also the fact that we managed to find info about her early on but in her case she never heard about him for 500 years, also i think that she witnessed the tragedy that happened in Khaenri'ah which made her even more depressed, with Dain being also in shock and depression over his nation falling so both were in tragic situation neither of them was in position to be cheering for the other T^T

@@Aurora-qh2ju It's really sad. It is at least assumed that The Abyss sibling, but I will be using Lumine from now on for them. She started her journey in Khaenri-ah, where she met Dain. With how many people hold Mondstadt as a special place as we woke up there and started our journey there, I can assume that Khaenri-ah was special to Lumine as well, obviously as she was so upset over what happened to it. Her journey was hopeless; she saw the worst of the world with no hint or hope of her brother being okay. She just had to have faith, but she wouldn't know for sure for at least a long time. We don't know when she figured out her brother was asleep, and even if she did, she had no idea when he would wake up. Aether has seen, in his long journey, the best in this world. We made dear friends, and we see that every person, great or small, has a story to tell. I have a theory that the journey Lumine was on was the opposite; she only saw the worst that the world had to offer, never truly connecting. She may have thought she found a place she belonged in this world in Khaenri-ah, only to lose it by the end and lose everyone she possibly cared for. That could have been the start or end of her journey, we don't know, and while I adore Dain, he certainly is not the best when it comes to comfort, and after Khaenri-ah, he would have his own issues to deal with, and he would be in no place to offer comfort, positivity, and hope to Lumine as he too was in despair.

I think Dainslief made Lumine believe he knew where Aether was, when in reality he only needed her for some reason (maybe her powers). When Lumine found out she obviously felt betrayed, which would explain her hatred towards him
My theory is that dain was the one who alerted the archons about kheanriah causing an imminent abyss disaster, and he told them wanting to protect kheanriah and hoped Celestia could stop the disaster from happening, but it was too late and it happened anyway, and lumine found that out and felt he betrayed kheanriah.
One thing for sure is about those clothes colors Dainslief's clothes is blue, and dark which guiding you to the darkness Where he is guiding you about the truth about the world, discuss about the Khaenri'ah, and learning about all sorts of the people. Paimon's clothes is white, and bronze which guiding you to the light Where she is guiding you about all sort of mystery of the world, discuss not about Khaenri'ah but about your journey, learning about all sort of fun.
Say what you think about Paimon. You can dislike her for being annoying, childish, or irritating to deal with. But never forget the fact that she is the closest friend for the MC Traveler that stuck with them from the beginning. Without her, MC Traveler would not have a companion who taught them the language of Teyvat, a reliable guide to traverse an arduous journey, and a friend who keeps them mentally stable through harsh moments like what we saw in this short. Paimon may not be the companion we want, but she is definitely the one that the Traveler needs and deserves it.
People only hate paimon because of how the game uses her as a dialogue messenger. In a proper story telling in maybe an anime people will definitely love her lol.
I have never disliked Paimon and am actually confused why people do. She feels like a little sister to me, who is really energetic and talkative and wants to go on adventures with her big brother so she pulls him along so that they can have fun together.
Paimon is cute and funny. I dont disslike her. And for really i dont get why people dont like her. For reall she is cool. But im afraid at what she passed, i mean her past. Like she sayid in the quest we had on Meruside about a black stone that was showing the past, she said that she saw bad things that she didnt even knew that was happened and she was scared. At that moment i wanted to hug her. Paimon is the cute little thing you want to protect. But the same goes for Dain too. He is like that because he lost everything, if he have a little thin sting to grab on, he is afraid to lose it/cut it. Dain must be sereous for many reasons. Actually he needs to be protected as well 😂 Sorry for the spoilers or anything.
1:15 Aether is having a fun discovering the world, and just goes where his journey takes him. While Lumine has a mission, but is hesitant if she should keep going, having to be peer pressured/reminded by dain to continue their journey. Because lumine wants to travel with her twin, and is sad without him travelling with her or maybe she is hesitant about their objective, while aether is excited and wishes to meet lumine to be together and travel with her again, so he just keeps going. Lumine thinks she is getting farther away from aether on her journey with dain, while aether thinks his journey with paimon will be to one day be beside his sister again. Paimon is a good guide leading aether to his home, lumine, while dain is a good missionary, always on the path to pursue their mission and basically knows alot of knowledge as he is the boughkeeper.
Arlecchino shows that better, since she is an outlander, not a descender. Though I think it is more that something happened with the abyss twin's data (neither traveller is canon), I don't think it is giving up at all since AT did reach the end of their journey, just concluded that Celestia was oppressing Khaenriah and opposing them instead. The traveller hasn't completely learned the truth of the world yet, though. But we know them not having a vision is a big thing since descenders cannot have visions (why Arlecchino isn't and will never be one.) Neither Aether nor Lumine is canon as traveller/abyss twin, but they didn't want to portray Dainsleif as possibly gay so I guess they featured Aether lmao, since there's clear romantic overtones between him and the AT. Lumine being the MC would make more sense and be better tho, let's be honest. And Dainsleif is Scandinavian, he is going to be a little 💅✨.
The traveler shows up at the right time and place. Where huge disaster already pass, relatively peaceful and with Paimon. While abyss sibling arrive during or near the cataclysm where every nation is almost brought to ruins. It is understandable if the traveler view is a hopeful one compared to the hopelessness of abyss sibling's.

