Sinner gave Djokovic a taste of his own medicine by getting the ball back and making his opponent hit another shot. Sinner's got the complete package of shot making, athleticism. and composure. To show how great Sinner has become you only need to look at what he's done to Djokovic over their last 4-5 matches. He's only player on tour that has consistently beaten Djokovic over the last 2 years. If anyone thought this was luck think again. Sinner has every single attribute physically to dominate. It was only about his mind and mental fortitude that he needed to prove. Beating Djokovic soundly at his favorite grand slam was it. If healthy and focused, he has a chance to do some crazy things in this sport similar to what the big Three have done. The main advantage for Sinner is that most of his rivals are either older or just not good enough against him. He can potentially steamroll the grand slams over next 10 years and still be only 32 years old. Anything is possible and it's foolish to look too far ahead but the Sinner era is here.

Impressive how patience and calm Jannik is doing the systematic kill. Coming to this match, Novak was very nervous knowing Jannik had beaten him not one time but 3 times late last year. Novak looks lost and did not know what to do. All his arsenals being defused and back to him with the same arsenal but more potent one. Totally a systematic demolition

The commentators falling all over djokovic and giving pathetic excuses and saying "hes not even playing well enough" is downright lame. Every player plays as well as the opponent permits him to play. Credit to Sinner for blasting the djoker off the court. Gibe credit where it's due. Whenever rafa loses blame it on injury when djoker loses he is playing bad. Not an iota of appreciation for sinner. How biased and cringe worthy. Happy the drama queen lost.

What I loved is The aforementioned Nole ( the greatest returner in history) not breaking once and Sinner’s improved mental toughness esp after losing match point. Also the strategy to use shape on the ball and throw off Nole who thrives on bang bang power tennis was a smart strategy. Sinner has great reach which neutralized Nole’s angels and Nole the GOAT has to now contend with young gun Sinner after dealing with Carlos.

Djokovic got a taste of what it feels like to play against himself. Sinner playing extremely solid tennis, nothing big and crazy, just deep shots with good pace, keeping the pressure on the other side of the court and look for any opportunities to move in and attack; that being said, Djokovic had a lot of uncharacteristic unforced errors. Alcaraz really need to learn to play "boring" like Sinner and Djokovic instead of going for big shots and pleasing crowds.

I despise the commentators for being so dumbfounded by Djokovic not playing up to his level. Sinner pushed him to that point. He had an answer for everything Djokovic tried and played at a tempo that he wasn’t ready for. That’s why he was going so big or trying different things leading to the “unforced” errors. Of course players have off days and this was an off day for Djokovic but there’s someone on the other side of the court that had something to do with that

Agreed. They're so biased. When the Djoker lost, the excuses always have been, "Oh, he's not himself today, he's tired, or something of that nature." When Nadal lost, they said his style of play cannot add up. To me, when you lost, you lost and there's no excuse. Tennis, or any sports for that matter, it's about consistency, stamina, and tactics. When a person figured out his/her opponent's weaknesses, that person wins. I am a Nadal's fan, but I believe he withdrew from the AO because he doesn't want to face the Djoker, not from the injury. Nadal cannot beat the Djoker in AO because his top spins are not deep enough into the baseline. I cannot believe he or his coaching staff still cannot figure that out. If you don't hit the ball deep into the baseline corner consistently like Sinner did in this match or Alcaraz did at the Wimbledon last year, you cannot defeat the Djoker, unless it's at the French Open, where the court is slower and his opponents can retrieve his returns or counter strikes. Congrats to Sinner on this well deserved win. There's nothing off about the Djoker. You figured him out and out played him.
