@@drum1801 I don't know, that's a matter of taste. It has a lot of great emotive acting with facial expression and a fairly potent soundtrack that 100% sets the mood for its scenes. It's only 90 minute run time too, minus the credits, so it's pretty short. I think it's short and sweet.
Really excited for the Let's play! I want to make clear that though Rengor and I have different playstyles, Rengor's approach totally works, and all his articles were invaluable to my process of learning how to play the game on maddening mode. If I have any skill at this game it is because once upon a time, Rengor's advice helped me to get off the ground and to begin learning the game. The first few chapters will be tricky. The enemy stats are quite high and we have very little agency over our own units' development. In time, though, I'm sure you all will enjoy the OWNAGE that comes from units having insanely good stats. Can't wait to see everyone in the comments of the future episodes!
@@OriginalRaisins The interesting part of stat racing is that just off of advanced class minimums you very comfortably meme chapters 8-11. Excited to see the Stealth shennanigans, its definitely the #1 thing I undervalued in my analysis due to not slotting into the way i personally played.
Raisins you mentioned you did a 0% growths run with no class masteries. Is that online anywhere or is it something you did offline? If it is online I can't find it anywhere.
The real meta is just D.E.D.U.E. - Deliberate Efforts Decide User Experience. Also if you just jack Dedue up to the max, and over come his flying bane, he basically becomes Ashnard but playable.
I have really never used Dedue on maddening since I am not a big fan of Vengeance and he isn't good otherwise. I don't think vengeance is bad, I just don't think it is necessary enough for me to field Dedue, and Bernadetta gets more damage through Hunters volley
@@hanzou1238 In my playthrough of Maddening Non-plussed for the piss screen, I turned Dedue into a Wyvern Lord that had so much defense he took 0 damage from bows (Venom Strike not withstanding). And in early game, what they're describing using Balthus for, Dedue can do. He basically is bulkier, slightly slower Balthus with a worse personal skill.
One of my favorite ways to play 3H is the "weird builds" style - every unit must be in a class that includes at least one of their boons, but otherwise must be strange or contradictory to their canonical class or optimal playstyle. For example, Felix would go Monk -> Mage -> Warlock -> Dark Knight because of his hidden talent in Reason, or Hilda would go Soldier -> Cavalier -> Paladin -> Great Knight because of her boon in Lances and hidden talent in Heavy Armor. It flips the typical way you would play through the game and has given me a very different perspective on quite a few units.
To add to the No-Stat VS Stat debate, I think it's actually better to talk about how stat growth are not impactful in this game. Most of Rengor advice actually correlate at how to "repair" stats. For example, a combat art adding might and precision is like adding strength and tec to a unit before making a regular attack. Once we start thinking like that, stat growth become a way to reach benchmark and tools like batallion and combat arts are alternative ways to reach those benchmark. They are just very available and under the player control which make them easy to use.
Re: Death Knight fight. Dedue actually survives getting doubled at base without being crit so he can face tank and then Vengeance for the kill. The only way to make him immune to crits is to use the DLC Chalice of Beginnings anyway but you can also just reset until he doesnt get crit
Chalice doesn't block crits, sadly, so you do have to reset. But the way I did it was bait with Felix, pray for no crit + Felix to activate his Crest, then Dimitri could finish with... I can't remember if it was Tempest Lance Ridersbane or Knightkneeler Steel Lance, but whichever it was did the trick. ...I am not good at Three Houses, lol.
18:55 I'm no Three Houses god or anything but hearing that trickster is good in three houses made me smile. :) It's a fun class and I'm glad that I'm not completely insane for using it in maddening.
I hate playing three houses because my brain cannot process any of this stuff but I love watching people who are good at it, so I’m SO ready for a new adventure with da boyz
Whenever I play maddening, I'm forced into _so_ much healing exp my mages are actually _way_ higher level than everyone else. I had this Mercedes camping my ranged Byleth(+20% exp aura) with physic, fortify(double physic exp per use) and the exp gem and she actually surpassed the maddening enemies' exp curve by a few levels. It wasn't op or anything, but she could 1-3(caduceus staff) range retaliation heavy chip while being stat-ed enough to actually survive _1 combat_ and then also self-heal to full by healing allies, which generated a lot of exp and team-slot efficiency.
Love you Mekky pooh, after my conquest lunatic run atm im gonna finish Blue Lions and Black Eagles lunatic and this is gonna be hours of investment similar to how your fates vids were for me. Thank you !!🥹❤️
Was literally just catching up on Raisins 3h iron man vods and wondering when you two might do a playthrough lol. Very excited for Assassin and Trickster propaganda to become more well known, turns out being actually invisible is pretty good!