I just realized that we never experienced game from lumines side, it could be wayyyy more dark and desperate, traveling the whole world while not able to find the slightest trace of your dearest sibling. No way she may change that much in 500 years of depression and stagnation

I like how we know that Abyss Twin changed in Sumeru, and so it's only at the end, in the Sumeru desert, that we get shown that angry & determined look in Lumine's face. Very nice detail.
Seems like Lumine either gave up on her journey or succumbed/lost to the heavenly principles and thus became "part" of Teyvat, while Aether still has the chance to change things if he can make it all the way to the end.
I subscribe to the theory that the Abyss Sibling’s remains are the Gnosis and they were brought back to life by Khaenriah 500 years ago. In truth it hasn’t been 500 years since they entered Teyvat, but 3000
I see a comment that mentioned Paimon is truly the best travel companion we could get when landing in teyvat ever. And yes. *She is* No hate in Dain, but we can see how Lumine change every scene. Growing determined, focused, yet bitter the longer she traveled through Teyvat once without any sort of clues about our situation in the slightest. Dain also keep his distance, either out of respect or he's just keeping the cards too close to his hands, hence why the abyss sibling have a fallout with him and going as far to spite him by becoming the leader of the abyss order or something that made them be recorded in Teyvat's irminsul. Aether, or traveler, always had Paimon. From back then till now. Aether is sad, wondering what would he met or face next, the conspiracy he must deal with the Fatui and the gods he met not giving him enough answers that he seeks to finally reunite with his siblings. it's obvious that he missed lumine. Painfully so when they always been together, but Paimon encourage us to keep going, that our journey has yet be completed and we must go on in search of Lumine/abyss sibling both to find em and the true nature of Teyvat that keeps being hinted at since our crossing path with the abyss sibling. Paimon might be annoying, but she's there for us when we needed by Forging bonds with others, meeting wonderful scenery, sad departures, learning what's going on, and lend a hand where it matters... and maybe change Teyvat for the better. Perhaps I'm reading too deep into it, but maybe Hoyo hint that the true nature of this world not some huge reveal or mind blowing twist, but a story of searching family or place where we keep moving forward and never stop despite how hard and unforgiving things could be. As a genshin player, we may flame hatred or being dramatic to the max. But we all agree, that this journey is has yet to be completed. There's more to see, more to explore, more to see till the end both in game and real life. Genshin taught me that over the years, and those who are reading this. May your travel be safe and moving forward to reach the ending you all sought.

Tbh I don’t think Dain the ally of Lumine or Aether. I think that he had his own agenda, and when Lumine learned that agenda, she turned on him, and joined the abyss order. We know Dain did something to betray the people of Khanri’ah and whatever it was really bad. When Aether met Dain, he was in Mondstat looking for Aether, but found Aether had already found Paimon and Lumine was watching Aether, so he couldn’t take Aether on whatever journey that he took Lumine on. I think Dain isn’t interested in being friends with the travelers, he wants their power for some reason, and Lumine refused. Now he’s trying to convince Aether to join his side, while Lumine needs her brother to travel the world and learn it’s secret to make his choice. Dain is super sus and I think he will become a tragic antagonist, who will try to use the fourth descender to fulfill his goal.
Dainsleif: _keeps complaining to Lumine everytime regarding what happened to his homeland_ Paimon: _refuses to elaborate who she was_ It must be depressing for Lumine to never have a clue where her brother is for hundreds of years. She probably doesn't want to get close to Aether for all this time after he woke up because she's already pursuing something else now, but Aether suddenly just pops up and she's upset with Dain because he didn't immediately inform her that he had found Aether regardless of the fact Dain didn't journey together with Lumine now.
My headcanon here is they're just showing the times when she was particularly sad. I mean, going by this video, it doesn't look like Aether is having a good time either.
@@903IDFOLEYThat could absolutely be it. The lost twin did seem very happy and excited to talk about the Traveler to the aranaras. However I do remember Dain mentioning how they got tired/exhausted after their travels, or something along those lines. Maybe the only moments that brought them joy was when they talked about their twin, and simultaneously, the moment they thought about them could also be the most sorrowful moments of their journey.
She enjoyed it but eventually lost hope and broke down. 500 years and zero signs you'll ever re-unite with your loved one would destroy any person. Most people would've given up or gone mad well before the 100 year mark.

