"The right man in the right place" is literally the opposite of why Gordon was placed in stasis in the first place. He triggered the problem so he's gonna fix it.
Or maybe, if you look into it further, everything was done to blame Gordon. The crystal he pushes into the antimass spectrometer blows up, but because the spectrometer was boosted, all because of the administration. It's funny... if you know what to look for you can really tell that those little expository newspaper articles about things like Earth's surrender were written by a novelist and not a journalist. They don't follow that rule where a newspaper article always gives you the most relevant pieces of information first and then fills in background information after. They read more like a piece of a novel. The main difference between articles and narration is that an article, which these aren't, is meant to be read by someone who lives in the same world where it's published. Narration, which these are, is directed towards a reader who lives in a different one. :) In short, they're written to tell the game's story and you can smell storyteller all over them XD

I think that the combine's major mistake in their occupation of earth is that they use the trans-human arm of the combine overwatch to guard cities. They should've used other military assets instead of humans since we are so adept at fighting each other.
Probably it was less resource intensive to use humans against humans, they practically had to do nothing, we just messed up each other without doing any serious damage to them or any other of their millitary units. The only thing they did care about was teleportation within world since they couldn't do it. But considering how wast their empire is, even this thing probably is just an insignificant thing to them in the grand scheme of things.
It's part of their conquering strategy. Using a species own strenghts against them. The error of the combine was not to use transhuman troops but their error was multi-layered. For one they underestimated the resistance and let them free reign on the coast for too long. Another part is that their forces were intended for occupational purposes and not full on war. Also combine soldiers are really nerfed compared to a resistance fighter lorewise.
this make me wish for a half life/fallout rpg style game, we play as a resistance member, scavenging, helping the small communities, ambushing the Combine, while the fight between Freeman and the Combine take place
Wait a minute, I thought that the rocket launched a satellite relay that basically blocked external portals. I didn't know that they shot it into the thing?
How about the lore behind the G-Man, i havent seen that much about him on your channel. And in some of the comments i can see people mentioning Xen, more about that would be cool also. Maybe more on Xen technology and Alien Grunts and Controllers, i really liked those creatures of Half Life. I wish to see their comeback in Half Life 3. And wouldnt it be cool that Half Life 3 concludes its story on a Combine planet, where their main headquarters is located in an all out war between the Combine on the one side and Xen, RaceX creatures and humans on the other lead by Gordon Freeman, Adrian Shephard, Alyx Vance and Barney Calhoun. Maybe a colab between different characters, where a player could swith to one of them and finish one part of the puzzle while the other gets what he needs from it. It has to be done in a smart way though. A platformer game Brothers A Tale Of Two Sons comes to mind. But, Valve can take that concept and make something magnificent from it for the gameplay of HL3 in Source 2. I know they wont do anything if its not a revolutionary idea. And also about the story, the only conclusion to the this game that would blew everyones mind would be if Gordon sacrificed himself for the greater good, but not died. Maybe become some omnipotent entity like G-Man that could offer him a permanent employment with his employers, and could always watch over Alyx and the others as their protector. Of course "what" G-Man is should never be fully revealed, that would kill the mistery of Half Life. Maybe some exploration about that within Vortigaunt culture that Gordon would visit during the HL3 storyline to enlighten himself and gain new purpose. Meanwhile Shephard could negotiate with RaceX, while Alyx and Barney gather up the humanity to resist. That would be a great storyline. And very emotionaly impactfull. I just dont know how all of that would fit into a single game, but it would be cool to withness all that. Your channel is one of the best about Half Life content, keep up the great work.

thanks you for repeating information you can get from the game itself without much thinking. Its not like ppl who watch such videos actually played them or something
Lol i think humans are just really stubborn and hate being under anyones thumb! I think people who have something to protect (including themselves but especially family) fall into a gradient of bravery... Duh. It's an awesome storyline! Makes me think of Anne Mccaffery and her series... But that has a romance involved and people being abducted and placed as fodder colony to either die or make it and eventually being made to act as slaves and give over the anything they produced. Her books are really fun and brilliantly written. She actually went to experts to find out how things work. She has the dragon riders of pern series. Dragons bond w people who fill different roles in a group of dragons depending on their color and size. They are fighting thread a deadly invasion that eats anything organic and spreads at an insane rate. This happens every 250 years and their whole culture is based on this. The wings are based off of fighter pilot strategies. The thread falls in clouds and patterns and they have weyrs (where the dragons and their riders live) across the world to cover the holds (towns that have to live underground in rock to protect them.) Anyway lol she wrote a ton of books and they are all awesome! Her son (todd Mccaffery) now writes and is pretty good but I don't necessarily think his characters are as amazing and lovable as hers. Anyway sorry for the long vaguely related ideas... Lol I just wanted to share an author you might like. You can get the series on audio books and I really prefer them that way. There are some epic readers. Just again wanted to say as I'm watching all your work how much I love it and deeply appreciate the level of care and beauty you put it! Also how over time the smoothness, delivery, nuance and skill of your voice/reading has developed 😊 it's awesome! Honestly I can't wait till you get your gold play button!
What if there was like an actual well made open world Half Life game or RTS? Where you could take the fight or the Combine, making your own bases, commanding the different bases. You could also play as The Combine, that would be fun.
Could you imagine the resistance forming an uprising against HL:A Combine? Ordinals, APF, Grunts, and WallHammers??? Something tells me that it wouldn't last too long.
I know it would be impossible. But considering Alyx took out some of those too. Chances are, the Resistance would have it half the time more difficult. Half the time more difficult. Also the Borealis. I think the Earth Resistance want to contact other Resistances through the other Universes
@@DONG-502 Not really. They are more powerful forces And they Are specifically for crowded control. The ONLY element that Alyx had was the element of surprise and guerilla-type Warfare + being solo. Mixing that with Resistance's groups which Are more loud and crowded, which, the Hl:A combine were made for, the Resistance would have it DEFINITELY harder.
where is the resistance in the rest of the world? Don’t they have other leaders in the rest of the world who aren’t necessarily survivors of the black Mesa incident? Don’t they have other technologies and weapons to fight the combine? Just wondering

