Hello Matt. Hope you see this post. Just stunning Absolutely beautiful tone, just, well, EVERYTHING!!!!!!. I'm a comeback player after 50 years & I just discovered your version of I Dreamed a Dream, & bought the sheet music. Making good headway with it! I notice your mouthpiece placement is low, with top of rim almost on the red. (About 1/3 upper, 2/3 lower. Almost looks like 1/4 upper & 3/4 lower, at least from the camera angle). I'm trying different placements & I know that ideal placement is different per individual. But, can you please tell me the advantage of placing the mouthpiece the way you do. I hope you read this, & thanks so much Matt!!!!!
Thank you very much for the nice comment! I'm glad you liked it! For mouthpiece placement, I'm afraid I don't know much about it. I've always just played where it felt right. I don't know any advantages/disadvantages for any particular placement.
BTW.. Reading the comments, someone said you should try to perfect your pitch because you sound flat? Is this guy serious???? Nothing short of perfection from you & your horn!!
@@thetrumpetman You know what? You're a brilliant trumpeteer. I love all ur vids, especially the One Day More from Les Mis. Loved that! I listened to it like a dozen times trust me!
I'm trying to hear what you are talking about, but I'm having a little bit of trouble. You're very specific, haha. I will try though in my practice sessions to listen more to my articulation, as that can be an easy thing to overlook in the grand scheme of things. Thanks for the input!
Sorry, I don't have any sheet music. I learned this song by ear. If it helps at all, the opening key is in concert Eb major, and the key change near the end of the song puts it in concert F major.
Thank you! Basically, there's three websites you can check to find out who holds the rights to any particular song: www.ascap.com, www.bmi.com, and www.sesac.com. I check these sites, and once I know who holds the rights, I go the company's website and submit a request there (they might have a form you can fill out, or you might have to email them). I submitted a request for a bunch of Les Miserables song on www.warnerchappell.com and they emailed me back giving me permission. I do believe though that any songs completely owned by them are fair game for youtube if you follow this procedure: www.wmgmusiclicensing.com/WMGML/RequestAccountLanding.aspx?t=n. Long-winded response here, but this is how I get permission.
+Jacob Hensley It is a good movie. I'm not planning on playing "A Little Fall of Rain" right now, but thanks for the suggestion! Who knows, I could always go back to some Les Mis stuff at some point.
Well, I'm not planning on it at this point. I'm hoping to do some other songs from Les Miserables though, but I'm waiting to hear back about permission to use the music.
I would like to see more Emotion of the 4 beat not instead of doing the vibrato on the notes all the time, Just a simple request and not that hard to do, also you a tone flat.
I was there the whole time, but it was the background that got thrown in. I played in front of a green screen, and the background got keyed in after the fact during video editing. I agree, though, it is obvious. I think it's still better that way, though, instead of just plain audio or just video of me playing in front of a wall or something.
Well, thanks for the comment nonetheless! What didn't you like about it? I actually did this song by ear and literally read the lyrics as I played for maximum text interpretation.
The finest trumpet I have ever heard
I hope it goes on forever!
Wow, that's a very nice comment! Thanks a lot!
I love what you're doing with all these Les Mis songs! You make them sound even more beautiful than they already are! Great job!👏

+Jacob Hensley It is a good movie. I'm not planning on playing "A Little Fall of Rain" right now, but thanks for the suggestion! Who knows, I could always go back to some Les Mis stuff at some point.
+The Trumpet Man ok cool
Well Done !
Really nice!
Thank you!
can you play ' at the end of the day ' from les miserables? :D
Well, I'm not planning on it at this point. I'm hoping to do some other songs from Les Miserables though, but I'm waiting to hear back about permission to use the music.

Life has killed the dreams I dream too.

Well thank you very much Jack :D
Hey Noah, Google isn't letting me reply directly to your post for some reason, but I do not send out sheet music. Sorry :(
The Trumpet Man can u me this too
I learned this song by ear, so I don't have sheet music for it. Sorry :(
what mouth piece is that and where do you get your sheet music?
A Bach 3C megatone mouthpiece. And I learned this song by ear, so I don't have sheet music for it. Sorry :(
was you reading sheet music or making it up
+John Neary I learned the song by ear, and I was reading the lyrics off a piece of paper as I played.
Sheet music?
What mouthpiece is that??
Vincent Bach 3C Megatone mouthpiece.
stage&screen_tpt Thanks
stage&screen_tpt Finally i've found someone else who uses it
I use a 3B Megatone ^^
what mouthpiece size do you use?
Bach 3C megatone
It was really good! Try to have a good attack. Less of a "fwah" on notes and more of a "tah"
Susan Boyle + Matt Cruice = The Dream Team ;)
ruclips.net/video/g0I7M_I1Fp0/видео.html
haha, that would be great :D
I would like to see more Emotion of the 4 beat not instead of doing the vibrato on the notes all the time, Just a simple request and not that hard to do, also you a tone flat.
Thanks for the advice :)
Might want to learn to get perfect pitch cause each time I Listen you sound way too flat.
oof I tried
Get perfect pitch??? What??? You best have your ears checked man!!
It's pretty obvious that you photoshopped yourself in the background 😝

go cares enjoy the music not the background....listen to how good it sounds...its not an art and realistic contest!
mu liangc oops no go i meant who
Your sound is well but this cover sucks.
Well, thanks for the comment nonetheless! What didn't you like about it? I actually did this song by ear and literally read the lyrics as I played for maximum text interpretation.