I’m waiting for all of the moments where Raisins mentions, “ you know if we used the early Rapier here…” 😂 Note: I agree Stealth is super good and fun. It is one of my favorite abilities in the game. Stealth is subvertable if the enemy has “Seek Rectangle” or “Seek unit” AI tho. It’s not common for a Stealth unit to run into these issues outside of Ch 14, Hilda Para, or Marianne Para Super looking forward to this team and this run! 3H 4ever ❤
Using Cyril early could be really good for this challenge because you only have 1 2x CA option at that time until Leonie gets PBV or someone goes Grappler/Sniper. He won't be a long term investment, ofc but he can 1 shot most enemies in Miklan's map with a Steel Bow+.
Azure Moon is actually the best route to do church of seiros route on lol You have access to Gilbert and unlike Silver Snow, Cyril and Catherine don’t join in Chapter 12 Byleth- Enlightened One Dimitri- Great Lord Seteth- Wyvern Lord Flayn- Dancer… she the only option Manuela- Gremory? Or Trickster Hanneman- Dark Knight Alois- War Master Gilbert- Great Knight Catherine- Swordmaster w Death/Darting Blow Shamir- Sniper Cyril- Bow Knight Anna- ???
@@OriginalRaisins Oh, I think Mekkah said one of every Advanced/Master Class as part of his challenge. Plus Shamir would be the Hunter’s Volley user while Cyril can use Point Blank Volley
@@thescarredraven2634 Ah I remember yeah can't deploy more than 1. tbh Shamir Wyvern rider > Shamir Sniper. She's fast af just attack the enemy and kill them
Was trying Brawling Dimitri recently; utterly insane results. Some of the best shit in the game. Him and Felix are probably some of the best brawlers minus DLC.
Watching people stat stack and plan complicated battalion builds that require a ton of menu management is neat. I'm just gonna stick to faires, brave weapons/arts, and my hunters volley tho.
Being mentioned was a bit of a jumpscare lmao, though I do stand by that statement. Catherine just has good enough stats that if you just level her and recruit her early, she'll still kill stuff later in the game, and swordmaster is an OK job for that if you can't be bothered getting her a better class. Low as hell investment for high return.
One of the first stat benchmarks is that 17 AS on DK in the Rite of Rebirth. One of my M!Byleth or Yuri has to at least not get doubled by DK and Yuri is generally the one that can reach that stat benchmark since Byleth can actually be a hit or miss with his Speed growth.
Perfect timing! I just finished playing thru 3H and 3Hopes. It surprised me how similar these two games play with their long campaigns and juggernaut-centric gameplay.
Hey mekkah and everyone else who's interested in this question! I randomly gained the question: what abilities work while being a adjutant? I'm aware many don't work as they require situations that are impossible off the main team and i boiled the numbers down to 8; being Ferdinand, Petra, Dimitri, Ignatz, Lysithea, Cyril, Constanze and Hapi. Primarily i want to know if Cyril gets the 20 percent buff on his level up? If actually the hit rate is boosted on Ferdinand, Dimitri and Ignatz? And if Constanze is getting the offencive increase or if she's in a pocket universe of constant daylight? I believe Lysithea's and hapi's abilities are still functional by my memory! And Petra would be really hard to find out: The opponent needs to already be under 50, not die by the adjutanted and to make sure the opponent needs enough crit. resistance to make the 50 crit. increase matter. Just to see that it actually was her ability and not just a low percent critical by Crit-machine Petra! (I saw the question come up in the past, but it was mostly disqualifying units that require adjacency to be active. Accept Lysithea, but i already knew she got double weapon exp. as i grinded the S+ on everyone and everything save file. Plus a guy who didn't understand the question and stated the obvious about adjutant's)
Gosh all i did was train a very small number of students. I did my run of maddening after the sauna and Anna was released but before cindered Shaddows. So my students ended up getting a lot more exp from class but didn't have access to the Ashen wolves, new classes, or the abyss. Played as female Byleth on Golden Deer route. I recruited Sylvain immediately and used the Slyvain Sandwhich to clear the early maps. That's where you put Sylvain between Hilde and Leonie so all 3 have their personal skills active. Pretty much everyone got darting blow and mighty/magic blow Byleth ended up as a falcon knight Sylvain ended up as my dancer and he ended up having a crazy amount of avoid. Lysithea got dark spikes and warp super early. Ignatz took a detour through dark mage to get lifetaker because he was doing no damage. All of part one was just him spamming break shot or warding shot. He eventually started to do damage late in part 1 and once he hit sniper in part 2 he started doing a lot of damage and was consistently criting. Claude and Leonie (bow knight) were just consistent damage dealers that could hit and run. Hilde was a wyvern knight/ falcon rider/ armored knight based on map. She had the most kills out of everyone. Wanted to use Catherine and she ended up as a falcon knight Linhardt was just used for physic and warp. Sometimes he used his magic to fight. Casper, Raph, and Ferdinand were used as adjutants or as extra units on maps that had higher unit limits. Managed to recruit all students. Most i recruited just so i could do their paralogues. With such a low number of units i was able to keep my student motivated just by giving them gifts.
