We had to buy both seeds and fertiliser they are not cheap, the yield was also unreliable, I remember one season we barely harvest anything coz many seeds didn't sprout and those that did withered. If he has chosen the most efficient areas of improvement is relatively unimportant. Everything he touches, he manages to will its success. I'm glad he is a voice of dissent amongst a sea of heavily funded, and controlled media voices. Dissent, and conversations it leads to, are the life blood of innovation and freedom.

Bill Gates made software into a profitable enterprise when most others thought hardware was the only way to make money with computers. Gates also followed up his career by attacking some of the great problems in humanity - clean water, malaria, education. Both men have made larger impacts on society than any world-wide leader in my opinion. Both men also have some personal failings and should not be thought of as perfect.

I used to hold Bill Gates in high regard in his early days as a programmer and innovator until he started becoming more political. He loves the accolades of his peers. He seems to think people need more government intervention in their lives. He seems to have too much influence and investment in the medical establishment, big pharma, and the beltway to be able to make unbiased decisions. We had to buy both seeds and fertiliser they are not cheap, the yield was also unreliable, I remember one season we barely harvest anything coz many seeds didn't sprout and those that did withered.

When I was young, after harvest my mum and grandma always put aside some maize that will be used in the next planting season, for vegetables we used chicken droplet as fertiliser and for maize and beans we did crop rotation and cow dung. Everybody in my village had enough to eat and they sold the excess. That is what paid for our school fees. Nowadays people can barely feed themselves leave alone have extra. There is a lot of young people who have left to look for jobs elsewhere. The soil isn't what it was before. My observation is, once we started using the fertilisers it stood no chance. Walking around the village you can see the poverty, it breaks my heart.
What gets to me is the old, they know nothing else but working the land, but now the land has nothing to offer them.

I used to hold Bill Gates in high regard in his early days as a programmer and innovator until he started becoming more political. He loves the accolades of his peers. He seems to think people need more government intervention in their lives.
Both Bill and Elon are great innovators, and both are powerful influencers, but I'm very warry about Bill's current motives and line of thinking.

The more I learn about Elon Musk the more respect I have for him. Sure he's a billionaire and trailblazer for innovation with what appears to be a fearless drive to achieve goals but, those aren't the reasons for my respect. In my humble opinion those things are actually byproducts of what appears to me to be a deep seated and near selfless desire and motivation to make things better for people, using his God given gifts. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I'm seeing more and more as I learn about him. Just praying, if I'm right, he doesn't lose that motivation. 🤠
