Hey mower Junction where you ever aware of the service or hidden menu that is in your anytone?. I have the same radio and let me tell you when you access those hidden menus you can really open up that radio and make it talk better louder and prouder. And also wideband the SSB as well

John, I have a computer power supply like the one you have that makes that noise on certain channels, I ran it into a small 12 volt battery and I didn't hear the noise , the same will work if you ever get a 60 cycle hum, you may know this already, just thought I would mention it, 73's from 169 Les , Northern In.

That's a nice looking radio, I didn't know there was a newer 5555. I just had an original 5555 on the bench the other day. I had assumed it was replaced by the 6666.
why dont you use your clarifier to tune in a little better? Its been alot of years since ive been on the lsb and usb frequencies, but i never left the band drifted that far when shooting skip on the side band channels. not saying anything negative, just curious if maybe that radio drifts alot or if you just learned to deal with the off frequency, or maybe you just dont like to deal with the clarifier. cheers and 73s

Great video and excellent audio. Do you capture the radio audio output from its external speker jack or do you use a microphone? However a few days ago it happened to me to hear you on 11m here in JN66CC qth locator.
Solar flux is 144 today. Only hearing Puerto Rican stations on lower 23. Nothing on the scope centered on 28.400. Skip can be fickle! Update: at 09:40 all DX on channel 6 died out.
I love it best skip in a long long time I love talking skip I did it for many years but just on AM I was one of them hard core big ass amplifier even bigger antenna ran a eight element maco flat side. And talked all over the world with my cobra 2000 and my old browning with a glen 326 VFO JB 2000 with a driver I removed the key tube and drove it with about one hundred watts then I went bigger and my tech.built me a six tube of the 500 z you know the story. About four thousand watts .then I realized you really only need about six or seven hundred watts to talk any where in the world on a good antenna I will tip my hat and wave my hand to all you DX ers 73s and 88s to the lady’s KC9LRA old man 94 sand man . @@primitivex5221 I live in Mid Missouri and yesterday alone I talked to Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Canary Island, Rawanda and many more. Not running any thing special just a Quad 6, about 40 watts and an Imax 2000. Today i talked with Italy on AM on 26Mhz plus numerous other station. I have also talked to Australia and New Zealand from my car while driving down I 44.

I'm not sure mine has a hidden menu, Mine is the 1st version 5555n, not the 5555n2.

Thanks for the info 169. I added a couple of large capacitors to My computer power supply, and that also eliminated the noise. 73's from 151 SC.

the clarifier is unlocked on this radio, so if I tune in an off frequency station It would put my radio off frequency for both receive and transmit.

Any shop that works on radios should be able to fix your meter, But it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one.
Is the the "V" / Turbo model? If so, why don't you use the Rx noise reduction? It works like a charm!

it's an Anytone 5555N, connected to a 2 element Yagi beam.
I really like the look of that anytone a tad bit more that the quad 6.
