    Great little kit!. I was lucky enough to have one when I rolled up on an accident un the middle of nowhere and successfully treated 2 oeople while my wife went for help(no cell coverage). Just ordered the replacement kit. And I have one in all 4 cars of tge family. I was a medic for 15 years and have never seen this much quality in a kit so small. Absolutely the only kit you need.

    Nice video
    My Lady is and my Mother was a nurse so I let them make up kits for my truck and boat
    They used a back packs that were $10 each at Walmart
    They included scalpels , small roll of 2" and 3" wide duct tape and Para Cord
    Hand warmers , a tracheostomy tube , all the bandages and everything you showed
    I added a Army manual on emergency first aid , meds and water
    There was extra room , so a small roll of TP and paper towels was added
    The back pack fits under the rear seat in the truck , so it is always there
    OH a lot of stuff can be gotten at a Farm Supply store as they sell it for livestock

    Ended up using my Israeli bandage a few weeks ago. A guy got a gushing head bleed when he decided to be Arnold Schwarzenegger and speer another guy through a window at karaoke. I guess that'll teach him to not sing out of key lol 😜 Paramedics showed up & started unloading their bleed kits, i gave them the packaging for the Israeli bandage & they then put the kits away lol. Great times in a small town 😁👍

    This is a very good kit. I do have a recommendation or two
    1) I don't know which pack they are using but I but I would recommend upgrading to a Vanquest Fat Pàck 10. Then you would have room for a full size 4 x 36 SAM splint. You would also have for a roll of Coban or Ace bandages to secure it.
    2) Triangular bandages should always carried in pairs. Many Triangular bandaging techniques require 2 bandages. EX: a sling works best when you secure it with a swathe.
    3) A 4 x 4 burn dressing would be a good item to add.
    4) Last but not least, and I know this may sound silly, if you are travelling with female, you may want to carry a couple of feminine napkins. This could save everyone some embarrassment as well as provide extra bleeding control.

    As a trained First Aider , I can vouch for the validity of having a decent First Aid kit to hand when one is needed , not only is it of great benefit to those assisting an injured individual , it can also help to reassure the often traumatised patient ,which is never a bad thing . Ointments , salves and medicines of any description are not usually a part of a first aid kit in the UK and are not part of First Aid training , such things are usually left for a doctor to prescribe .
    I have My own supplementary kit which I add to My bag when traveling , this includes cough & sore throat lozenges Clove oil & cotton buds (for toothache) aspirins ( good for stroke / heart attack victims ) and savlon for minor cuts & grazes , I also add Antihistamine tablets and a couple of packets of dextrose tablets which can help with fatigue levels of the First aider and also when people are hyperthermic . But without a doubt the Most Valuable Asset I have whilst out & about is the Training, I have had over several decades of being a first aider . I encourage Everyone to do at least a basic First Aid course , you never know it might just save the life of one of Your loved ones . Thanks OG , great advice as always , catch You next episode . Shoot Straight Stay Safe & Stay Well .

  • @StrangerOman

    Looks like a decent med kit. Not only you were able to close it back but I think it got enough room for some extra personal additions like pill blister or simple bandage.
    And of course training is everything. But even without a training, it's better to have some medical supplies than none.

    funny story ... was driving cross country when we pulled over in the middle of the desert to look a t a map at like 2am. so weird out west in the middle of the desert, you can see head lights coming at you from miles away, but when they turn in a direction, all of a sudden they just blink out of sight. well i guess these police like using that tactic and turned off their lights miles away, drove past us on the highway with light out came around us, flashed ALL their fkn lights on us at once from behind and scared the living bejesus out of us. then came out with their shotguns and weren't too nice about the whole situation ...kinda funny how, "its up to you" because "no one is coming" but only when you need one ...

    i love how different the kits are in the EU and the US. here we have more bandages and less "specialized" stuff. also nearly no plastic vacuumpackaging. everything is in paper.
    the one thing i wish would be normal here as well, is the "CPR mask", which is a great tool.
    was finally introduced as a part of the curriculum in the bi-yearly, mandatory first aid course, sadly it is still not mandatory as per law.

The Chevy truck went across the road and stopped the guy was knocked out and we couldn’t get him awake he’d been dranking he hit his head hard on the steering wheel. We finally busted the back passenger glass out it was a four door truck. It took 10 minutes to find something to bust the glass out I seen the yellow thing on your first aid kit and how they bust the glass easy I ordered two of them and got one on my key chain

    I would also add a cheap watch to the outside of the kit, to compliment the tourniquet, you may not be wearing a watch, and be using your phone for calling emergency services at the time, so having a back up is real life & limb saver, maybe also a pair of tweezers for splinters, often forgotten, and a head torch, accidents aren't a daytime event.

Glad to see that you are prepared and have set your family up as well. As a guy who drove a patrol car for almost 24 years, I can tell you that having a fully equipped emergency kit, proactive AND reactive, is about as important as it gets.

    I missed the part where it is water proof. Looks like a great kit.
    Not sure about the safety light stick! There has to be something better that a 1 time use light stick.
    There are some products that are lightweight and can stitch open wounds and stuff for severe wounds.

    I have a fun suggestion for an episode. How about how to make "the best", or "longest lasting" time capsule. We all want to survive alive, of course, but we're all going to die, so it would be so satisfying if someone found something I wrote today, one thousand years from now. Buried, encased in concrete, encased in lead/iron/gold?, a 3/4" section of pvc pipe with a scroll in it times one hundred buried in my backyard? How about leaving some DNA in the capsule.......maybe a fleshlight could work as a capsule?
    I'm just spitball'n, you're the kind of guy who can tell me the best way to survive longer than most. Catastrophe's are common, relatively speaking. We're due.
    I told you, it's a fun idea. You're welcome.
    Jeff could make some 3/8"? pvc shotgun sized scroll time capsules that can be shot into the ocean?, or forest?, or???? Responsibly of course. You're welcome Jeff.

      Enjoy your travels as well. If you end up in Cleveland Ohio before then let me know. I'll buy you a good burger. Cleveland only has 1 good thing and that's great food. It's become very ghetto here. Dangerous.
      Altho Cedar Point in Sandusky is the world's #1 amusement park. That's 70 miles west of Cleveland. That's fun. When I lived here years ago we had a yearly pass and went several times a year. That's something that should be on every bucket list IF you like psycho roller coasters.

    where do you think the best place to keep this in your car would be? Of course you wouldn't want it to inaccessible in the event that you crash and there is body damage to your vehicle.

    • @OGsDangerShow
      @OGsDangerShow  Год назад +1

      I keep mine behind the back seat of my truck in the hollow cargo space. Easily accessible and stil locked away from view and not rattling around the cab.

    • @josephbennett3482
      @josephbennett3482 7 месяцев назад

      Keep it in a location where it's easily accessible within reach such as between the rear seats up against the center console and attached to something so it doesn't move around and get lost or become a projectile during a wreck or attach it to the back of the driver or passenger seat , or to make it even more accessible you can mount it directly on top of the center console with small bungee cables so anyone in the vehicle can quickly access it in a hurry.

    That looks like a pretty good first aid setup. Unfortunately, I don't believe that it would've been much help for that piece of pork you shot up in the last video, but even in that scenario, you could've utilized the "fatal" blanket.

  • @ScottKenny1978

    You should have two first aid kits.
    One is the general first aid stuff, ace wraps, bandaids, etc, for minor injuries.
    Then there's the trauma kit. That's the one with a SOF-T or two, some chest bandages, and other stuff for major injuries. The kind that will kill you if you don't do something about them.

    • @OGsDangerShow
      @OGsDangerShow  Год назад +2
