@nicrothlisberger5390 I prefer the look as well, love my flatbed for ranch work but always hated seeing the frame rails hanging out. Have plans to build a western hauler style bed but can't seem to make time for all my projects.
I’m curious to see what you’re going to do with the wipers, I’m actually doing the same thing for my dad but with a Lincoln mark V, basically an f150 and there’s no room to put the stock 79 wipers back in and the 06 don’t look like they’ll line up. I’m going to see if I can get the wipers off a 96, they go under the cowl like the 06 but seem to be a better fit under the 79, thanks.. Tina actually gave me the inspiration to do this for him.👍🏽
Keeps it simple as posssible. Welded right a straight cut and plate on the inside is just as strong as a z cut. And way less complicated to lay out and cut out

I would probably still set the next one this low I like not having a body lift between the bed and the frame!

Curious as to why you cut frame straight up and down and not Z cut it. Also, no fish plate? Or box the frame?
