I love my 1933 Tula M1891/30 hex receiver. Your eye is just drawn to the Tula star.
I never thought simply buying a rifle would take me down such an insane rabbit hole. The Mosin is just such a fascinating rifle with a seemingly unending history.

After the move, was the Factory in Tula reactivated for production? I have the most beautiful 1940 Tula 91/30 with the laminated stock and #'s matching except for the Mag floor...it works smooth as butter!

Thanks as always. I have one of Peter the great revolvers 😆. It still has his name on it. Hate the round but the mechanics of it marvelous indeed.

From memory I back in 2008-9 I had a mosin nagant 91/30 Tula with the star and an arrow in in the middle mad in 1947. I believe it was a low wall without the the extra material removed from the tang.

I always did prefer the tula star with an arrow over the izhevsk factory marking.

Just found the Tula star on mine. Light had to hit just right it was so light. Under a magnifier it was easier to see. It is date marked 1933/50 and found the refurb mark so refurbed 1950? Looks to also have the accuracy mark and possible sniper barrel marks above the faded star. Barrel, bolt and butt plate serials look to match. The magazine bottom plate does have the serial number but has another number marked out. I have had this rifle for a few years but have not shot it yet.

Amazing content, started the journey into Russian firearms in the SKS realm. The world of Mosin's is infinitely more complex, time to get the duct tape out to tape my head back together from all the info and brew anoyher coffee. On a serious noye thanks for all yhe awesome info!
