1 week Norwegian Fjords Cruise on P&O Iona (Part 1)

- It's here! My feature length vlog of our 1 week cruise onboard P&O Iona as we sailed the Norwegian Fjords on a roundtrip from Southampton UK. This is part 1 of 2 so much sure you look out for the second part in a couple weeks - subscribing and turning on notifications will help and by giving this video a cheeky little like you show your support which I appreciate very much. In this vlog I show you the embarkation process, lots of tips on how to make the most of a P^O cruise, from the app to booking restaurants, reducing wait times and making smart decisions about your excursions. We experience a sea day on the North Sea, the ports of Stavanger and Olden with some incredible tours to see mountain goats, waterfalls and even to the top of a snow capped mountain via one of the steepest cable cars in the world. And that's just the beginning! I hope you enjoy and get a sense of what cruising the Fjords is like through this vlog. Oh, and stay tuned until the end for some bloopers!

Brilliant vlog, we always stay in an inside cabin, it's always so quiet and peaceful to sleep in. We spend so much time enjoying the ship and ports, that apart from sleeping, showering,changing etc. we can use the money saved toward another cruise. Keep up the great work Jamie Xx

I've had to cancel my Iona Norway cruise this Summer, so good to use this video to get a taste of what it would've been like. I'm dying to try P&O's Iona/Arvia product - the ships look excellent!
We have enjoyed both for sure!
We were on Iona in April, in an inside cabin and we loved it. Mid ship, close to the lifts and launderette. Would do again in a heartbeat

Loved it Jamie. We did it two weeks before you. Still beautiful but not as good weather as you. The waterfalls were not in full flow because the snow was still frozen higher up. I'm looking forward to part 2 😊

We are just back from Norway (yes the timing of the storm wasn’t ideal but didn’t spoil it). We travelled on Iona and loved it. Thank you for your tips and many videos that helped make a good holiday, amazing and allowed us to make the most of our time.
We loved grabbing a cheeky drink at Sindhu before our nights out. .We also loved finding that all your dining suggestions (included in our faire and not) were all on point. Sindhu, amazing and our favourite of all, even topping the Epicurian taster menu.
We managed to book some tours outside of P&O, which saved us a fair few quid. On one we managed a saving of nearly £200 for four of us, so I owe you a drink when I see you.
While onboard we booked Arvia for the med cruise next year. So I’m off now to find your videos covering that now.

Thank you for this great cruise for Norway, we are looking at an inside cabin for our honeymoon next summer, but think the fjords might be worth having a balcony for. We have never been on a cruise before and worry about getting bored on sea days, but looks like there is a lot to do rather than just eat! Thanks for the great vlog

It’s dockside so once you collect your sky lift ticket you hop ok the bus

Well I'm sorry but I have to point out and complain about this video/vlog.
The reason being that everytime you produce a video we immediately have to log on and book cruises 🤣.
We did the same cruise on the 27th May 2023.
We did the Leon sky lift which was as you guys pointed out amazing.
Have been cruising to Norwegian Fjords 20yrs plus and it never disappoints.
Inside cabins which you pointed once, or was it 20 times are OK however, Fjords balcony are a must in my humble opinion.
I'm missing Iona and will be booking tomorrow so thanks for that 😉

We are on this cruise now. Possibly the worse week ever for July. Heavy rain and cold every day so far. Expected a few showers but it’s been constant. Now down with norovirus so isolated to our room.
On a plus, it’s a beautiful ship and all has been good with P&O. Their care in our illness has been exceptional.
Have told the wife I’m never cruising north again, not even in the summer.

@@vinerscott the ship is fantastic. Food was fine. Didn’t see any issues with staff shortages. The weather isn’t looking much better for them sadly. Tbh, we missed the buzz around the ship which you normally get before ports. The weather did put a dampener and people’s spirits generally but no matter how they try you can’t change the weather. Pretty confident they will have a great time. Just don’t get sick. That was what destroyed our time away. Lovely cabins but you get sick of seeing it after 3 days. We did get complimentary room service though 😎

Went to a cruise sale event today. The lady suggested this cruise, which I would never have thought of and it is cheaper than the TUI cruise. Might be going next year in August for my 60th birthday and for the first tome.

Great vlog as always Jamie, Love you and Mafoo. Your excursion to Lysfjord was so much like the P & O, just so much cheaper. When I went last June, the baby goat was small. They're so cute running down. The waterfall had a lot of water, but it had rained a lot. I did the Sky lift was well, absolutely phenomenal. Just booked Britannia for next May to the Fjords. Did you watch the locals sailing away from Olden? When's part 2?
Yes P&O use the same company for the Lysefjord cruise - we booked on to the non-P&O cruise slot though! Part 2 in 2 weeks hopefully 🤞🏼

@@roseevans2289 you’ll see in the vlog that we booked the Stavanger boat trip the night before after the captain had told us a confident time of arrival. RIB tour was booked through P&O in Hellsylt because availability there was so limited

Hi Jamie, so chuffed to have found this series, we are taking this cruise on Iona in April and can't wait! I have a couple of initial Qs, I'm sure we will think of more, but I was wondering:
- how far in advance would you recommend booking the excursions?
- the wifi you show at the start, is that just for the restaurant bookings etc or does it work to use social media etc.? As far as i could see do far, you have to pay for wifi? So was just wondering if there was actually free wifi on the ship

Fantastic videos! I am thinking of taking my first cruise holiday, and lived in Norway as a kid for a couple of years so thought be nice to go back. Odd question, are there any supermarket type places near the ports at all? My brothers have already asked me to get favourite sweeties from their childhood! Thankyou.
Hmmm I’m honestly not sure about supermarkets - I don’t recall seeing any but then I wasn’t looking for them either. I’d have thought Haugesund and Stavanger most likely to have them

As soon as we were able to get off the ship, just after 9am, we took a shuttle to the sky lift

We arrived and were allowed off the ship at about 9am and the first shuttle was already waiting!