Not sure if it's too late for this, but if you've wanted to try using a Mortal Savant of all things that can win the stat race, Yuri actually does quite well. He has very light spells which are also accurate and have lots of casts, and although his magic is lower than most mages, enemies don't have res so he can double and one-round stuff for a lot of the game (think ch 5 until near endgame). He can be positioned more aggressively due to not getting doubled and his personal lets him one-round on enemy phase sometimes. His ranks are also very easy; he gets to C faith (B if you want silence), C+ sword for windsweep (he can use it with a levin sword if you need extra chip on a boss) and just focuses on reason otherwise, so he can comfortably reach warlock and potentially even get to S reason partway through part 2 for improved range. It's a bit RNG-dependent since if he gets speed-screwed, you just end up with a weak mage, but it's a fun build I've used on maddening several times with success if you want to give it a try. I usually grab him in chapter 3 to give him enough time to build reason rank, by chapter 5 he's one-rounding stuff at one range in mage and once he gets fiendish blow or warlock bases, he quite comfortably takes out a lot of enemies just by doubling with his wind spell. If he hits his averages, he can often do this without needing rallies or cooking for most of the game. The biggest downside is being stuck in 4 move as a warlock, but usually he autolevels part of the way through this during the time skip.
I think the only character I made a War Cleric besides Balthus was Mercedes because the thought of one of the gentlest people beating her enemies to death with her hands was too funny to pass up. Ironically enough, in that run she was better at it than Balthus.
What do you mean, you're not using the Chalice of Beginnings? Immunity to effective damage and free Counterattack from very early in the game is totally fair and balanced! Also, I was wondering whether anyone's managed to remove the guaranteed two +1s for students on level-up and do a true 0% growths run yet. I know Rengor's old run got some benefit out of getting Skill + Lck every level, but I haven't exactly kept up with 0% Three Houses since then.
True 0% growths (to be more precise, no stat-proc-on-level-up) patches exist in GameBanana. Topaz has a Silver Snow run with 0% growths and no gardening statboosters with this iirc. Raisins did runs with this privately as I understand it? And some other ppl seem to have done Crimson Flower. There are some older runs that edited caps to achive the same effect but that process I've been told is extremely tedious.
30:00 The real issue with Balthus is that he can't really Vantage tank since he has a random chance to heal from his Crest, which is a similar problem for anyone that self-heals randomly like Byleth or Edelgard. Also War Monk is a great class, the faith requirement is very low so certifying into it can be easier than going into Grappler, plus it's the only class that can use Magic *with* Gauntlets besides Commoner/Noble and Enlightened One. Being a magic class with 6 move is incredible. On the flip side, being a gauntlet user and then entering into War Monk gives a unit heal Utility on top of being a damage powerhouse, and while this playthrough isn't necessarily intending to get a lot of Class Masteries, War Monk's +20 Gauntlet Avoid making them able to actually enemy phase groups since the only enemies that have 'weapon triangle" skills over them are infantry mages and gauntlet users are naturally never weighed down so they get to benefit from the entire speed stat. And on a minor note, War Monk just has better growths compared to Byleth's Enlightened One, and has a mastery bonus of +1 in Axes so you don't lose as much progress going into War Master after spending a few weeks teaching Faith. Lastly, since Grappler and War Master are gender-locked, War Cleric is a good final class for someone like Annette or Constance.
