I think there's a lot of different ways this offense can and will get a bit better as the season goes on, and I think it's pretty much 50/50 if Russell Wilson would make it better. My biggest area of concern is the defense. We all knew that our offense was going to be the weak part of our team and has been for years, but I don't think anybody thought our defense was going to be lit up like this by non championship-caliber teams. I think it's indicative of a larger defensive coaching and scheme issue.
Yes, we're still making splash plays with our many talented players, but it's unacceptable to be giving up 358 yards to the Joe Flacco Colts and 445 yards to a mid-tier cowboys team. With how much we're spending on our defense, it should be one of the best if not the best defense. If you don't believe me, just look at the third down efficiency given up the last two games.
I'm not into conspiracies but it felt as if the coaches set Justin Fields to fail. No Roman Wilson and GP limited in snaps, plus some suspicious play calling. Why would they do that? Maybe pressure front office to bring D. Adams and also make a change at QB so Fields doesn't get that many snaps and the deal with Chicago doesn't trigger the 6th to 4th rounder clause.

Colts game defense did struggle big time but they stopped the colts on the last two drives if i recall correctly. Fields cost us a the game against the Colts in the last 2 mins of the game. On a silent count or go on first sound or step he fields stepped and looked the other way and than looked back hit him in the facemask and than we lost 12 yards. Winner/starter QBs dont lose like that where they make the biggest fuck up or the biggest mistake. he has played 5 games for us and has 5 fumbles and 5 passing TDS 1 pick in 5 games played. game 1 we won because of Boswell and defense. game 2 Fields had a passing TD. defense played great. game 3 defense played well again and the offense did solid. game 4 defense was bad for most of the game and offense was bad till later in the game and than fields cost us the game in the final 2 mins. game 5 against the cowboys field had 131 yards and 2 touchdowns passing. That is pedestrian numbers. defense had like 3-4 sacks and 3 or more takeaways. Offense is the issue and fields is not a starter type QB. He is at best a back up type. I agree that our offense is struggling big time but alot of that is QB issues/ O line injuries/ and a lack of wr help other than Pickens. Friermuth is not being a big weapon yet other players have to step up. Najee cant do much in run game because as soon as he is getting the ball or he gets it and bam there are 3-4 defensive players there past the line.
