Dylann Roof’s White Supremacist Views, Links to Hate Group Revealed After Charleston Church Massacre

- democracynow.org - Church bells tolled Sunday and hundreds filled the church’s pews of the historic Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, for the first service since Dylann Roof’s attack on a Bible session in its basement last Wednesday. An estimated 20,000 people formed a Bridge to Peace unity chain on the Ravenel Bridge to show solidarity with his victims. A website discovered Saturday called "The Last Rhodesian" shows photographs of Roof at Confederate heritage sites and hosts a 2,500-word manifesto he is believed to have written that explains why he chose to carry out his mass murder spree. "Roof might have been a high school dropout, but he was an excellent student, it seems, of the white supremacist world," says Richard Cohen, president of the Southern Poverty Law Center. He is co-author of an editorial published today in The New York Times titled "White Supremacists Without Borders."

My question is why is he still a judge? He sentences black folks and other minorities to jail. How can he be a judge if we know he ant be fair. That's the problem. Racist are allowed top jobs to affect as many minority people as he can. In his life how many people has he given unfair or unnecessary sentences to? How many judges around the country are the same way? Vilify the poor but coddling the wealthy and whites in this country. If the U.S. gave me land to move to, I would leave. This country is going to shit. Before I get any cowards claiming I don't love my country I'll have you know, I served my country, what have you done?
As a European woman, I take offense at hearing the United States described as a "European country". I don't have anything against the United States, and I can't say that there isn't any racism in Europe, but the United States are in no way a "European country"

***** Whilst I sort of agree with you, in this case I will have to disagree. Democracy Now is all about good, honest, journalism. If people are put off by the quality of the video and are not captured by the content, then I don't think they are the type of people to watch Democracy Now in the first place. Too much value is put in to how things look these days. Peel away the slick visuals on 90% of the 24 hour news channels, what do you have? Lies.
This dude who's narrating this story is giving me the creeps. Seriously man, just report the story and leave the not so subtle political and social feeling out of it. Be an actual, you know, journalist.