Well, Dainslief and Lumine journey only begin after the fall of Khaenri'ah, so we can imagine how depressing it was for both of them, especially Dainslief. The only question is, why Aether didn't wake up during Dain's journey with Lumine? And when Aether was trapped, was that during cataclysm? Or after cataclysm?
I think that maybe because the unknown goddess captured the traveler after his sister there was a very long period of time between the awakening of the two of them
Lumine woke up first and got to explore Khaenria first i think. And then the missing info here is when Aether wake up later like did he also manage to explore Khaenria a little bit before the cataclysm happened, hence their failed attempt to escape Teyvat and got captured both by the unknown god which led to lumine, again, waking up first than Aether. Then they started their journey on Teyvat itself along with Dain. base on our journey in game so far it seems that Aether (as the Traveler) doesn't knew about Khaenria that much (before the first quest where we saw dain imply that he is indeed researching Khaenria stuffs even without paimon). Then the chasm quest with dain came. We got to know here that Aether manages to give Lumine the flower on her head that came from Khaenria, implying that they did spend some little time on that place with their twin, which for me got me also confused. Or Traveler is not spilling a lot of beans despite we are playing as them.

And if this is 100% canon it also confirms that ather and lumine spent a good amount of time in teyvat and more importantly kaenriha before they were sealed by the sustainer of heavenly principals as in one of the flashbacks we see aether with his original Element put an inteyvat (those weird khanriah flowers) in lumines hair pretty much confirming that they both spent time together in khanriah But those "flashbacks" could also be what if scenarios so its not confirmed and the canoniscity of this short also isnt known
I also had a thought where both did spend time together in teyvat, but while they were about to leave for another world, the heavenly principles stopped them.
It has already been confirmed in game that they spent a short amount of time before they were forced to leave, but then their path was blocked by the unknown god and then they fall right back down into Teyvat. It's literally in the traveler's voicelines😭🙏
Well, technically when you play Lumine, Aether did put the flowers in her hair regardless. It seems he did that even when he's the Traveler and she the Abyss twin.
@@kiyomi_kamimoto i mean this is suposedly before even the cataclysim and in other "memories" both had their original element just as they did at the start of the game so at this point in time it doesnt really matter to much who the abyss twin is because none of that has happened yet and another thing i just saw (on reddit) one of those flashbacks takes place in inazuma city which could then also link back to a weird dialouge option where kazuha asked the traveller if they had met the electro archon before, before going to inazuma where the traveller said something along the lines of "yes but it was a long time ago" which then again gives some more weight to theese beeing actual memories instead of what ifs because of that one memory taking place in inazuma city
@@alphalp.4454 About the dialogue, no. I think I know which one you're talking about, but you remember it a little wrong. I believe it was with Kazuha, when he talks to them about Inazuma. At some point, they say they "might" have met already, because the Traveler is referring to the Unknown God. The Traveler is suspecting the Unknown God to be one of the Archons, in that case, the Electro one. Here is the dialogue : "Kazuha : It goes without saying that the people locked within Inazuma do not fare well these days. Paimon : Sounds a lot like something the god you encountered in the beginning would do. Kazuha : Oh? Have you encountered the Electro Archon before? Traveler : I'm not sure. / It was already a long time ago now."
It seems like Dainsleif just wasn't a support system for Lumine. Whenever she needed someone, he wasn't there nor was anyone else. Maybe that could be a reason for turning to the Abyss.
@@geovanagama1 Both Lumine and Dainsleif needed a third person to act as emotional support for them after the tragedy they suffered through. Unfortunately, there was no one there. It makes me wonder what specifically made Lumine hate Dainsleif so much, and why he turned his back on her and the Abyss Order. They may have not supported each other like they should have, but they were all they had, so it must've been very bad.
I mean I can see why many would prefer Dain as their travel-companion over Paimon, but to Paimon seems like the companion who overall had done better in keeping Traveler's spirits high while Dain seems like someone Lumine is together in misery with yet there's not a whole lot of cheerful interaction between them. I wonder just how significantly familiar yet as well as different Traveler and Paimon's growing relationship will be to that of Abyss-sibling and Dain's sour one.

My current understanding of timeline - The twin was summoned to Khaenri'ah - Spent some time there (since aether had memories of khaenri'ah) - Then for some reason had to hybernate or just sleep. - The War started and Gods descended on Khaenri'ah - Then Lumine woke Aether up to leave Teyvat immediately - The Sustainer stopped them while they were leaving - Aether most likely lost his power because he was attacking the sustainer with his full power but got blocked (he was heavily breathing after the attack) - Both Siblings then got trapped and separated - Then Lumine woke up first 500 years ago less (probably because she didn't fight much on that battle and had enough power to broke out hence why she still has her powers) - Then searched for Aether for years with Dain - Then half way through, she most likely changed her mission, (since the reflection indicated that the twin stopped while we continued) most likely where Lumine had a talk with the Clothar since she stopped on sumeru based on the reflection with npc having sumerian attire. - Then most likely 499-500 years later Aether woke up without his powers. (499 years because aether said he traveled a bit alone without direction before meeting paimon, just an estimate) - Then fished up paimon then the journey starts.

