There's 5 versions of Mic Drop
1. Original (mostly Korean lyrics, with original beat)
2. Steve Aoki Remix (more English lyrics, with remix)
3. Japanese Version (yes they make music in Japanese too)

5. MAMAwards performance Remix

The writers of BTS' Mic Drop are: RM (BTS' leader) Supreme Boi (BTS' in house producer and songwriter), Hitman" Bang (BTS' CEO), J-Hope (BTS' dance leader), and Pdogg (BTS' producer, composer, and lyricist). During the behind the scenes shooting for Mic Drop, RM stated that Mic Drop was inspired by former President Obama's 2016 White House Correspondent Dinner speech (the official dinner before Obama left office). BTS are on another level!
Even though it opens up with Japanese-American DJ Steve Aoki, the song itself is owned by BTS/BigHit and from what I remember it was written by BTS Leader “RM” (comes out of ambulance) which was said to be inspired by Obama speeches when he stops talking and drops the mic. After listening to the track and loved it so much that Steve collabed with BTS to make this remix version of their original song “Mic Drop” which is in Korean and got featured in their music video. He does get credit for the remix on top of being in the MV, there’s also another remix with Desiigner voice played in the background in the intro of the MV. *This song is one of many tracks BTS has done directed at anyone who’s jealous and against their well earned success* FUN FACTS: Almost everything used is REAL except maybe the floating mics and debri after literally blowing up a car. #MicDrop #BTS
Just to let you know they are not swearing, it’s known as wordplay more or less they’re not saying the western used “N” word it only sounds like it, the “Nega” word in their language means “I” or “I'm” in Korean. Everyone who doesn’t understand a bit about the language & meanings has that reaction especially when they hear the “Nega” word; which is very commonly used allot in the Asian culture. It’s not the same as the “N” word, which allot of westerners got too comfortable hearing or saying assuming automatically when they hear it from a foreigner that’s what they mean but it has nothing to do with black people at all. *In some foreign languages, many common western used words will sound similar but have different meanings*
I don't think it's directed at jealousy is it, even if that's the underlying emotion; more directed at the haters and toxic negative people who said they couldn't make it, who have doubted or questioned their success, who have denigrated them, spread falsities/rumors etc.
Now that you've seen this, i hope you'll react to them doing this on SNL, they made history that night and at the end of Mic Drop there was a great dance break!🔥!!! And they did Amazing on Boy With Luv too, my fave performance of that as well!!

My daughter started listening to them this summer and I was able to get tickets for the concert in LA. I started listening and I really like their music. I feel bad that I am just now finding out about them.

Mic Drop was the first song I heard and it was the song that Hooked me, I love all their songs and eras but Mic Drop for me is a whole new level.

I'm mad late. Haha. But I remember loving this song when it first came out and then hearing it at every Cav's game I went to was crazy. It was one of those moments where I was proud to be a kpop fan. People around was genuinely curious like, "what's this song/I never heard this before." Haha. Another time, I went to an Indians Game (now, Guardians), and the Wonder Girls (a kpop girl group) preformed back in 2009. I was so excited I couldn't stop smiling. Plus, I recall us winning that game so, the fireworks at the end were the topper to a great day.
