so strong her dash didn't even matter, if you ganked her she could just turn around and kill you. Now it's probably gonna be similar.
The only thing I didn't like about pre 9.5 was how bursty it was In the late game
Yeah but at least the games would end, rather than the 45 minute back and forth slogs I get all the time.
It's funny how they're reverting the base stats but not the buff compensations so like I think everyone is just gonna hurt
It's a damn miracle smites been around over 10 years with the devs
Hey Alec, what did you mean by Heim is not going to get one shot as easily in the early game. Isn't the whole point of the revert is that it will be easier to one shot people because they're not as tanky? And with that considered, surely Heim is worse, because his TP isn't as guaranteed as it is now with the tankiness early? Not trying to argue, I just want to understand your point of view :)
Sorry, I meant not gonna get as one shot early game AS other characters will, since he’s inherently safer than them. Meaning, other characters get hurt a lot more by the changes. Hope that makes sense 😃
I'm fairly new to smite and idk how I feel about these changes. I can see it being fine early game, however late game I find everyone kills extremely fast already. I'd be full tank and barely live a Vulcan ult. Or adc and jg will melt my hp bar in 3 seconds holding left click. Plus team fights are gonna be even worse where you don't even get to play you just die instantly to the 6 different abilities cast on you at once 😆.
But who knows maybe it will be more fun as I've never actually played that patch.
Back then tanks were threatening due to everyone being squisher even with zero power.
Gods like Ymir and Cabrakan would be the bane of your existence if they built even a slight amount of power
Thanks for the slang heads up on what "calc" means
So many times the squishy would get out w 1hp off of 3 people dumping kits... I hated it
1:35 been playing since 2012, I had to quit with the 9.5 change because the game felt so weird and I wasnt having those frantic crazed start of the game drama and I didnt feel as strong as before, the thing is, i got used to it now and 9.5 is just superior, revert brings back the nuke coughing baby hydrogen bomb shenanigans I thought we all enjoyed, but now the mindgames and the "on the go" tactics are gone, now is just pray you dont get a slower teammate who is going to feed everyone and dont be caught up in the landmines, roles dont exist anymore, most tanks dont serve a purpose anymore, tierlists and metas are worse than before, there are gods who will be just dead meat on the team no matter the experience, and others, even though I main some of them, are going to break everyone appart, its just not enjoyeable, 9.5 already allowed pretty reasonable ways to nuke people if you played with head and built properly.
You really think now more "experienced players" will be happy with the revert? The thing is now the game is a f*/kfest again, Im sure you got to be used to it, but with all these new gods revert will never be the same, game is worse than last week and I hope they re-revert it, I got used to having to think instead of spamming nuke buttons
For those worried about getting one shot: buy a single defense item to be significantly less squishy.
This used to be much more commonplace on jungles and mids back in the day.
hour long video of alec speaking beautiful words in my ear??? Today is a good day
I'm excited for people to actually build tanky again, because carries are actually gonna be punishing tanks for building like 3 dmg items. Also tanks wont need all that damagein their build to do a decent amount of damage. Exciting stuff!
Put power back on hybrid items and tanks won't need "damage" items 🥴
The thing is, when I'm working, I just want to be at home doing fun stuff like playing smite.
I cant play games while working but I can listen to people talking about them. It makes me feel like I'm not working.
Wonder how this gonna affect my troll builds in arena like building everyone as tank/off tank but on the real side of the game the return of solo lane. Would prioritizing more offensive totem buffs be even better than sustaining? Lane bullies making more of comeback? More usage of solo lane teleporting to duo since they cooked their lanes? cant wait to see big shift and all knew kinds of salt.
Ah yes sweet pre 9.5 the days of deleting people at level 2 with Shiva are back
Honestly can't wait I thing anubis bully potential goes up NC he will got back to full clearing either is 1 n 3 ...late game he will still have problems but his early game will go back from mid to amazing
I missed the squishier minion waves so much. Makes so many more gods more viable.
Especially in solo. I feel classic smite solo always had the philosophy of “anything can work in solo”. The waves were squishy enough for pretty much any god in the game to clear the wave at least moderately well.
Excited!
I need to start catching the streams so I can watch this live geez
Is 9.5 when they lowered the power on like every item?
Nah 9.5 was when they buffed every god to have like 40% higher base hp and prots, they nerfed power on most items in like mid-season 10. In my eyes the power nerf is what they should have done in 9.5 so now that we've got the tankiness back close to 9.4 and before but with less stats in builds I think it'll feel great (haven't played it yet tho)
Only thing I want balance wise is for tanks to have their power nerfed, at least guardians, like across the board. Give them more tankiness if need be, but they should not be contenders for top damage AND be the hardest thing to kill in a game. Only in SMITE does the tank (guardian) role do the most damage often instead of the actual squishy damage dealing class.