When I look at Constance on the serene's wiki compared to Lysithea, I think Lysithea still wins out. Constance has nearly identically-low survival stats, with hampered speed growth at -15% and -1 base speed. Constance's spell list is also marginally worse, trading out Dark Spikes(39M), Seraphim(24M), Luna and Warp for: Bolting, Ward, _Rescue and Fire._ I think that's a _small_ downgrade since magic-range boosts are so common already, making Bolting not a _major_ game-changer. Her late-join _is free,_ unlike Lysithea, and she gets into mounted classes easier (but still not implausible for Lysithea), and just about everything else is just the same or actually a bit worse. But especially going down by 4 speed by level 20 is a heavy direct down grade that you have to take on a ranged combat character.
19:00 War Cleric is useful when you want to make a female Byleth (or Catherine) into a gauntlet focused character, since all other gauntlet focused classes are gender-locked.
What's funny about being limited to only one multi-attack combat art is that vengeance isn't a multi-attack, so if you really wanted to you could have all three vengeance users for "Fire Emblem the Three Revengers" for the fun of it. And they all get it at C+ lances so it's not even that hard honestly
I only completed one route of three houses (golden deer) and really couldnt get myself to do the others because.... the cathedral parts are so freaking boring and i cant bring myself to just skip them. Im not leaving resources on the table. This video even just in the first 10 mins is really pointing out tips for someone like me who hates the fact that the cathedral is like 30 mins to an hour in between maps all the time. should be fun
I'll be honest I've never really had a problem with reaching stats for adequate combat on maddening and i never really followed any of the meta. I usually avoid ng+ and dlc bonuses but i usually just clear maps as generally intended instead of going for quick clears.
I call myself a certified Yuri master. I know Yuri more than I know myself. Really hope you guys give Yuri a chance! He can really be an amazing, unkillable frontliner.
yey 3H maddening content! i vote for bernadetta for the flex spot. she is a must have in every maddening run of mine. vengeance + her personal is just SO GOOD in a mounted class and she wont overlap with another of your units (i think)
I love Bernie a lot - she's really entertaining to get as low as possible, especially the positioning game where she's at sub-10hp and will kill *anything* but will also die in one hit 💜
I find it hard to agree that Lysithea is worse than Constance. Lysithea has better combat with her higher apeed and Warp alone is better than Constances entire faith kit. I typically run her along with Hapi/Linhardt for 2 warp users and have her for combat when i only need 1 warp. Also i disagree that a unit relying on a Double combat art makes means their bad since not every unit can even kill with them. Bernadetta with the Sniper base strength can reach the benchmark to kill Armors in the endgame while someone like Ashe cant.
>Bernadetta with the Sniper base strength can reach the benchmark to kill Armors in the endgame while someone like Ashe cant. I found the following "armors in the endgame" CF 18 Fortress Knight 70 hp 41 prt 14 as (76 atk for 2hko) SS 21 Great Knight 79 hp 43 prt 22 as (83 atk for 2hko) AM 22 Fortress Knight 72 hp 55 prt 14 as (91 atk for 2hko) VW 22 Fortress Knight 81 hp 45 prt 17 as (86 atk for 2hko) Bernadetta with the sniper base strength can get 17 Sniper minimum Strength 1 Sniper Bonus Strength 5 Bowfaire - Class 18 Failnaught mt 1 Hunter's Volley 3 Charm 3 Sacred Power 3 Guardian 4 Rally Strength 6 Death Blow (brigand mastery) 5 Bowfaire - S+ bows 2 Strength+2 (fighter mastery) 4 Strength cooks 5 Persecution complex 8 Indech Sword Fighters =85 attack. Enough for 2 out of 4. Pretty good considering you tried as hard as possible. Funnily enough, Ashe has an easier time meeting these benchmarks since he, as a man, can master defiant str from Hero for a total of +3 over what Bernadetta can achieve. Meanwhile 18 Wyvern rider minimum Strength 3 wyvern rider bonus strength 57 axe of Ukonvasara mt (effective vs armor. You may also choose to use the 60 mt Axe of Zoltan+) 4 Seiros Pegasus (D rank battalion) 5 axefaire - class =83. I haven't even mastered any skills, cooked any stats, earned S+ in any weapons, equipped a non-free battalion, gone above level 20, or rallied yet. Now all you have to do is double the pathetically slow armored knight. 14 Wyvern rider minimum speed 3 Wyvern rider bonus speed 4 weight mitigation from wyvern rider minimum + bonus strength -15 Axe of Ukonvasara weight 2 speed ring 6 darting blow 4 rally speed =18, doubling two of them already. Dang, I had to master a skill.
"better speed" aka 4 points at level 30(2 in reality since miasma has 2 more weight than fire) assuming both recruited at chapter 3. I don't think that matters much , they'll both double the same thing and don't the same thing.