If there are plans to continue the game after the last chapter, it would be fun to see the other siblings' journey while being able to meet the characters who died in the current version.
I guess Dain was simply a bodyguard the King deployed to monitor Lumine. For the best use of her power for Khaenri'ah, Dain must do every thing to prevent Lumine getting too close to Teyvat local people, so that Lumine might be willing to use her power to fight for Khaenri'ah, and didn't feel guilty to kill the people under the rule of seven Archons
I think the reason why Lumina stopped walking (on the water reflection) was because of what she experienced with Caribert. Notice how the NPCs around them were from Sumeru
Hoyoverse should reunite the twins and that they finally defeat the Unknown god with their combined powers along with Paimon and Dainslief fighting alongside them, then the twins can finally leave Teyvat to other worlds and Paimon and Dainslief will go with them as eternal companions

LET ME COOK!!!!! 1:15 On the contrary, I think that the reason why Lumine stops walking and Aether keeps walking is because that is when Lumine decides to parts waves with Dainsleif and begins her journey towards becoming the abyss princess.
I fear for Lumine tbh, she is using the abyss power to obtain her goal and it seems like she was trying to save Khaenrians maybe she wanted to turn them back. As you can see right from the very start, Dain’s goal was to save her, he also said that Khaenrians already had their time and the means of saving them is to off them. Lumine and Dain probably reached their goal to finding the way of saving them but at the expense of Lumine, and that’s why Dain wanted to stop her to save her.
Never even thought about that how that feel before. But the sibling had to spend so long looking for the other sibling without even the slightest clues, except that it's celstias fault. While, for our journey, our sibling reveals themselves early and gives us a goal to strive for before any true depression could settle like it did for the sibling. On top of our sibling being a descender and the other sibling being an outlander. Another thing is that Dain asks if we think the sibling betrayed us also hints to me that we will take the same side as the sibling in the end.
The Riddlers have said that the universe is but a dream. And what the main character has experienced, by looking in their sibling's point of view of their past travels, I would really say that maybe the Universe is but a dream indeed. And that the time experienced when completely grasped, is also an illusion.
The abyss twin change a lot since traveler twin last saw them because the abyss twin end their journey 500 years ago never knowing where their sibling are or how are they doing, while the traveler twin just started their journey at least being able to reunite with their sibling (even if abyss twin left them) and at least know what are they doing
Why is everyone assuming Dainslef is bad? Abyss twin wants revenge for the destruction at khanrhea and is angry because Dain doesn't want the same. He probably doesn't want to stir shit up and cause another cataclysm that will affect innocent people more than the archons. While the Abyss twin wants to re-order the system of Teyvat.
The one thing I noticed people talking aren't about is the fact that Lumine woke up at dawn and Aether at dusk. She was the beginning and we are the end. And I sure do hope this end isn't a painful one...

Ah thanks this explains a lot because ive been wondering about the separation whereas when they were separated by the heavenly principles and when lumine began her journey i was wondering where aether was and i thought "is he sleeping all these 500 years??" haha so it turns out they were separated by time... And started their journey with 500 years apart
i think the real lumine died and the part where she stops walking in the shadow on aether kind of shows it, nahida says that information regarding lumine is that she was "summoned" in the abyss and lumine's existence before that is not there. it seems that lumine was in fact a descender which is why her information is not there in irminsul but after she was summoned in the abyss, her information starts to appear in irminsul. so lumine died and her fragments are being collected as gnosis to resurrect her (which is btw the next archon quest title) and the current lumine is artificial. also childe might be the soul/vessel that abyss might use to ressurect lumine?
If people think that dainsleif acted as a guide to the abyss twin like paimon is for us but betrayed them in the end doesn't this imply that at some point paimon might turn out to be something else and betray us like him.

So you're telling me traveler was sleeping out in the open field for 500 years and no one attack this mf. I can only assume Venti was the one who protected the traveler since he prob was at mondstat or near it and that is Venti's dominion. This could also be the reason why he says, "We meet again". I mean, i know Venti was also asleep during that time, but it isn't entirely impossible that he saw us before Venti also went into slumber.
Another possibility is we met Venti during the cataclysm while we were trying to escape only to end up being thrown back by the unknown God. Venti might have help us try to escape as we don't really know Venti motive and he is unpredictable.
So what is the Chronological timeline of the Twin's arrival? Because in the Intro the Twins were leaving Teyvat and got jumped by the Sustainer so that means the Twins already traveled Teyvat completely? And then the two got captured and Abyss twin got put in Khaenriah while the Traveler got put in Mondstadt, so does that mean The Twins memories of Traveling Teyvat got erased?

