I grew up in Massena NY and went to the 56 Drive In a lot back in the 1970s. Ah, memories! I have lived elsewhere since 1979, but right now I am missing home and the Adirondacks. I also remember Santa Land from early childhood in the early 1960s. The circus came to Indian Lake in the early 1960s one time while my family was visiting Gram and my aunt and uncle. That memory has always stayed with me. Indian Lake was my favorite spot in the entire World. I loved going there for Summers and Thanksgiving. Dammit, I'm going to start tearing up! 😢 Nonetheless, good memories. I am currently 64, btw.
Visited the Enchanted Forest many times. My friend Sammy Greco's family had a camp at Fourth Lake. Loved spending time in the Adirondacks. Dreaming of going back.
Think about it! If all those tourists destinations where still there what would the Adirondacks look like today. I lived in Hamilton County for 32 years, and I'm thankful I didn't have to endure that situation!!

It’s so nice to be able to learn more about where I was born as an adult
Thank you for this
I remember (I'm now 66) as a kid going to Frontier Town, Santa's Workshop, Land of Make Believe, and Land of 1,000 Animals.
Santas workshop is still there. Took my youngest last year, 40 years after I first went
Classic stuff. Thanks for the memories.
Great history.

Local car clubs would love this
They wouldn't let him rebuild storytown
It's about people
nobody hopes that mining for iron ore happens again in the park. You deserve a job at mcdonalds for the rest of your life if you do.
