Found this online "This model came with an onboard tuner powered by the 9v battery and activated by pulling out the volume pot." Assume thats what was supposed to happen but been gooched. Cheers Dave, Paul in the UK
Buddy will be missing his peacock. It lived in his fake battery compartment. Spring is in the air. 3 springs, but you only need 2.
The battery was for an onboard tuner that was displayed on the volume knob, which seems to be removed maybe.
I'd watch Dave doing nothing but fret erasing and pickup adjusting for an entire video. There, I ve said it.
The pickup tapping sessions are my favourite. 🎸
ASMR?
Even with a trem, I set it up like a hardtail. Never been a fan of the trem bar. I can do almost as much without one. I usually buy guitars that are hardtails but every now and then I get one with a trem. Had a Jackson V with one.
Sadly, some guitars cannot be had as hardtails and *many* hardtails are not available with low, Fender-style bridges and flat neck angles. The only vibrato bridge which I will not treat as a hardtail is the recessed Floyd guitar I just bought for the sake of having a guitar with which to be silly.
Hard tail ♥️ but I always keep a decent trem equipped ax in the arsenal just in case
Wilkinson, Floyd , Khaler or Washburn wonderbar but Fender and Bigsby not so much 🤷
I've got a Godin XTSa synth enabled guitar with the exact same black maple finish as this and I love it :)
I have an old Godin tele coming your way soonish. Nice job, Dave.
Uh oh , Is it frets? How well do you like your Godin Tele btw?
@@nocturnalferalguitarist Just a general once over and set up. It's not bad. I have it as my at-hand workhorse.
I watched this video while leveling frets on my first guitar kit build, something I would not have done before finding this channel. Such a wealth information, given freely to anyone who will listen. Been learning and practicing for a bit now inspired in no small part by your pragmatic approach and things have gone much better than I'd have dared imagine.
For second I thought you were gonna do a Jimi Hendrix at Monterey when you broke out the lighter fluid. Jimi used Ronsonol as well.
I picked up a Godin Exit22S a couple weeks ago. It has the same battery chamber and the drill hole to the body cavity. In the cavity, there is a piece of masking tape where the hole is. Weird, but the option of active pickups is there. Btw, it's an awesome Canuckian guitar!
I've bought a couple of things from Solo, a Wilkinson bass bridge and a CuNiFe Fender pickup. Good folks to deal with.
Thanks for sharing!
Dave I understand your distaste for trem springs that are unbalanced but the "more loose" spring is definitely contributing to the overall tension. BTW i really am an engineer and I have a lot of expensive files and gauges. beams and radius blocks that I would not have felt comfortable using unless I had your vids for support.
If you can depress the bar and knock the spring off with your pinky finger, it's not adding tension when you need it. It's actually releasing tension when the trem is engaged, which is terrible for tuning stability.
Set the guitar up, tune it to standard, demo the guitar and then remove the superfluous spring and show us/yourself that the spring does nothing.
it does nothing to add to equal tension..learn some physics and mechanics and get back to me..then GFO
@@DavesWorldofFunStuff love your channel dave but to say something does nothing is a new realm for me
Interesting message on the shirt! 🙃
I bought a used SD 2 years ago. I like it, it's pretty decent.
nice work Dave!
Im still laughing about the butter chicken gang moniker from friday night... great guitars. Godin are top quality.
Now that was funny when you pulled the battery box 🤣🎸
Currently have a bent trem arm, was wondering how you were gonna straighten it. Guess i gotta figure out my own top secret method to straighten it lol, although its not hurting me any, and i suppose "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" Good vibes only to you and yours.
I'll show you later
Doesn't Godin make Seagull acoustics? Well buil (and no sprouts) t but took truss adjustments and saddle trimming to make it more playable. Good value well done 🍁🇨🇦
Great video.
Thanks!
never seen a godin like that mine arre always very nice
Never played a Godin guitar……twenty minutes after the Ambassador Bridge, you figure there’d be a few around here.
Mr Dave doing his stuff,
Barking mad, ruff, ruff, ruff,
Fix yer guitar quick as a wink,
Does it all without making a stink,
(guitar lead, bass solo)....
Wow your my Hero,Dave!!✌️
You and Skully should write a book. What setup does X______ artist use? You could blend personal experience with research.✌️
no person would pay attention :(
Good evening Dave.
I like the view you hardly ever use
That's not Spring in the air, it's POLLEN !
Does that battery box have some kind of stealth contact point built into it? That little notch thing in front?
Dave, Didn’t you use to work with a crew of killer dwarfs?😳😳
Well this was one serious gooch chase.
Just ordered a sticker Dave. BTW When I click on your Patreon link it comes up in Spanish. ¿Qué coño...?
that would be you
@@DavesWorldofFunStuff Maybe my computer is trying to tell me me something. Can someone else check the "davey4557" Patron link. I'm getting the website in Spanish 😗
what is the size of the tremolo arm? the original seller lost theirs
What
you put your weed in it
For another "Gooched" reference, there is a YT video that shows a robber getting "Gooched" after he attacks an off duty police officer in Brazil.