I think those weren't flashbacks, rather, I think they were "What ifs". Like, what if they entered teyvat without the unknown god or the cataclysm. In other words, its the "Road that wasn't taken".
I wanna ask a question. Why do we assume that lumine is also looking for aether? In the opening, the abyssal twin is the one that disapppears first. So, for all they know their other twin might be dead or even defeated the unknown god somehow or even escaped

My current understanding of timeline - The twin was summoned to Khaenri'ah - Spent some time there (since aether had memories of khaenri'ah) - Then for some reason had to hybernate or just sleep. - The War started and Gods descended on Khanri'ah - Then Lumine woke Aether up to leave Teyvat immediately - The Sustainer stopped them while they were leaving - Aether most likely lost his power because he was attacking the sustainer with his full power but got blocked (he was heavily breathing after the attack) - Both Siblings then got trapped and separated - Then Lumine woke up first 500 years ago less (probably because she didn't fight much on that battle and had enough power to broke out hence why she still has her powers) - Then searched for Aether for years with Dain - Then half way through, she most likely changed her mission, (since the reflection indicated that the twin stopped while we continued) most likely where Lumine had a talk with the Clothar since she stopped on sumeru based on the reflection with npc having sumerian attire. - Then most likely 499-500 years later Aether woke up without his powers. (499 years because aether said he traveled a bit alone without direction before meeting paimon, just an estimate) - Then fished up paimon then the journey starts.

Why sustainer captured 1 sibling but later she released the sibling or whatever etc.. and also how come the sibling whom the sustainer didn't capture, wakes up centuries later than the one who is captured? I see it as determination to press on. But her focus is also forced by the Caribert and Loom of Fate incident shortly before this. Dain told the traveller he noticed a change in attitude with his companion. I can't wait to know how they split up and the Abyss sibling came to be.
The more i look, the more i see the only difference between the Twins journey is Paimon and Dainsleif
also the fact that we managed to find info about her early on but in her case she never heard about him for 500 years,
also i think that she witnessed the tragedy that happened in Khaenri'ah which made her even more depressed, with Dain being also in shock and depression over his nation falling so both were in tragic situation neither of them was in position to be cheering for the other T^T

It is at least assumed that The Abyss sibling, but I will be using Lumine from now on for them. She started her journey in Khaenri-ah, where she met Dain.
With how many people hold Mondstadt as a special place as we woke up there and started our journey there, I can assume that Khaenri-ah was special to Lumine as well, obviously as she was so upset over what happened to it.
Her journey was hopeless; she saw the worst of the world with no hint or hope of her brother being okay. She just had to have faith, but she wouldn't know for sure for at least a long time. We don't know when she figured out her brother was asleep, and even if she did, she had no idea when he would wake up. Aether has seen, in his long journey, the best in this world. We made dear friends, and we see that every person, great or small, has a story to tell. I have a theory that the journey Lumine was on was the opposite; she only saw the worst that the world had to offer, never truly connecting.
She may have thought she found a place she belonged in this world in Khaenri-ah, only to lose it by the end and lose everyone she possibly cared for.
That could have been the start or end of her journey, we don't know, and while I adore Dain, he certainly is not the best when it comes to comfort, and after Khaenri-ah, he would have his own issues to deal with, and he would be in no place to offer comfort, positivity, and hope to Lumine as he too was in despair.

My theory is that dain was the one who alerted the archons about kheanriah causing an imminent abyss disaster, and he told them wanting to protect kheanriah and hoped Celestia could stop the disaster from happening, but it was too late and it happened anyway, and lumine found that out and felt he betrayed kheanriah.

Say what you think about Paimon. You can dislike her for being annoying, childish, or irritating to deal with. But never forget the fact that she is the closest friend for the MC Traveler that stuck with them from the beginning. Without her, MC Traveler would not have a companion who taught them the language of Teyvat, a reliable guide to traverse an arduous journey, and a friend who keeps them mentally stable through harsh moments like what we saw in this short.
Paimon may not be the companion we want, but she is definitely the one that the Traveler needs and deserves it.
People only hate paimon because of how the game uses her as a dialogue messenger. In a proper story telling in maybe an anime people will definitely love her lol.

I have never disliked Paimon and am actually confused why people do. She feels like a little sister to me, who is really energetic and talkative and wants to go on adventures with her big brother so she pulls him along so that they can have fun together.