@@OriginalRaisins Funny that My set up wasn't as complicated as that Bernadetta 17 Sniper Base. Bowfaire from S+ and Class +10 Death Blow +6 Hunters Volley +1 Crit +10 Fraldarius Soldiers +7 Crit +20 Persecution Complex +5 Food +1 Killer Bow+ +10 Crit +35 Now Add Bow Crit +10 and a Crit ring This puts her at 57 Atk and 91 Crit Now for Luck they have VW 20, AM 18 , CF 16, SS 28, She never kills the AM General but can kill SS and CF as is and if we add Strength +2 then VW as well. Now her lowest odds is against the SS Great Knight where she has a 40% chance to kill, 50% for VW Fortress Knight and a 56% chance in CF. Now yes it won't happen all the time however I don't typically have her killing them in the first place, but she can still do it if needed in 3 out of 4 routes, and since there is only one in AM it isn't a problem if she can't kill, especially since I never go to that side anyway. Also taking the path of Fighter > Brigand > Sniper means I really never go out of the way or have to grind at all for any of those skills meaning I can focus on getting others skills that they want. She is a free delete button and I personally find that very valuable. I will point out that I purposely choose to never use the Blessing or Wall gambits on Maddening along with never using the battalion skills on Dimitri meaning I have quite a few less options than I would have otherwise.
@@naiRISE766 In Azure Moon my end game units are at 40 where on average Lysithea has 30 AS and Constance has 23 which is a 7 point difference. Now yes this doesn't help her offensively on this route however it definitely helps defensively. This prevents her from being doubled by Gremories, Dark Bishops, Mortal Savants, Snipers and Demonic beasts who all double Constance, and if Lysithea gets 1 more speed then Warlocks too. Add in Darting Blow which isn't hard for her to get and she now doubles the slower Mortal Savants and Gremories, along with the Snipers and beasts. Having more speed in this game is always a good thing and on top of that Lysithea as I said has a much better spell list as well.
I honestly forgot about the DLC characters. I did the DLC but never did a playthrough that incorporated them, because I got the piss screen... errr, excuse me, the Golden Aura start screen pretty early. Maybe I'll play along.
Not sure I understand the idea that using the Rapier/other DLC items is "pay to win" when you're simultaneously using the 4 DLC units. If you are already showing off what the DLC can do, why would you limit the rest of the advantages the DLC can give you? Aside from the obviously broken stuff like the stat boosters and the Chalice, I think Pagan Altar and other Abyss stuff would be fine to use.
I agree the argument that the all parts of the DLC are pay to win is dumb for two reasons one if so then their is no point in using the DLC classes because they make a lot of magic geared units far more viable as most base game magic classes are not that great and that fact that most of the broken stuff in the game are base game so that makes no fucking sense to me. Additionally, Three Houses DLC's price and game warping relative to other FE game is very inoffensive.
I've baited and killed the DK with Byleth before. They can reliably hit the benchmarks by lvl 11 to 13 with rallies. So, they need a bit of feeding before that.
The best 3h strat is just playing crimson flower so you can skip hunting by daybreak or whatever its called.(or just watching a bunch of units you dropped perish)
Idk I only did Maddening once and I did fine even with many units not in their “meta” class or builds. They all did fine. Sure I tried b.Vantage and b.Wrath on Dimitri to see what the fun was about, but it was too easy for the battalion to retreat so idk if I really prefer that over natural Vantage/Wrath. Hell, even on my first playthrough I had many units in intermediate classes cuz my dumb ass didn’t understand how reclassing works and I did just fine lmao. Not saying Three Houses is too easy, I more so want to show any character can be made to work and most characters can work in most classes. That’s what I love about this game. Very excited to watch this LP Mekkah!! Doing a Church only run currently and it’s fun.
@originalraisins My disappointment that you are not doing Physical Hapi is immeasurable. The build slaps so hard. I can’t remember if I sent you Ch. 9 at 100% COS but it was beautiful. Also, for Ch. 4 Death Knight while there are all sorts of shenanigans you can pull why not just have Byleth get D Axes and use Smash? Works at base with the right set up which is really not even that hard to do. Not super reliable but neither is tanking with someone who gets 3 shot cause that Scythe got beeg crit stat.
I was just in the mood for more content of the game with Alois and the other people (no way, Hanneman slander, at least he's better than Ashe and Anna right?)
