Maybe not Sean since coming back from dead in stories is kind of annoying at this point. But I would definitely like to hear more. Or maybe more detailed story about him tracking and fighting that thing? After all, it seems he spend some years doing it.
You’re the type of person to want Disney sequels. The whole point is that he sacrifices himself for the greater good. The fact that he is destroyed is helping to fight against the outsiders, since they can’t talk to him
Or it turns out Delilah was pregnent and didn't know it yet, when all that happened, and their kid can do those things too, and continues daddys fight...
The best way for that to happen would be another time manipulator finding out about the whole situation through her reddit post and then altering their fight so he doesn't need to die! That could seemingly work as the author never actually said what the MC did to kill them both.
If Sean could theoretically exist in multiple areas of time within the same universe at the exact same time then perhaps in another strand of time he's still alive. The author could expand on this and the kid that was found to have a genetic link to the unknown man in a future update, if they're so inclined to update this story 😁 also, when egghead Sean went to touch Delilah as she was moving around with time stopped, that's really interesting. Maybe when she saw something in the bad egghead's eyes he gave her some type of power👀??
Personally I interpreted that moment as her gaining the power to resist time stops from enough exposure, not fully control it like them, but gain enough strength to compete with their time power
Same thought here. If Sean is this creature that can exist in multiple moments in time, then the death of his human form was just one moment in time. Maybe he's still alive and just can't come back in human form. The death of his human form could also have been what turned him into this egg head thing in the first place. We'll never know. The perspective was told from his fiance.
The two rules were you can't start Time if you are not close to your original position and nothing moves in time, so that means he could've just wind and unwind every few steps on the way to his fiance , right?
@@djmewtwo6981, he still would have gotten damn close tho, he needs to be _close_ to his starting location, he can stop time, take a couple steps, immediately start and stop time again, and repeat ofc delaila wud also accelerate as she falls, but he'll reach damn close to her
From a physics perspective, him having to be close to where he was when he stopped time in order to release it is awesome because otherwise he would break the universal speed limit of lightspeed.
@@luizguipro4855 well, if the universe has to "fix" itself (at least in its own perspective) then he just has to be "fast." it doesn't have to be lightspeed to move that small a distance. it just has to be really fast so that it can align with his position. like a game trying to correct the position of the player after they go through some lag.

What an exquisite, cautionary tale about time - do not mess with it you are bound to unleash things that can’t be controlled - when Sean first saw the shadow figure that was the beginning of the end - he unintentionally caused death and destruction in another realm or universe- as the shadow grew stronger he (they ) retaliated in kind - incredible writing - should be a movie - worthy of Twilight Zone - ❤❤❤❤❤ wow

My Theory: Shawn was the egg head that was trying to communicate to delilah and the egg head that tried to kill delilah was a different time stopper who had been manipulated by the things in the white empty void to try to bring those things into Shawn's universe
Pretty sure that was outright stated, specially since Shawn said he’s slowly becoming an egghead as he forces his abilities further, and he says that the guy was doing a mess around But yes you’re probably spot on
My theory is, as he himself was being destroyed by ripping his own existence existing in multiple time moments, the evil egghead weakness was that as well, getting it's existence ripped, making it exists in multiple moments in multiple times.

Fascinating take on time manipulation. But I wonder why Delilah is suddenly experiencing those powers. Time baby?? I think maybe. If I was a baby with time powers, I'd stop time before I was born and refuse to participate in life. No thanks~
I think whenever Sean uses his abilities, it opens a doorway go somewhere else. That "somewhere else" leaks out of the doorway. Since he spends so much time with Delilah, she begins experiencing its corrupting effects. It corrupts other things too, such as the computer with Solitary, the boss's mug, and even people... turning them into those things. The more you interact with that other dimension, the more you corrupt yourself and your surroundings. That is just my immediate guess though 🤷🏻♂️
@@benjaminpinney8509 The impression I got with things getting weird while he froze things, like the mug and such, was that it was the shadow presence altering the environment. As it was something Sean was never able to do, it was like a foreboding breadcrumb trail leading up to the scissors with Delilah. Even then, Sean was unable to manipulate things, but the other entity could. Given his ability is more about stasis than manipulation, I'd expect any leaking out powers to be more like clock hands standing still, lost time, people freezing suddenly in his presence, or items not budging from their point in space-time, even when the rest of the world is moving, rather than things to alter and change randomly.
@@Prizzlesticks Indeed. Though it seems as though the shadow used to be a human, just like Sean. So I like to think that they tapped into something sinister by using their abilities, but that is just me haha