Like she sayid in the quest we had on Meruside about a black stone that was showing the past, she said that she saw bad things that she didnt even knew that was happened and she was scared. At that moment i wanted to hug her. Paimon is the cute little thing you want to protect. But the same goes for Dain too. He is like that because he lost everything, if he have a little thin sting to grab on, he is afraid to lose it/cut it. Dain must be sereous for many reasons. 1:15 Aether is having a fun discovering the world, and just goes where his journey takes him. While Lumine has a mission, but is hesitant if she should keep going, having to be peer pressured/reminded by dain to continue their journey. Because lumine wants to travel with her twin, and is sad without him travelling with her or maybe she is hesitant about their objective, while aether is excited and wishes to meet lumine to be together and travel with her again, so he just keeps going. Lumine thinks she is getting farther away from aether on her journey with dain, while aether thinks his journey with paimon will be to one day be beside his sister again. Paimon is a good guide leading aether to his home, lumine, while dain is a good missionary, always on the path to pursue their mission and basically knows alot of knowledge as he is the boughkeeper.

Though I think it is more that something happened with the abyss twin's data (neither traveller is canon), I don't think it is giving up at all since AT did reach the end of their journey, just concluded that Celestia was oppressing Khaenriah and opposing them instead.
The traveller hasn't completely learned the truth of the world yet, though. But we know them not having a vision is a big thing since descenders cannot have visions (why Arlecchino isn't and will never be one.)
Neither Aether nor Lumine is canon as traveller/abyss twin, but they didn't want to portray Dainsleif as possibly gay so I guess they featured Aether lmao, since there's clear romantic overtones between him and the AT.
Lumine being the MC would make more sense and be better tho, let's be honest. And Dainsleif is Scandinavian, he is going to be a little 💅✨.

The traveler shows up at the right time and place. Where huge disaster already pass, relatively peaceful and with Paimon. While abyss sibling arrive during or near the cataclysm where every nation is almost brought to ruins. It is understandable if the traveler view is a hopeful one compared to the hopelessness of abyss sibling's.

Seems like Lumine either gave up on her journey or succumbed/lost to the heavenly principles and thus became "part" of Teyvat, while Aether still has the chance to change things if he can make it all the way to the end.

I see a comment that mentioned Paimon is truly the best travel companion we could get when landing in teyvat ever. And yes. *She is*
No hate in Dain, but we can see how Lumine change every scene. Growing determined, focused, yet bitter the longer she traveled through Teyvat once without any sort of clues about our situation in the slightest. Dain also keep his distance, either out of respect or he's just keeping the cards too close to his hands, hence why the abyss sibling have a fallout with him and going as far to spite him by becoming the leader of the abyss order or something that made them be recorded in Teyvat's irminsul.
Aether, or traveler, always had Paimon. From back then till now. Aether is sad, wondering what would he met or face next, the conspiracy he must deal with the Fatui and the gods he met not giving him enough answers that he seeks to finally reunite with his siblings. it's obvious that he missed lumine. Painfully so when they always been together, but Paimon encourage us to keep going, that our journey has yet be completed and we must go on in search of Lumine/abyss sibling both to find em and the true nature of Teyvat that keeps being hinted at since our crossing path with the abyss sibling.
Paimon might be annoying, but she's there for us when we needed by Forging bonds with others, meeting wonderful scenery, sad departures, learning what's going on, and lend a hand where it matters... and maybe change Teyvat for the better.
Perhaps I'm reading too deep into it, but maybe Hoyo hint that the true nature of this world not some huge reveal or mind blowing twist, but a story of searching family or place where we keep moving forward and never stop despite how hard and unforgiving things could be.
As a genshin player, we may flame hatred or being dramatic to the max. But we all agree, that this journey is has yet to be completed.
There's more to see, more to explore, more to see till the end both in game and real life. Genshin taught me that over the years, and those who are reading this.

Tbh I don’t think Dain the ally of Lumine or Aether. I think that he had his own agenda, and when Lumine learned that agenda, she turned on him, and joined the abyss order. We know Dain did something to betray the people of Khanri’ah and whatever it was really bad. When Aether met Dain, he was in Mondstat looking for Aether, but found Aether had already found Paimon and Lumine was watching Aether, so he couldn’t take Aether on whatever journey that he took Lumine on. I think Dain isn’t interested in being friends with the travelers, he wants their power for some reason, and Lumine refused. Now he’s trying to convince Aether to join his side, while Lumine needs her brother to travel the world and learn it’s secret to make his choice. Dain is super sus and I think he will become a tragic antagonist, who will try to use the fourth descender to fulfill his goal.
So basically, the antagonist? (That MO kinda reminds me of Otto - all the way up to the possibility that he's manipulating the abyss sibling)

It must be depressing for Lumine to never have a clue where her brother is for hundreds of years. She probably doesn't want to get close to Aether for all this time after he woke up because she's already pursuing something else now, but Aether suddenly just pops up and she's upset with Dain because he didn't immediately inform her that he had found Aether regardless of the fact Dain didn't journey together with Lumine now.

