Thank you for the video. I’m Taiwanese Australian. I love seeing the real everyday life of China. The news that we hear via mainstream media is never nice with the country. It saddens me that it’s the system that has done so much harm but the whole nation is being blamed…including its citizens. I wish you good luck and that you get through this difficult time.

Not mainland Chinese here, I truly believe that the system China should embrace is the socialist meritocracy Chinese style, not the Marxist. However, having said that, i would like to address your statement >>the system that has done so much harm but the whole nation is being blamed…including its citizens

Spot on! I'm from Taiwan and it's total feces the political system there (never mind the US LOL) and stuff doesn't get done at all (though again nothing like the US hahahahahaha)....
That said, I do understand the frustration folks have with the way China does things; think of it like the ol' "Mac versus PC" stereotype -- with Windows you can customize and tinker so you can actually eff-up yoir computer while Macs have traditionally locked up their system to make sure users don't mess anything important up!
So just a matter of personal preference that's all...if you look at history, it's actually not clear democracies do better at all if you factor in the fact that *all of the big traditional democracies have been rapists, murderers, thieves, and liars* which is how they got so rich -- and being rich they think it's because they're so superior (before making such a big deal about being democracies [i.e., before they finished raping, murdering, and stealing] they were going on about their superior religion of Christianity, remember!)....
      Don't be fooled!

Beautiful temple. I tend to identify as a atheist but deep in me I'm carrying many identical beliefs shared in hinduism and buddhism, the more I research the more I see a direct resemblance.
Hang on, I'm sure you'll figure things out. Most free spirits have trouble adapting to the society we live in now, I think we should have been born a few hundred years earlier.

      Earlier??? You mean later, surely!
As Warren Buffett had once put it, "my friend Bill Gates would have been food for animals two hundred years ago"...indeed, timing is everything!!

@@davidchou1675 as far as things are looking right now I'm not sure the world will still exist that much longer. Or society as we know.
Maxbe you're right and I'm a bit naive to romanticise with past centuries. At the end of the day war, suffering and torture was a daily occasion back then. But I still like to think I'd prefer a life of discovery and exploration of the unknown than to live a life where everything is already right in front of you and the society nowadays is something I can't identify with. Most are so emotional and weak that I just can't help myself but go into complete isolation.

Hold on brother, weather it out. We all are spectators in this game anyway. In all infinite possibilities of past-present-future we are confined in one possibility.
Never regret what choice had made but see it as only presented option.

Mate I have a house in GZ and really wish I didn't. Bought it in Nov just before the covid outbreak. Came back to England on holiday and I couldn't go back to China as the borders closed so I didn't even get a chance to live there, and certainly don't want to go back to China now. Back home in England, the fucking house is bleeding me dry and my Chinese wife doesn't want to sell it...feel your pain. At least she is here with me now, stupid covid policy seperated us for 3 years. Stick at it though !

The worst part of a slow economy or being unemployed, to me, is the sense of instability. Not knowing when the climate might change for the better. In 2008, here in the US, the economy tanked and so many people lost their jobs and the real estate sector plummeted. The businesses we owned slowed tremendously but eventually things evened out and then improved. It is such a cycle. I hope your situation can find improvement soon.

Stay strong and be patient. China and Russia are leading a separation between the western imperialists and the world. The message on that column - May peace prevail in the world - can only happen when the American empire, the most murderous nation on the planet, collapses. The economic repercussions will be felt worldwide but that is the pain we have to ensure to create the new peaceful world.

Yeah I'm in NYC and not looking forward to the collapse of the Global American Empire and its network of scum-licking lackeys such as Europe, Australia, and Japan (bravo to India, thoyanti-China right now, for insisting on its independence all along) though I recognize that it's inevitable and ultimately a good thing....
It will be tremendously tough for us lao bai xing in the years to come, especially those of us Chinese overseas who are not rich, but a new world order in which China is secure to be China is important for everyone!