Cthulhu 1 can proc manticore spikes now
I've been screaming at the top of my lungs that 9.5 was the worst patch of all time in smite history. God BLESS they're finally doing something about it. I'm glad you said it because now people will listen. People that didn't like pre 9.5 are the ass players because they are bad at positioning and got punished for it. That's how MOBAs SHOULD work ladies and gentlemen. A jungler should not full kit someone with no defense and they live. A mage should not full kit someone with 4 items and they live. That's terrible game design.
Is 9.5 reverted already? Or we still waiting for the revert?
I didn't really care after 9.5. Most of the time I played passive in the early game anyways so it didn't really affect me. I'm also a hunter main so I probably received the most benefit with 9.5
When does this go live?
Tuesday
I think you're way better at cerb than normal ppl not sure if I'm worried about any cerb who's name isn't fineokay
I think it'll be fun to have a lot more gods to run in solo now, like atlas or sm. I know I'm gonna try atlas lol
WE ARE SO BACK. Time to menacize the ranked queues.
Chronos in C tier is a bit questionable, early season 9 he was actually not bad during the double flat pen meta in mid lane (though instead of having nimble tahuti + power scaling telkhines, you have stronger poly and section 3 for better burst). I can see his duo getting potentially worse but I don't think it'll change much except his currently bad matchups like Anhur/Bacchus.
Im not saying 9.5 changes were right, but my favorite part about this game is the fights. Boxing with someone, getting into team fights, having a good time hitting abilities and the like is fun. Getting destroyed in .5secs is not.
So im not sure either pre 9.5 or post 9.5 are right. And i dont know that i can offer a solution, so i cant argue what they should do, but i do know getting 1 shot is no fun. Hopefully they find a good balance, but i do agree tanks building 1/2 dmg and still being unkillable needs fixing
As a joust player; maaaaaan I'm gonna miss the 9.5 changes. I have a lot of fun carrying my worse-at-the-game but more willing to experiment with spicy comps friend group, but without that tankiness of 9.5 changes, it's really hard to not just get focused down by 3 ultimates and get flatened by an enemy team putting every single resource into trading 1 for 1 with me and then deleting my team in my absence and snowballing out of control. U_U
Wooo, finally mages aren’t ultra tanky
Stop talking about Pele I need her to stay smites best kept secret lol
Rare hi rez W
So does this mean I can clear faster in solo now?
I disagree with your take on healing becoming weaker. I think with smaller HP amounts, the flat healing rates make more of a difference as they comprise a higher percentage of the total HP restored
Sure, but apart from executes and maybe items based on percent of someone’s current health, what does that actually matter?
2k hp is 2k hp regardless, what matters is the prots backing it up. That’s why effective health is the better thing to look at
I look at it more also like, it used to be your damage scaled your healing. When they removed that we saw aphro almost exclusively play in the support role. Doesn’t matter if she’s full prots or damage, she will still heal the same amount. So it’s better to just increase survivability. Healing will be weaker now because you just mitigate less. Say you heal for 100 and it mitigates a total of 150. Well now if it only mitigates 130, that heal is only worth 130.
Well no, it has more value but it's not keeping people immortal.
When does 11.6 go live ?
L Take, content creators are always delusional about the games they play. They're too close to see the big picture.
Will Chang’e just get “rundown”? Or, because everyone’s squishier, she’s going to be one shotting again…
Both
I’m not a fan of outplaying someone a million times and them still living. 9.5 made me stop playing and I have over 6600 hours in since 2017. This game got so stale since it took the fun away from brawling. Tanks are gonna be terrifying again as they should be
Ah Puch that was abuse he has a nuke 😭 especially if you build a lil lifesteal with him
I'm probably not going to come back for SMITE 1. I already wasn't liking time to kill compared to other games, and now it's going to be even worse.
I have a feeling that characters which can build tanky and still do high damage are going to completely dominate.
Can't carry if you get 2 tapped by my tanky boy.
When does this drop?
THE CUT..🥴
This is ageing well lol
and once again if you're new to the stream "Calc" is short for calculator, I'm just using slang.
When are we bringing back boots 🙂
I hope they never bring back boots unless they’re able to make them feel unique. It would be cool to have boots that did more than just gave you base stats, but i feel like they overall hurt build variety in the early game. Just my opinion though.
Boots are boring
OMG DAMM ADDBLOCKS BRO 3 IN A ROW?????? WHAT DID YOU DO
I’m just using slang guys
Glad to be a lab rat anything to keep the game interesting, time to find out if im bad
I've wondered, since smite 2 bans are not imported from smite 1, is DMBrandon banned from smite 2?
I'd be so funny if DMBrandon actually hired someone to be his manager and he became a counter persona focused on scandals and meditation. No streams, just edited videos to mask his evil persona. Imagine if he was forced into a character that's zen and meditates and uses ayuhuasca and you can see the rage behind his eyes, like a demon contained within mortal flesh trying to come out of hiding and get banned again.
I'd unironically watch it.
