- In this video, we provide a overview of the product(s) and how to install the EcoFlow 800W Alternator Charger on a Ford F-250 and these steps are very similar for most any other vehicle. Also I show how to run the wiring and connect everything up to the Alternator Charger and to the (2) EcoFlow Delta 2's w/Smart Battery.

I never even thought to connect all three Delta units together as suedo one unit like that. Brilliant!
This setup really shows the short comings of the Jackery doesn't it?
Now, connect your solar input to the main Delta 2 unit and see how it reacts to having the full 800 watts of alternator charge AND up to 500 watts of solar input at the same time. Supposedly works. I just haven't had a good day around here to try it with mine.
Connecting all 3 together seems to work well and the next step is to put out all of my solar panels and connect them too, like you said. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it.
Nice video. I recently installed the EcoFlow 800W charger as well on my 2024 PW (video on my channel). It works great. I ran my cable a different way through my firewall and sealed it with a PG21 corded strain relief and some black RTV sealant but still ended up underneath the driver side seat similar to your setup. My PW has the dual alternator option that puts out 380A so plenty of juice to run the charger and everything else.
Thanks for watching! I also have the dual alternators and it was one of the reasons I thought the Ecoflow would be a perfect fit. I do plan to do some cable maintenance when I decide where is permanent home will be in the truck.
For the smaller vehicles, you can always set the input limit accordingly like 400W in the Ecoflow app :)
That is correct, but you would still want to know the output of your alternator to make sure it can handle anything extra being drawn from it and how much. Thanks for watching!
@@adventureroamx What would be the max for my 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon? If I remember correctly, the original alternator is only 65A. You might get an aftermarket 90A alternator too.
So, what's your recommendation for the max load?
@@mikkotoivola I don't have any experience with your vehicle and what its power needs are so I hate to try and guess. i think you would just have to play with Ecoflow settings until you found the right power setting for your use case. Thanks for watching!

👍Very nice total power setup. Have wondered if the new 800w EF device would void a vehicle's warranty if problems arose later? Between your channel, and another one (Brian Waters Outdoors), who also an F250, I'm getting the urge to trade my '18 SuperCrew F150. 🤔😎
I cant imagine it would void the warranty since its just connected to the battery, but you never know, I would remove it before a warranty service anyway. I like my truck, its a 2019, but only has 26k miles and getting close to being paid off. no payment will be nice for a while.
@@adventureroamx Good idea removing before a warranty/service checkup. My '18 F150 just went over 57,500 miles yesterday. Been paid-off for awhile thankfully. I'm a dumb a$$ wanting to get into payments again, lol. Drove 45 miles one way this afternoon to a dealership just to scope-out any F250's they might have. My 17yo grandson that rode with me said that all of the salesmen coming out of nowhere to converge on us reminded him of how Meerkats pop their heads up, lol.

Excellent video, answered questions I have had! Just ordered my delta 2/alt charger last night! Question for ya, can u charge the extra delta battery directly from the alternator charger(AC)? If I understand correctly, the AC charges the delta 2 thru the same port the extra battery connects to 🤔 so If someone didn’t have the 2nd delta 2, like u do, could they still charge the extra battery?
Thanks for watching and no, you can’t charge the extra battery simultaneously because it does use the same . I have not tried to plug the alternator charger directly into the extra battery but I have read that it will work.

@@samschlueter7260 Yeah, ill try it out for ya, I am hoping they come out with an adapter to account for the extra battery scenario. Maybe as its out on the market longer they might get enough feedback to take care of that.

With this much battery, I hope your run electric on things like heaters instead of diesel. This is a lot of batteries 😮
Yeah, its quite a bit of juice, but I have plans for it. I like the fact that I can take them out for things, power outages, remote charging etc. I think an electric heater would draw too much energy unless I could find a crazy efficient one. I do plan on getting some sort of AC that runs on battery, possibly the EcoFlow one.