Only halfway through the video rn but trust using war cleric Constance with mystic blow will make you a war cleric and magic combat art believer she can and will one hit anything that isn’t a mage or peg/falc knight
Curious what is it about Constance that outclasses all other battle mages? She's got a good spell list, a good magic growth, and utility for sure, but so does Lysithea. Both would suffer from spell weight due to low strength and not double a lot. She does having Bolting so that's nice, but I'm not sure what else about her stands out?
One point in her favor is that dark flier is the most mobile magic class and Constance benefits from this class more than Lysithea due to her spell list consisting of black magic spells which dark flier’s black tomefaire boosts. Not sure if her boon in flying matters a lot in terms of getting into this class as well. Maybe her personal also helps out with reaching benchmarks as well with the +3 dmg indoors?
@@50mLsalt Gotcha. I threw Lysithea on Valkyrie when I did Maddening as to make her a magical sniper. 1-5 dark magic with Thyrsus (Lorenz I didn't like so I just made him Sylvain's defense adjutant). But yeah, that makes sense. Tomefaire-boosted Bolting sounds nice for sure. Honestly I never really considered benchmarks at all my one time. I had a plan of what classes I wanted everyone to be in and what skills, but besides certifying Byleth in Pegasus by Ch 12 that was it. Kinda took everything by ear for the most part.
Real question With all this DLC talk, where's Anna? Is she getting recruited? Delayed until post-timeskip? I also noticed that Raisins mentioned only 2 good DLC paralogues :P BTW I think you might want to credit LoneRecon for the enemy data Imgur album.
@@Mekkkahyou have to at least recruit her and experience her terrible paralogue. Worst map in the series if you actually try and engage with getting the loot

What are the chances I'm doing a 3h run myself but with a no monastery(unless forced or getting dancer), aux and paralogue rule. though I do broken weapon grind for mastery on some main chapter maps that contains a renewal priests/immobile bosses/mobile boss that can be rooted( spent 6 training bows enclosering ch14 Randolph after baiting him to be on a heal tile to get Ignatz hunter's volley just to ended up to not using it anyway because rallying is better). Excited to see some minimal mastery run!
Ah, one other thing to ask: how do we feel about Master Class mastery skills? Defiant Res/Avo/Speed etc? It always feels really difficult to pull off, but I'm trying my Vengeance Bernie with Defiant Speed since the +8 is enough to swing being doubled into doubling. Has anyone ever used them or are they too niche?
idk it seems way too easy to accidentally create a team that cannot kill him, and all the in-game dialogue to suggest avoiding him is still there. I've played the map without fighting him before and it was still exciting...though he really shouldn't start moving of his own accord just because another enemy walks by him lol
@@Mekkkah That's just part of the "untested" bit to me. Being closed off to half the map feels so awkward. But I understand I'm cherry picking what's deliberate and what's not.
Are maddening enemies really that difficult?? Just seeing the caption I feel like that's somewhat an exaggeration that leads to players feeling the need to mix-max and everything like this. Not to say it's a skill issue or anything like that but I beat 3H maddening with little to no guide as my first fire emblem game (not my first difficulty though) and it was...hard, but extremely manageable? And I would never even consider doing wyverns or anything like that because I unironically think that makes it harder. I just never understood where this idea that it's unfair or inflated somehow comes from. I wonder if I had a leg up precisely because it was my first FE game; I wasn't expecting it to be any other way and so I played it as it wanted me to play it, not like it was a different FE.
Ok having now gotten into the video I realize I just agree with Rengor and he is based and epic (I really don't understand the grinding idea though!! I dont think it's necessary ToT)
imo “pay to win” is not really a concept that fits into a single player game, that you have to buy to even play at all. If something added by the dlc is fun (and to me, being powerful is pretty much always fun) then it’s worth using. but if it’s not fun, it’s not worth using.
Tbh fair FE has a bad habit of adding dlc classes that kinda are too strong (see fates dlc classes) or don't matter in the slightest (see echoes 3rd stage classes)

Why does that last line go so hard?!
You get in that garden with Dedue and farm those Rocky Burdocks!
What a MANLY MAN Dedue
@@OriginalRaisins A man in tights, YES!
Ashnard IS technically playable in fe9's trial maps. You just have to beat the game... *checks notes* 15 times to unlock him!
More power to you guys. Feel like 3H suffers from FE4 syndrome - more fun to plan than it is to play. Looking forward to the playthrough tho
Glad I can enjoying the planning and playing of fe 4
FE4 is really fun once you embrace the cavalier sweep and leave the crappy foot units behind.
I personally enjoy playing both FE 4 and 3 houses just as much as I enjoy planning for them
@@hanzou1238 There are dozens of us.
