If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

@@JoshuaGill hey bud, I first saw Alex on a Dragon from Dragons Den podcast, Stephen Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO. I then read both “offers” and “leads” - this led me to the podcast and also here. I actioned within a week a small modest business with my GF doing events at assisted living accommodation and through warm outreach, referrals and the hinge method. Giving free events etc to build trust and even buzzing on the doors -which by the way gave me massive imposter syndrome- it was so much easier to give away free services, and then blow their minds and to this day they have all secured future paid bookings.

An original is always worth more than a copy... So glad Alex and Leila are original and authentic. So refreshing in this world. They also have high levels of "openness" which is a super power in this day and age... the ability to have your mind changed if you receive sufficient evidence that your point of view is wrong, allows quick pivoting and traction in business!! Such self awareness and general agreeableness.

We are all facing billion dollar decisions every day. The biggest challenge that most of us face is do we actually believe that we can create a billion-dollar empire?
Alex clearly has and that is the main difference between him and you. The cool part is that he is openly willing to share his pearls of wisdom with the rest of us and anybody with a half a brain should be taking copious notes on everything that he says because success leaves clues!

“You took one step to becoming the person you ultimately want to be” made me emotional. I may have set the bar too high for myself in life and I just dnt have the potential to get there.
Everyone has the potential my dude. One step towards the person you want to be is 365 steps towards in in a year. How many steps do you think it takes? A thousand? Done in 3 years. Don’t underestimate yourself bro!
Some people believe they don't need to create a billion-dollar empire to have a meaningful, impactful, fulfilling, and ultimately happy life. And they are right. I personally know a lot more people (in real life, not on social media) who have all of that because they decided to work less, retire early, make less money etc., and as a result, are truly happy than those who keep working and hustling like maniacs. If you do care about money though, keep in mind that not all family trees are aligned equally. What I mean by that is your great-grandfather might have been a lot richer than Alex's, you are a lot poorer, your child or grandchild might again be a lot richer than his etc. Things can go up or down A LOT from one generation to the next and it's important to see yourself as a single link in your family tree's chain, not as the whole chain. For example, look at Jeff Bezos' mom, she gave birth to him at the age of 17 and had nothing and nobody. She was probably in a lot worse of a situation than Alex's mom, however her son today is a lot richer than Alex. One day in the future Alex's kids or grandkids might be a lot richer than Jeff's and so on, you get the picture.

I love the plane thinking time. I am super lucky as I live in the alps, and I can get up top of the mountain regularly. Summer or winter. Puts all problems into perspective. The majesty of the mountains is surreal, and they always have an answer.
I made a note to myself: The bigger and better you become, the more opportunities open up for you! And no half measures!
