When I was first learning to play solos, my brother said something like "That's where you bend the string". My dad was walking by and said "Don't bend them, you'll break them". 😀
So useful looking at it this way. Homework time for me.
Cheers, I can bend to the right note but putting a little vibrato on the top of the bend is a weak point for me. I'll keep working on it though.
There is a trick to this, which once you know it makes bend vibrato make sense.
Normal vibrato bends the note sharp slightly then releases it back to the original pitch. With bend vibrato, bend up to pitch and then let the note go flat ever so slightly then bend back up to pitch. If you try to bend to pitch and then bend a little more to sharpen it and release, it always sounds out of tune. I think I've got a video lesson covering this on my channel, I'll pop it in a reply if I remember 👍
@BudgetPedalChap Brilliantly explained, mate
Gary Moore was a master string bender. His ability to then add controlled vibrato was something special too! 👍