Who would win *military with thousands of powerful trained men and women*
*Or some civilian Bois with guns*
A good video, would like to see more like this
Imagine the combine actually defeated by ressistance and the earth lives along with vort species
17:10 the mudskipper
You take some creative liberties with some aspects of the story, but good video!
At least there's not an infinite amount of combine anymore
Your channel is one of the best about Half Life content, keep up the great work.
i wonder when the resistance will find aperture
Hopefully soon. It could help them a lot.
Love your videos
This is 10 times better than the history channel
God damn notification off again ( although i clicked on the bell to get notified , your videos are the most i am alerted this time period , luckly i missed you only 11 hours so talk later )
RUclips is shady sometimes. I hope you enjoyed it. It was longer than normal but it was a big topic! :D
I am sad, Lamar is Kliener’s pet headcrab
I said the wrong name 😂 caught it after the upload sadly!
thanks you for repeating information you can get from the game itself without much thinking.
The thread falls in clouds and patterns and they have weyrs (where the dragons and their riders live) across the world to cover the holds (towns that have to live underground in rock to protect them.)
Anyway lol she wrote a ton of books and they are all awesome! Her son (todd Mccaffery) now writes and is pretty good but I don't necessarily think his characters are as amazing and lovable as hers.
Anyway sorry for the long vaguely related ideas... Lol
I just wanted to share an author you might like.
Honestly I can't wait till you get your gold play button!
amazing video!
Glad you think so! Thanks for the support!
This game is so fuckin important and unique
I think it would be a cool game idea to play as lambda cell operative
great vid
Thank you!
Love half life videos!!
There's more to come! Thank you :)
Absolutely love this one
As someone who sincerely values freedom and individuality, and I've also fired a real MP7, I would join the resistance. No hesitation.
Amazing video keep it up and can you do some fallout lore as will
Thank you! Maybe in the future!
Skyrionn get through a video without saying 'with ease' at least 3 times challenge (99% fail)
What if there was like an actual well made open world Half Life game or RTS? Where you could take the fight or the Combine, making your own bases, commanding the different bases. You could also play as The Combine, that would be fun.
Oh well
Well, Arma 3 Antistasi or KP Libration with the half life mod kinda allows you to do that, maybe that will scratch your itch.
@@tintero969Lambda Wars aren't pretty bad. I have played this game for 4-5 hours. (I prefer this. It's Alien Swarm mod.)
Damn, now I just want to play Half-Life 2 again
Play through it on synergy
Could you imagine the resistance forming an uprising against HL:A Combine?
Ordinals, APF, Grunts, and WallHammers??? Something tells me that it wouldn't last too long.
I know it would be impossible.
But considering Alyx took out some of those too.
Chances are, the Resistance would have it half the time more difficult.
Half the time more difficult.
Also the Borealis. I think the Earth Resistance want to contact other Resistances through the other Universes
Those units are weaker then the ones in HL2 so no
@@DONG-502 Not really.
@@yeboxxx_channel_2505 HL:ALYX units act more human so their will be less efective
@@DONG-502 more human Is not exactly the main case.
They still do react but they can do this as part of luring tactic.
You have a very nice voice to listen to.
You have nice words to read
@@Skyrionn Touché :P
Rebels should use the combine helmets, more protection.
I would fight & die fighting for something greater than myself
A great mindset to have
What do you make of Odessa Cubbage being seen speaking with the G-Man?
where is the resistance in the rest of the world? Don’t they have other leaders in the rest of the world who aren’t necessarily survivors of the black Mesa incident? Don’t they have other technologies and weapons to fight the combine?
Just wondering
It’s not a lambda it is a hand holding a crowbar!
Good time killer :)
Awesome sauce
I'm still waiting to be "hunted" but hell I'm not going to going to complain
The Resistance are coming for you
