My one regret in life is not being able to play an instrument or understand music, though I listen to plenty. I hated music lessons in school because nothing was being taught. I learned more in the first ten minutes of this video than all the boring music lessons in school, or since. I'm 56.
Yeah, I'm a big fan of simple, practical advice that people can use right away. If it's any consolation, I can barely play any instruments either, I draw on all the notes in the DAW. It's never too late if you did want to try your hand at learning to play an instrument.
This video was great! I have been making music for more than 10 yrs and it took me a long time to pick up a lot of these lessons, and these things are really foundational. I like the suggestions on smoothing out the transition between sections, as I can have quite a bit of trouble not making things jarring. Thank you!