Ay at least both aren't as bad as fe7 with the huge Marcus 1-2 range sweep of the early-mid game
I read "an introduction to a new LP" yesterday on the community post. I was expecting a video that was around 60 minutes shorter than this one lol.
Trust me, Dedue should be your lone Wyvern. *nods sagaciously*

Great Timing on this lets play. I was just thinking about Three Houses again and wanted to start learning about the game's meta.
I’m waiting for all of the moments where Raisins mentions, “ you know if we used the early Rapier here…” 😂
Note: I agree Stealth is super good and fun. It is one of my favorite abilities in the game. Stealth is subvertable if the enemy has “Seek Rectangle” or “Seek unit” AI tho. It’s not common for a Stealth unit to run into these issues outside of Ch 14, Hilda Para, or Marianne Para
Super looking forward to this team and this run! 3H 4ever ❤

I just wanna hit enemies with the rapier :(
Using Cyril early could be really good for this challenge because you only have 1 2x CA option at that time until Leonie gets PBV or someone goes Grappler/Sniper.
He won't be a long term investment, ofc but he can 1 shot most enemies in Miklan's map with a Steel Bow+.
Cyril OWNS
This is your daily reminder to make Flayn a fortress knight and Dedue a bishop to “fix” their growths 😛
Azure Moon is actually the best route to do church of seiros route on lol
You have access to Gilbert and unlike Silver Snow, Cyril and Catherine don’t join in Chapter 12
Byleth- Enlightened One
Dimitri- Great Lord
Seteth- Wyvern Lord
Flayn- Dancer… she the only option
Manuela- Gremory? Or Trickster
Hanneman- Dark Knight
Alois- War Master

Catherine- Swordmaster w Death/Darting Blow
Shamir- Sniper
Cyril- Bow Knight

Was trying Brawling Dimitri recently; utterly insane results. Some of the best shit in the game. Him and Felix are probably some of the best brawlers minus DLC.
Dimitri + Steel Lance + Knightkneeler + Crest of Blaiddyd = dead death knight
The real stat benchmarks were the combat arts we got along the way
Watching people stat stack and plan complicated battalion builds that require a ton of menu management is neat.
I'm aware many don't work as they require situations that are impossible off the main team and i boiled the numbers down to 8;
being Ferdinand, Petra, Dimitri, Ignatz, Lysithea, Cyril, Constanze and Hapi.
And Petra would be really hard to find out:
The opponent needs to already be under 50, not die by the adjutanted and to make sure the opponent needs enough crit. resistance to make the 50 crit. increase matter.
Very excited for the future!
Pretty much everyone got darting blow and mighty/magic blow
Byleth ended up as a falcon knight
Sylvain ended up as my dancer and he ended up having a crazy amount of avoid.
Wanted to use Catherine and she ended up as a falcon knight
Linhardt was just used for physic and warp.
I started wheezing at the Abraham Lincoln quote from 776 🤣🤣🤣 56:39
What do you mean, you're not using the Chalice of Beginnings?
Love how one of Balthus' points of interest is "Big, bulky man"
Also I hear that Unicorn Overlord music
I love this game! Excited to see someone tear it apart in a good way :)
Lysithea is not doubling ever anyway. Bolting is also very useful for support bonuses.
Very excited for this playthrough. Interested to see how chapter 13 plays out with this comp.
19:00
War Cleric is useful when you want to make a female Byleth (or Catherine) into a gauntlet focused character, since all other gauntlet focused classes are gender-locked.
I actually thought I wanted to go back to Three Houses lately, thank you for answering my wish lol
I started wheezing at the Abraham Lincoln quote from 776 🤣🤣🤣
What's funny about being limited to only one multi-attack combat art is that vengeance isn't a multi-attack, so if you really wanted to you could have all three vengeance users for "Fire Emblem the Three Revengers" for the fun of it.
I'm really excited to see the most optimal Blue Lions team - all Great Knights ❤
yey 3H maddening content!
i vote for bernadetta for the flex spot. she is a must have in every maddening run of mine. vengeance + her personal is just SO GOOD in a mounted class and she wont overlap with another of your units (i think)
I love Bernie a lot - she's really entertaining to get as low as possible, especially the positioning game where she's at sub-10hp and will kill *anything* but will also die in one hit 💜
Bernadetta OP. I always make her my dancer.
I like making constance a Dancer because her siege spell can give you like a map wide linked attack.
>Bernadetta with the Sniper base strength can reach the benchmark to kill Armors in the endgame while someone like Ashe cant.