My headcanon here is they're just showing the times when she was particularly sad. I mean, going by this video, it doesn't look like Aether is having a good time either.

However I do remember Dain mentioning how they got tired/exhausted after their travels, or something along those lines. Maybe the only moments that brought them joy was when they talked about their twin, and simultaneously, the moment they thought about them could also be the most sorrowful moments of their journey.
She enjoyed it but eventually lost hope and broke down. 500 years and zero signs you'll ever re-unite with your loved one would destroy any person. Most people would've given up or gone mad well before the 100 year mark.

Dainslief with Lumine journey is completly different with Aether and Paimon. Why? Well, Dainslief and Lumine journey only begin after the fall of Khaenri'ah, so we can imagine how depressing it was for both of them, especially Dainslief.
The only question is, why Aether didn't wake up during Dain's journey with Lumine? And when Aether was trapped, was that during cataclysm? Or after cataclysm?
I think that maybe because the unknown goddess captured the traveler after his sister there was a very long period of time between the awakening of the two of them
Lumine woke up first and got to explore Khaenria first i think. And then the missing info here is when Aether wake up later like did he also manage to explore Khaenria a little bit before the cataclysm happened, hence their failed attempt to escape Teyvat and got captured both by the unknown god which led to lumine, again, waking up first than Aether. Then they started their journey on Teyvat itself along with Dain.
base on our journey in game so far it seems that Aether (as the Traveler) doesn't knew about Khaenria that much (before the first quest where we saw dain imply that he is indeed researching Khaenria stuffs even without paimon). Then the chasm quest with dain came. We got to know here that Aether manages to give Lumine the flower on her head that came from Khaenria, implying that they did spend some little time on that place with their twin, which for me got me also confused. Or Traveler is not spilling a lot of beans despite we are playing as them.

as in one of the flashbacks we see aether with his original Element put an inteyvat (those weird khanriah flowers) in lumines hair pretty much confirming that they both spent time together in khanriah
But those "flashbacks" could also be what if scenarios so its not confirmed and the canoniscity of this short also isnt known
I also had a thought where both did spend time together in teyvat, but while they were about to leave for another world, the heavenly principles stopped them.
It has already been confirmed in game that they spent a short amount of time before they were forced to leave, but then their path was blocked by the unknown god and then they fall right back down into Teyvat. It's literally in the traveler's voicelines😭🙏
Well, technically when you play Lumine, Aether did put the flowers in her hair regardless. It seems he did that even when he's the Traveler and she the Abyss twin.

and another thing i just saw (on reddit) one of those flashbacks takes place in inazuma city which could then also link back to a weird dialouge option where kazuha asked the traveller if they had met the electro archon before, before going to inazuma where the traveller said something along the lines of "yes but it was a long time ago" which then again gives some more weight to theese beeing actual memories instead of what ifs because of that one memory taking place in inazuma city

I think I know which one you're talking about, but you remember it a little wrong.
I believe it was with Kazuha, when he talks to them about Inazuma. At some point, they say they "might" have met already, because the Traveler is referring to the Unknown God. The Traveler is suspecting the Unknown God to be one of the Archons, in that case, the Electro one.
Here is the dialogue :
"Kazuha : It goes without saying that the people locked within Inazuma do not fare well these days.
Paimon : Sounds a lot like something the god you encountered in the beginning would do.
Kazuha : Oh? Have you encountered the Electro Archon before?
Traveler : I'm not sure. / It was already a long time ago now."
It seems like Dainsleif just wasn't a support system for Lumine. Whenever she needed someone, he wasn't there nor was anyone else. Maybe that could be a reason for turning to the Abyss.

@@geovanagama1 Both Lumine and Dainsleif needed a third person to act as emotional support for them after the tragedy they suffered through. Unfortunately, there was no one there. It makes me wonder what specifically made Lumine hate Dainsleif so much, and why he turned his back on her and the Abyss Order. They may have not supported each other like they should have, but they were all they had, so it must've been very bad.
I mean I can see why many would prefer Dain as their travel-companion over Paimon, but to Paimon seems like the companion who overall had done better in keeping Traveler's spirits high while Dain seems like someone Lumine is together in misery with yet there's not a whole lot of cheerful interaction between them. I wonder just how significantly familiar yet as well as different Traveler and Paimon's growing relationship will be to that of Abyss-sibling and Dain's sour one.