Devs don't do changes for fun, they look at numbers and what people say and want. 9.5 happend because almost every God in the game could oneshot you early or mid or late game, so sustain damage was useless, hunters were just objective and tower killers and they couldn't box anyone. Game was losing players and there were insane level of snowball. 9.5 for few months saved the game but some other stuff happened and lead to a balanced but stale state. I personally enjoyed smite after 9.5 so much. I just think they shouldn't have gave the health and protection to all Gods, they should have only gave it to mages, hunters and maybe assassins so guardians and warriors wouldn't become unlikable early game. Now as they revert 9.5 and snowball is a thing, you gonna die once or twice to a high pressure God and then the game will be over for you. So they need to buff comeback mechanics back to balance it out or half of matches will be f6 at 10. I'm not a ranked player, i don't say I'm 100 percent right, I'm just saying my opinion and what i felt playing smite past years. But call me bronze or bad for liking 9.5. Hitting your skillshots 3 or 4 times in a row is harder to hitting it one time.
I strongly believe Smite is too heavy on teamfight. We're rping as GODS for fucks sake, any 1 god should be able to wipe enemy team if played correctly... Smite beta and season 1 was just like that, they they begun to nerf everything to the ground bar occasional op releases...
Squishy (TRUE squishy) mages like Ah Puch and Eset are going to get OWNED, and I’m so excited! Strong poke gods should be punished more easily for their positioning, and not have strong health pools to compensate for lack of game awareness. WE ARE BACK!
(But nerf Janus, seriously? His 2 literally does more damage than some ults holy shit)
janus damage functions a lot like ra’s he only has 2 damage options since portal should mostly be used as mobility so it makes sense that the two abilities hit about as hard
Just wait enough for FO to cry about Mages took over solo lane cuz 9.5 reverted, now he talks like it's cool and it's about skill. We'll see.
2:00 🤨🤨
Day 6 asking for crit bake when she’s released in smite 2
Fineokay best pre 9.5 solo laner GOAT
Edit to add: Loki with the hidden blade mage build might be OP hidden blade will do 40% by itself. So manakens, jotuns, hydras, crusher, serated, and heartseeker. Idk early game would be kinda rough but late game Loki will be a menace
W update
Ah yes, the return of being one-shot gimmicked that the community has been dying for. I cant wait to get one-tapped by a Janus ult I couldnt have possibly reacted to, or to be killed by Sus combo faster than the human reaction time can process 🙃
Position better
Beads aegis
Both deaths prevented
@@WileyBoxx hard to position better against Janus unless youve got perfect ward vision. Also, what part of “faster than human reaction time” wasnt clear? Cant really beads aegis if you die before you can hit the keys. Im confused
@@blindidiot382Janus ult physically can’t one shot anymore right? Does max 70% or something?
@@s0uth9arkcartman21 Janus ult base can only do 70%, but with effects like Archmage’s gem and soul reaver it can go over that damage
@@blindidiot382this sounds like hyperbole and a skill issue
you like WHAT
Kumbha, Baka and Arachne should just be deleted from the game at this point. They've been terrible for years and are just noob-traps at this point. With no attempts to rework/balance them or anything they should just not be part of the roster because they're so much worse from everyone else in the cast.
Real ones remember Dzoni’s crazy Bakasura. Baka used to be good and it wasnt all that long ago
DAMM ADDBLOCKS
9.5 was so terrible
People really didn't grasp how hard 9.5 escalated. People who were bad at the game got worse progressively because now their bad plays weren't getting punished. People who were good at the game got better because they figured out how to still win lanes and snowball. This kept happening, map got bigger, objectives started to not matter, kills were irrelevant. But the bad players got worse. "Too many sweats in casuals!!!!!!". People most likely started getting banned for just losing their shit over people completely botting it out. And Hirez noticed.
Bad players like 9.5 because they get to just soak damage instead of getting better and, you know, not getting hit.
Increases TTK gives longer interactions and more back/forth rather than getting one shot which leads to an interactive exchange
@@mxm_prime2191Your idea makes sense in a vacuum but you have to balance allowing outplays and skill expression with that in the early game. After 9.5, you didn’t even have to use your brain in order to survive early game encounters. In solo, you could/can dump your entire kit 2 times with autos and often not even have kill potential.
If it’s too forgiving, which it was, you remove a more important part of the game in exchange for what you described, which is NOT good for a competitive/strategic based game.
Also what you’re describing is more important mid/late. The crux of 9.5 was that it ruined the early game (which is def. not a point you should have to have multiple kit dumps to even threaten people in a skill shot based game)
I mean logically speaking if people die less then they have more opportunities to learn how their gods work.
@@ThelordHayden34 why do u want people to die less if they don’t know how their gods work? Shouldn’t people who know how to pilot their gods be able to kill ones who don’t? 😂
Trueeee. Lol im cool with early game shifting back more snowball but maybe in future if its too crazy like around 15 to 20 min mark people start scaling more prots and health like after 9.5 to prevent mid to late game from going too crazy lol idk theres no perfect system created by people. Just trade offs and ways to abuse it no matter what