I found the following "armors in the endgame"
CF 18 Fortress Knight 70 hp 41 prt 14 as (76 atk for 2hko)
SS 21 Great Knight 79 hp 43 prt 22 as (83 atk for 2hko)
AM 22 Fortress Knight 72 hp 55 prt 14 as (91 atk for 2hko)
VW 22 Fortress Knight 81 hp 45 prt 17 as (86 atk for 2hko)
Bernadetta with the sniper base strength can get
17 Sniper minimum Strength
1 Sniper Bonus Strength
5 Bowfaire - Class
18 Failnaught mt
1 Hunter's Volley
3 Charm
3 Sacred Power
3 Guardian
4 Rally Strength
6 Death Blow (brigand mastery)
5 Bowfaire - S+ bows
2 Strength+2 (fighter mastery)
4 Strength cooks
5 Persecution complex
8 Indech Sword Fighters
=85 attack. Enough for 2 out of 4. Pretty good considering you tried as hard as possible. Funnily enough, Ashe has an easier time meeting these benchmarks since he, as a man, can master defiant str from Hero for a total of +3 over what Bernadetta can achieve.
Meanwhile
18 Wyvern rider minimum Strength
3 wyvern rider bonus strength
57 axe of Ukonvasara mt (effective vs armor. You may also choose to use the 60 mt Axe of Zoltan+)
4 Seiros Pegasus (D rank battalion)
5 axefaire - class
=83. I haven't even mastered any skills, cooked any stats, earned S+ in any weapons, equipped a non-free battalion, gone above level 20, or rallied yet. Now all you have to do is double the pathetically slow armored knight.
14 Wyvern rider minimum speed
3 Wyvern rider bonus speed
4 weight mitigation from wyvern rider minimum + bonus strength
-15 Axe of Ukonvasara weight
2 speed ring
6 darting blow
4 rally speed
=18, doubling two of them already. Dang, I had to master a skill.
"better speed" aka 4 points at level 30(2 in reality since miasma has 2 more weight than fire) assuming both recruited at chapter 3. I don't think that matters much , they'll both double the same thing and don't the same thing.
@@OriginalRaisins Funny that My set up wasn't as complicated as that
Bernadetta
17 Sniper Base.
Bowfaire from S+ and Class +10
Death Blow +6
Hunters Volley +1 Crit +10
Fraldarius Soldiers +7 Crit +20
Persecution Complex +5
Food +1
Killer Bow+ +10 Crit +35
Now Add Bow Crit +10 and a Crit ring
This puts her at 57 Atk and 91 Crit
Now for Luck they have VW 20, AM 18 , CF 16, SS 28,
She never kills the AM General but can kill SS and CF as is and if we add Strength +2 then VW as well.
OTL He didn't even make it into the Flex Slot. Glad to see some Manuela love, though.

So excited for this run!
The Unicorn Overlord soundtrack on a Fire Emblem let's play is a decision.
I've baited and killed the DK with Byleth before. They can reliably hit the benchmarks by lvl 11 to 13 with rallies. So, they need a bit of feeding before that.

First? Maybe, first to be as excited for the video as I am!

Only halfway through the video rn but trust using war cleric Constance with mystic blow will make you a war cleric and magic combat art believer she can and will one hit anything that isn’t a mage or peg/falc knight
Yes suh

Rapier good? DS2 confirmed
My issue with war cleric/monk is the 2 units that would benefit from it both come with/slash get neato personal weapons that aren't gaunlets
Anyone else never bench their team if they have to be in the first timeskip mission (besides Cf route where it’s skipped)
Unicorn overlord music? would you play it on channel one day?
Hey mekkah for the "only 1 of every class per map" restriction does that include hunting by daybreak?
I'll try! I imagine it won't be too much of an issue since I'm not using most in-house units.
You what would be neat for lysithea to have?
Hexblade instead of soulblade

How will you guys be handling paralogues, do as many as possible or just the ones you get?
manuela dookie
Death knight in maddening seems like you are supposed to kill him. His move range is just way too huge and deliberately turned on compared to hard
idk it seems way too easy to accidentally create a team that cannot kill him, and all the in-game dialogue to suggest avoiding him is still there.
Tbh fair FE has a bad habit of adding dlc classes that kinda are too strong (see fates dlc classes) or don't matter in the slightest (see echoes 3rd stage classes)
oh hell nah we got trickster supporters now wtf
3H sucks
Lol just use wyvern knights
unironically it's true