For some reason I always connect Aether and Lumine to the Greek story of inseparable Gemini twins.
If there are plans to continue the game after the last chapter, it would be fun to see the other siblings' journey while being able to meet the characters who died in the current version.
I guess Dain was simply a bodyguard the King deployed to monitor Lumine. For the best use of her power for Khaenri'ah, Dain must do every thing to prevent Lumine getting too close to Teyvat local people, so that Lumine might be willing to use her power to fight for Khaenri'ah, and didn't feel guilty to kill the people under the rule of seven Archons

One of them (the one opposite we chose) was captured by the Heavenly Principles *before* any of these memories happen. The abyss sibling's 500 year journey was while our selected Traveler "slept", post-Heavenly Principles altercation at the beginning of it all.

I fear for Lumine tbh, she is using the abyss power to obtain her goal and it seems like she was trying to save Khaenrians maybe she wanted to turn them back. As you can see right from the very start, Dain’s goal was to save her, he also said that Khaenrians already had their time and the means of saving them is to off them. Lumine and Dain probably reached their goal to finding the way of saving them but at the expense of Lumine, and that’s why Dain wanted to stop her to save her.

Never even thought about that how that feel before. But the sibling had to spend so long looking for the other sibling without even the slightest clues, except that it's celstias fault. While, for our journey, our sibling reveals themselves early and gives us a goal to strive for before any true depression could settle like it did for the sibling. On top of our sibling being a descender and the other sibling being an outlander. Another thing is that Dain asks if we think the sibling betrayed us also hints to me that we will take the same side as the sibling in the end.
The details on this single trailer are a little heartbreaking for me, I wish for them to reunite soon 😢 I'm so looking forward to the animation 😭

The abyss twin change a lot since traveler twin last saw them because the abyss twin end their journey 500 years ago never knowing where their sibling are or how are they doing, while the traveler twin just started their journey at least being able to reunite with their sibling (even if abyss twin left them) and at least know what are they doing
Why is everyone assuming Dainslef is bad? Abyss twin wants revenge for the destruction at khanrhea and is angry because Dain doesn't want the same. He probably doesn't want to stir shit up and cause another cataclysm that will affect innocent people more than the archons. While the Abyss twin wants to re-order the system of Teyvat.
The one thing I noticed people talking aren't about is the fact that Lumine woke up at dawn and Aether at dusk. She was the beginning and we are the end. And I sure do hope this end isn't a painful one...

And started their journey with 500 years apart
i think the real lumine died and the part where she stops walking in the shadow on aether kind of shows it, nahida says that information regarding lumine is that she was "summoned" in the abyss and lumine's existence before that is not there. it seems that lumine was in fact a descender which is why her information is not there in irminsul but after she was summoned in the abyss, her information starts to appear in irminsul. so lumine died and her fragments are being collected as gnosis to resurrect her (which is btw the next archon quest title) and the current lumine is artificial. also childe might be the soul/vessel that abyss might use to ressurect lumine?
Fun fact lumine only has her powers because she was the one captured by the unknown god and didn't let go of her sword so her powers remained😊.
If people think that dainsleif acted as a guide to the abyss twin like paimon is for us but betrayed them in the end doesn't this imply that at some point paimon might turn out to be something else and betray us like him.

So you're telling me traveler was sleeping out in the open field for 500 years and no one attack this mf. I can only assume Venti was the one who protected the traveler since he prob was at mondstat or near it and that is Venti's dominion. This could also be the reason why he says, "We meet again". I mean, i know Venti was also asleep during that time, but it isn't entirely impossible that he saw us before Venti also went into slumber.
Another possibility is we met Venti during the cataclysm while we were trying to escape only to end up being thrown back by the unknown God. Venti might have help us try to escape as we don't really know Venti motive and he is unpredictable.
I wonder if only way for sibling to save us, waking us up was to go to the dark side making deal with them. I feel like she didn't betray us?

My current understanding of timeline
- The twin was summoned to Khaenri'ah
- Spent some time there (since aether had memories of khaenri'ah)
- Then for some reason had to hybernate or just sleep.
- The War started and Gods descended on Khanri'ah
- Then Lumine woke Aether up to leave Teyvat immediately
- The Sustainer stopped them while they were leaving
- Aether most likely lost his power because he was attacking the sustainer with his full power but got blocked (he was heavily breathing after the attack)
- Both Siblings then got trapped and separated
- Then Lumine woke up first 500 years ago less (probably because she didn't fight much on that battle and had enough power to broke out hence why she still has her powers)
- Then searched for Aether for years with Dain
- Then half way through, she most likely changed her mission, (since the reflection indicated that the twin stopped while we continued) most likely where Lumine had a talk with the Clothar since she stopped on sumeru based on the reflection with npc having sumerian attire.
- Then most likely 499-500 years later Aether woke up without his powers. (499 years because aether said he traveled a bit alone without direction before meeting paimon, just an estimate)
- Then fished up paimon then the journey starts.

I see it as determination to press on. But her focus is also forced by the Caribert and Loom of Fate incident shortly before this. Dain told the traveller he noticed a change in attitude with his companion. I can't wait to know how they split up and the Abyss sibling came to be.