Or it turns out Delilah was pregnent and didn't know it yet, when all that happened, and their kid can do those things too, and continues daddys fight...
The best way for that to happen would be another time manipulator finding out about the whole situation through her reddit post and then altering their fight so he doesn't need to die!
That could seemingly work as the author never actually said what the MC did to kill them both.

at the 10 minute mark he had a DIO moment. Bro was convincing himself the same way DIO did. Awesome
Love a good JoJo call out

I interpret him being killed as him being destroyed completely. I think it’s meant to be a sacrafice
Like no that’s not how temporal stopping works like it just means when you move you change your spatial location
Well. . .if I ever gain this type of ability, I’d never use it.
The two rules were you can't start Time if you are not close to your original position and nothing moves in time, so that means he could've just wind and unwind every few steps on the way to his fiance , right?
maybe there's a cooldown for a few seconds after he resumes time
He wouldn’t have reached her in time, she was falling and even with a small timeskip thing he would not be able to reach her in time
@@djmewtwo6981, he still would have gotten damn close tho, he needs to be _close_ to his starting location, he can stop time, take a couple steps, immediately start and stop time again, and repeat
ofc delaila wud also accelerate as she falls, but he'll reach damn close to her
@@draco_lich he would have been a lightspeed monster
From a physics perspective, him having to be close to where he was when he stopped time in order to release it is awesome because otherwise he would break the universal speed limit of lightspeed.
might be wrong but, that'd still happen unless he was exactly where he was
@@luizguipro4855 well, if the universe has to "fix" itself (at least in its own perspective) then he just has to be "fast." it doesn't have to be lightspeed to move that small a distance. it just has to be really fast so that it can align with his position. like a game trying to correct the position of the player after they go through some lag.
@@irisciated you have a good point, i didnt think about that
Lightspeed is not the limit. Quantum entanglement means information is traveling instantaneously, not at a speed.
entanglement could be the true mechanism for the informational correlations going on in the story, and entanglement does not violate causality unless it goes backwards in time.

@strifaheimer Well it wasn’t like a one where you’re stuck forever but more one of the ones where it stops when something changes or you learn something that makes you a better person.
no dont do that, you would age a lot faster
Yes! Stopping time is one of the most interesting concepts I've seen, whether it's limited like Jojo's or unlimited like Click. The mentality of a character after having gained such an unnatural ability as well as the drawbacks of said powers vary greatly, but they're almost always fun to explore.

Awesome story Stephen, it was a neat twist to have his.partner continue the story , it definitely removed his ability to walk away at the end of it. It's so nice to be able to acknowledge what a great, well-written story this is. I'm so done with r/nosleep, where I can't make comments like this lol. Fantastic narration too! @@Claire25252 No, but I've had stories removed because they didn't quite fit the rules (even though technically they did in most cases, it really felt pedantic most of the time) and I've had people make nice comments like 'great story' and then the comments are removed just because it uses the word story, annoying stuff like that

I'm only 2 minutes in, but this reminds me exactly of a scene from "This Book is Full of Spiders" by David Wong/Jason Pargin, where that character experiences the same issue with the grass becoming like needles when time is frozen. In that story, the character uses clouds of campfire smoke to climb over a fence. It's an awesome book in the John Dies at the End series, and I can't recommend it enough!

I just realized, if everything can't be moved then you can still attack and the force of all the attacks you do will be felt by the receiver once time starts again, also you can move whatever you held onto which means guns work aswell

My Theory: Shawn was the egg head that was trying to communicate to delilah and the egg head that tried to kill delilah was a different time stopper who had been manipulated by the things in the white empty void to try to bring those things into Shawn's universe

Rule #1 shout “ZA WARUDO!” as you are stopping time
Absolutely loved this story! The entire thing was very well written 👏 👌 great job man, and thanks to Sean for the sacrifice to save us all.
Fascinating take on time manipulation.
But I wonder why Delilah is suddenly experiencing those powers. Time baby?? I think maybe. If I was a baby with time powers, I'd stop time before I was born and refuse to participate in life. No thanks~
Lol pre-emptive time baby stuff
