Got Lab & Friends for Christmas 2006 along with my Nintendo DS Lite. This theme still brings a smile to my face. People really have no idea how charming this game is until they play it for themselves. One of my favorite DS games ever.
@@maxmayfield1022 i did a while ago, the reason i hadnt played for ages was because i lost the card so i played it for about an hour when i found it. i didnt enjoy it as much as i used to, which is a shame, but im glad i could see my dogs again
Dogs have long memories. I'm not sure if mine even still remember me. Sometimes I wonder where my Nintendogs go when they run away. The answer is fairly obvious: To meet one of the other dog's owners, who give them food and water before your dog is ready to return home because they've missed you so badly. So I imagine my Nintendogs, after the past 20 years, would go out every day, visit Archie or whoever was already walking their dog, come home, wait for me to return, and be disappointed when they learned I wasn't coming back. It's very depressing, yet somewhat relieving since Nintendogs live forever. Although, looking back on it, I'm not sure how that makes me feel. Immortality is both a gift and a curse, and when your dogs live forever, they always assume so do you. They don't understand that there are some kids who used to play this game who have either grown up and donated their game, or have died from cancer. It must have put a smile on their face to know they at least got to enjoy their final moments with their best friends. The same with me. When I was younger I had trouble making friends. I got in so much trouble at school because of it, but when I discovered Nintendogs I started to become more confident. But I was never very good at keeping track of my DS games. I always had a habit of leaving my games out and not putting them back in the box. Wherever my old copy of Dachshund & Friends is now, I only hope whoever may have found it has made some good childhood memories. One thing I appreciate about this game is that even if you never play it again, one day you'll have kids, they'll play this game, grow up, have kids of their own, and teach them how to play Nintendogs. It's the kind of game that countless generations of American youth can enjoy, like a priceless family heirloom, unless they were dumb enough to donate one of your dogs, in which case you would just scream at them for five minutes.
I wasn’t alive during the mid 2000’s but as a person who has a working copy of the rarest one (best friends) I can say that I could relate to all of you folks from the mid 2000s.
Happened to me too. PTSD of my childhood memories knowing my Nintendogs will outlive me and the only thing worse for them then being neglected is the realization that they're immortal, made to be passed down from generation to generation. From me, to my kids, to their grandkids, and so on, or until they damage the game cartridge, donate my dogs, misplace the game cartridge, or delete my save file. Nintendo has always taken great pride in keeping their content family friendly for the most part. It would be extremely dark to give Nintendogs such a short life span like real dogs. But this game was my whole childhood. I wasn't good at making friends. So I decided all I'll need are virtual ones. Then I became an adult. There are some childhood memories I want to relive, and technology has made that dream a reality. But it doesn't have the same impact. Playing Nintendogs on an emulator means I have to start over.
aaaa, this theme is my childhood. this was one of my first Nintendo DS games. I wish I could travel back to 2007. ; ; (even though this theme may awaken some unwanted memories too)
I remember one time I decided to reset my game and start fresh, and as soon as I did it and lost my dogs, I started crying lol. My parents were very comforting but I think I still regret it to this day 😅😂
Loved this game when I was a kid, but for some reason, after years of playing it, my younger self got rid of all of the dogs and then reset the profile out of guilt. I'm still angry at myself for this. Too bad the cartridge doesn't work anymore.
I did a variation of losing my two Dalmatians, I did not realise that the Dog Charity Centre (I forgot the name but you could place dogs there or get rid of them.) got rid of the dogs. Regret.
If you'd have a 2ds or a 3ds, and the game card(if that's what it's called), you could play it too! I've got Mario Party DS and Super Mario 64 DS and can play them on my 2ds.
I can still hear the happy barks of my nintendogs through this theme
Anyone who remembers this theme your childhood was awesome! 🙏🏼💋
The problem is that none of us can ever forget
we'll never forget
I remember it and my childhood was riddled with anxiety lmao
People who still have it:

I got a DSi in april and i play nintendogs! This theme is like... one of the best melodies ever!!😊
Enjoy it! Even in 2023 it is a enjoyable experience.
This game is so dear to me. One of the very first games I was given. I also have my Nintendogs beanbag plushies as well.
Glad my copy still works today and I still have all of the puppies I had since I was a kid. Growing up in the mid 2000s was amazing

I started sobbing violently as soon as I heard the opening 😭😭😭😭

Now I’m listening it on Nintendo Music… Thank you for sharing it anyway before Nintendo Music !
shout out to my cousin who immediately lost my nintendogs cartridge after i gave it to him as a present, hope to see you again Jonathan, miss you pal
My dogs just coming to welcome me back as this song plays...
Man the memories.
It's so odd hearing a clear version after hearing it from my crappy ds speakers for so long.
Hope we’ll see a new nintendogs game soon…
Shigeru Miyaomota is an under appreciated goat for creating this franchise 😇
He is kinda over appreciated for a certain red plumber
It's interesting how so such a game still captures people's hearts with a OST, Nintendogs is one of these cases.
Although you might still have the DS game card, you gotta admit we used to play this every day at one point
I remember playing these games. They were a lot of fun
I just bought a dsi and nitendogs and I love this theme😊😊😊
my parents asking me if i can take of my own dog at 20 like i didn't play this religiously as a kid
Just thinking about all the Nintendo dogs that have been left alone throughout the years since we grew up…🥹
Aww. This is just adorable I love puppy games
I love this game i played it so much but now my nintendo ds games have been deleted and i cant play it anymore😭😭😭😭
cute but I can't listen to this without dogs barking at me... :/
I Love Nintendogs!
I use to be obsessed with Nintendogs growing up
Rip my dogs for letting them starve to death wait it's just a game they don't die
The crusty speakers played it better.
this game is almost 20 years old it only feels like 10!!!!
I haven't heard of the game before but I think it was awesome :3

I accidentally did the exact thing with that drawn to life game cause I didn't know what "Clear game data" meant
I did a variation of losing my two Dalmatians, I did not realise that the Dog Charity Centre (I forgot the name but you could place dogs there or get rid of them.) got rid of the dogs. Regret.
