My FAVORITE part of your entire channel is how you call back on your strategies, opinions, and play styles you had as a kid. It instills so much personality and nostalgia into your videos, plus a huge wave of relatability. Keep it up!
just play on legendary. playing one of the easier modes do not prepare you at all. just going ahead and biting the bullet and playing on legendary makes you a better player very quickly.
@@kuleneko bro just let people play how they want lmao. not everyone wants to play legendary. also, heroic was literally the intended way to play the game lol
Just binged a few of your videos and really digging the content. As a halo speedrunner (mainly reach), it's always nice to see someone put out some halo content involving running or doing challenges, but spice that in with a drop of humor and video edits isn't something most people do when creating vids like this. Subbed! Glad you've joined the community, haven't seen you around in the HaloRuns discord, but can't wait to have a laugh with your next project. Keep up the good work :D
I completely prefer these "John Wick" runs over regular speed runs because you actually PLAY the GAME. Looking forward to you doing the same run for the rest of the series
A few weeks ago I challenged myself to beat Halo CE on Legendary no deaths AT ALL. If I died then I would restart the entire campaign. I managed to beat it on my second try but it was very difficult to not get killed by rocket flood or chain explosions.
You had trouble at the corridor in two betrayals? Honestly there is a easy way to get him, simply just shoot the AR once and wait for the fucker to come get you and just destroy him either with the needler or shotgun, or rocket if you're not having an issue to waste one on him(unless you have 8 ammo like I usually do
@@nicolae-alexandruluca7853 nah not really, that part was easy imo. The worst part is on phase generator 2 where like 3 4 or 5 rocket flood spawn in from a door. It’s tough cuz if you mess up your grenades and rockets your cooked 🔥

Great video bro. Bought Halo and the original Xbox as a combo with my brother in 2002 as kids, had no idea we were going to playing this game for the next 20 years. You are clearly a solid player as well, way better than most. So F the haters who post dumb comments on your videos. Legendary is not easy lol and that last section of TB is nuts.
That ending section to Two Betrayals is no joke. Wish you hadn't taken the Banshee in Assault on the Control Room though, because it allows you to skip a couple of big fights like taking out the Wraith and Ghosts on the ground, plus storming all the way up the Pyramid structure.
Just came across your channel. Subscribed! I walked through town one day in 2003, saw an Xbox, bought an Xbox and 4 controllers, didn't go to uni, went home and birthed a social gathering phenomenon with my friends that became our goto for years to come, and one we still partake in, this time online, 20 years later. Your videos remind me of that time! Thanks
Did you enjoy this more than a speedrun? It's fun watching people perform the tricks etc. but sometimes it must be nice to actually play the level 'properly'
Just found your channel because my friend challenged me to a race to complete Halo CE, Legendary, no speedrunning on his twitch stream. None of us have played the campaigns in years lol Happy to be here in all of this nostalgia!
As much as i love the other Bungie Halos, this really is pretty much the only one you can play like this without tearing your hair out, with the exception of Keyes dying because he is an idiot, every death feels fair. not properly utilizing health packs or pickups or the weapon sandbox, bad strategy etc. As a certain acting male would say, this game is truly a masterpiece.
This is the first time I see someone use almost the exact same strategies I use every time I play ce! Many of the things you learned are the same things I learned and now come naturally to me. Since I don’t know how to speed run, the way I play is essentially John wick runs
Would thoroughly love a Legendary play through guide from you. On some of your newer videos I am always surprised to see the date it came out and how many people still watch content about Halo still and it makes me so happy, I am older than you but got into CE only last year and it has become my favorite campaign after my legendary run which took 7.5 hours lol. Two Betrayals is definitely the hardest level btw.
I just recently completed Halo on legendary for the first time and I found an easy strat for that Keyes room. All of the Marines, including Keyes will follow you where ever you go. So I take them back down the hallway we came before the enemies spawn. That way you lead the charge and can clear out the enemies in that room before Keyes has a chance to be shot. The rest of the hallways were easy and you can just charge the hanger open button to finish.
You mentioned naked Eli in the last video. He was amazing in helping with completing halo and halo 2 on legendary. It’s time for you to take up that mantle and upload those kinds of vids for the newer audience
Hey just wanted to let you know I've been loving the videos you've put out recently. You've got be excited to go back and play Halo again. Thanks for the great work!
15:22 I usually get through this part with a Ghost, you go as fast as you can, hide behind the rocks and run to the banshees, it's not that safe for going deathless but it's easier than clearing out all the enemies
10:56 - I usually nuke the elite with a rocket, but takes some tries because the radical doesn't show until it's almost too late to shoot so you gotta guess the aim and not launch the banchee off the bridge
6:37 “Normally I wouldn’t kill these hunters…or these guys…or these guys…” If this is called a John Wick run, we should start called speed runs “pacifist runs” on account of how many Covenant lives Frog saves by doing so 😂
I’m not new to halo but I’m new to halo ce and halo 2 and to see that without me watching anything I was doing the exact same thing with the plasma Grenades on the first mission makes me feel good lol
Really? 20+ years and i just thought I sucked at the jump during the Maw and thats why I always flipped the hog. Gonna have to start doing the 360, thanks!!!
I did this for every Halo game in the OG and 360 consoles. Halo CE up to Halo 4. Even Spartan Ops. Beat every game Legendary flawless. 0 deaths, no skips, all enemies cleared. I only didn't complete Halo 2, i didn't completed 1 level.
The final battle on Two Betrayals has always been the toughest part of the entire game to me. On Legendary, it is asinine to clear out all of the enemies there. While I’ve done it many times over the years, I have never found a good strategy for it.
Well played! About the speedrunning taking longer to learn though, im pretty sure that if you were to do this non-segmented deathless youd spend a month learning that too though
Now do this same thing but with the Foreign skull on 🙃🙃 that’s one of the hardest parts about LASO runs from what I could tell, because no Covenant weapons means no Noob combos.
1:50 damn and i thought i was a genius when i press reload and wait uniil he just starts to put the clip in you can melee and it will be reloaded a little bit faster
I was attempting a fullpath, mostly all kill (that excludes any enemies hidden far off the beaten path; ie the grunt on The Maw or not including every single popcorn flood), deathless run. Two questions, was this segmented? And did a death cause a full run restart or just the level? (I think so but it wasn't perfectly clear from the video.) Having said that, anybody reading this remember all categories are arbitrary so don't sweat it, and more importantly have fun.
A couple added thoughts. Ya gotta love how dyanmic the ai is in combination with super splosions and other physics interactions. It's such an easy design choice that has kept the Halo series really replayable over the years. THAT is how you add randomness to a game for variety while keeping the difficulty fair.
Does anyone else remember the Halo CE tank having different controls before the MCC version? I remember being able to move the body of the tank and the turret individually, but in the updated version you can't anymore. That could be because the MCC is ported from the PC version of the game and so never had that functionality. Does anyone else remember this?
