The smart way to do it is to shoot your on-site photography with dark red uniforms, then correct the colorimetry until they turn green and the foliage turns red.
What's shocking is to compare Major Carter to Captain/Rear Admiral Burnham. You can have a female character be amazing at a lot of things, but still be likeable and NOT be a Mary Sue. In fact, there's a DVD extra on SG-1 where Amanda Tapping (Carter) talks about not wanting her character to be right all the time and to struggle once in a while to make her character deeper and more interesting.
The funniest part is that SG-1, despite being about 20 years older and much lower production cost did a much better job with the purple effect. STD has a cheap purple filter overlayed so everything is purple, whereas SG-1 actually managed to mask the actors out of the purple filter somehow. The result is that in STD they're not actually on a purple planet, just a planet with a hazy purple atmosphere that filters out non-purple light.
Grin, you recently made a compilation of people crying in Star Trek Discovery. Would you one day make a compilation of each time T'ealc says, 'Indeed' ? 🙂
While it's an action adventure show, they did deal with moral dilemmas (from time to time) and handle it better than any modern Trek (ie if they were going to give Heavy Water to a civilization that could turn the tide in their war, which featured Rene Auberjonois in that episode).

SG-1, the gift that just keeps on giving
Nothing says “our fight choreography sucks” like shaky cam. It covers up a multitude of sins.
Well that and the constant jump cuts...
i miss kirk-fu.
Camera was soooo much steadier in SG-1. Could actually see what was happening.
cuz in discovery actors wore terible so they had to shake cameras and cut clips to look more realistic.
I can see the SG1 vfx people cursing at the screen trying to get the foliage masked so they can turn them pink, and yet it never quite works.

Meanwhile, STD vomited out the most expensive CGI splooge money can buy, and no one STILL watched it. Advantage: SG1.
Should have just added a purple filter over the entire film like STD

man i love sg1
same i start to watch it again after like 10th time i give it a 365 days brake to forget and then go again

In the next episode they visit Mustafar. "It's over Moll, I have the high ground!"
Daniel Jackson "Who are those two fighting over there?" O'Neill "Pay them no mind, they're from an inferior show"
SG1 is so good
And people said the Major would run out of material with the nightmare part 1 finally over.
There's a 1978/1979 Battlestar Galactica in which Starbuck, Apollo and Sheba went to a purple planet, too. It must be easy for the editors to create.
Man, the amount of screen shaking in discovery. That's modern day filming for you.

I made that years ago. The compilation is somewhere on youtube . But in poor quality
@@NitpickingNerd It would have to be a long video.
@@andrewparnell5566 a long video? It was INDEED
I'll stop now
Fair enough. I shall look.
Thankyou 🖖
Indeed. 😄
The series finale having a prolonged fistfight is so dum
Is seeing things as purple a symptom of STD?
Yes, and the standard cure is a mega-dose of antibiotics
SG1 much better than STD in every way ❤

Didn't Lady Elaine Fairchild travel here?
Maybe they'll do a crossover with her in the upcoming SNW season like they did with Lower Decks. I mean, why the heck not?
What’s with these _strong waman_ fight scenes? I couldn’t tell if this was Discovery or The Acolyte. It’s certainly not Star Trek.
fuck yeah, some sg1 content. miss that show. Thank fuck they haven't brought it back to shit on it though
It's been 69 years and their purple planet special effects are still crap
The planet she is on is the planet from INTO Darkness
Beautiful, i love it!
Lmao
😂👍👏
Ist noch Peps da?
