On February 26, 2024 in Istanbul, Dimash Qudaibergen presented a music video for a new work “When I’ve got you”. The premiere took place as part of a press conference held by the artist in connection with his upcoming solo concert in Turkiye.
The main idea of the clip belongs to Dimash and the MV’s director Galym Asylov: “A world-famous artist, who leads a very private lifestyle, decided to give his first open interview. The young journalist chosen by him goes to the meeting in great excitement, immensely worried and tormented by the question: “What if?…”. The woman’s vivid imagination suggests a mysterious image of the main character and plunges her into a mystical story.
“Everyone knows that Dimash is a kind and simple person. Not much is known about his personal life, he does not often appear in the media space and does not give particularly personal interviews. We wanted to present the artist from a slightly different side, in a “book”, fictionalized image”, - shared the director.
Galym Assylov and Zhanibek Gusmanov - the second director of the project and line producer say that the shooting process was very interesting, it took place in Almaty. A creative team of more than 70 people worked on the clip with the involvement of specialists from China. It was there that the costume of the main character was sewn and together with Kazakhstan specialists created the whole image of the artist.
The casting was not simple enough: many actresses and models were tried for the role of the main character and other characters. Three locations were used in the clip, and the search for ancient culture was not an easy task. In a creative atmosphere, a large international team tried to create a mysterious story in every element of the interior, in every detail of the costume, in every frame.
The composition itself was written by Dimash. The author of the lyrics was Candice Kelly. The co-writer of the lyrics, co-producer, orchestrator and arranger was Dmytro Gordon.
“Working with Dimash is a dream for many, and I felt extremely honored and privileged that he has entrusted me to work on this song with him. It felt like a great responsibility, as “When I’ve Got You” was a step into a new direction for Dimash as an artist, and it was also something different for his core audience. Dimash told me that for some time, he wanted a track on the verge of blues, jazz, rock, and r&b, and my suggestion was to make it sound fresh and edgy - something raw but beautiful, something truly unexpected. That has resulted in a blend of some heavy drums, electric guitars and piano together with the orchestra, synthesizers, harmonica, and even a choir. We wanted the song to sound groovy, cinematic, epic, and bold. No holding back!,” shared Dmytro Gordon. (Dimash News)

I suggest Stranger from new wave 2021. Then Ikenaide from the Tokyo jazz festival. Olympico is amazing. Well, they ar3 all amazing. Whether it’s mv’s or live performances. I’ve been to three of his overseas concerts and am going to both his concerts in May, Budapest and Istanbul.

Dimash wrote this short movie. He was singing the operatic song on the radio. He had his hand in every aspect of yhis movie. The girl was great also.

There are many amazing music videos by Dimash and he and his team always do a fantastic job of them. The first one that I love is his original MV of 'Golden'. It's a rock song set in a dystopian future and he's a sci-fi freedom fighter. Another favourite of mine is 'Okey' - a beautiful song but the film itself does not match what you are hearing....it's a clever juxtaposition. 'Be With Me' is a fun MV - a bit 007 with an MJ flavour. The theme song 'Across Endless Dimensions' is a taster for the sci-fi film The Creators:The Past (an Italian film) and is simply magnificent with Dimash singing. He did not create that one himself but it's really unmissable. If you watch it, it's the one with him in the white jacket with black branches on it.
I would work up to The Story Of One Sky if I were you. It's a bit early in your journey and it's not entertainment as such. It's beautiful but it's brutal, and it hurts. Just have some fun first 🥰❤❤

You began with early, & went directly to latest. Now you've heard/seen, Dimash's vocals, acting, composing, writing, video conception, & producing. He & his family own Dimashali, their production company which does most of Dimash's work.
He sings in more than a dozen languages, speaks 3, plays several instruments, dances, & has a wicked sense of humour.
He's kind, well mannered, soft spoken, respectful off stage, & denies being a ''star''....he said stars are in the sky, he's just a human. Then he explodes on stage where his mum says she doesn't even recognize the funny/silly Dimash he is at home. Yes, he lives with his parents, & whole family.....Kazakh traditional family life, all living together in a large home.
Now i will explore his music in between. Looking forward to it.

He writes, composes, dances, plays instruments, & has several university degrees in musicology. All of Dimash's mv are like mini movies & Dimash always has loads of input with them.
He refuses to sign his life (or more particularly, his artistry) away. He says he doesn't want to be told what to sing or wear or say & I don't blame him. How many times have we heard about bad record deals and/or management? He has a worldwide following & regularly sells out arenas all over the world.
He is a phenomenonal talent & this song & mv is just amazing! He is so capable of singing all genres & in so many ranges, it's just still unbelievable after all this time.

👍👍 Dimash is enigmatic, he likes symbolism. Since the release of this MV, I have been searching, and am not the only one, for the meaning of this “mysterious video”. There is virtuosity, instrumental and musical quality but there is everything else and I am looking for it. You will discover, perhaps, a triptych of highly symbolic songs, such as "Stranger", "Fly away" and "Ave Maria", (in that order). But I also recommend the live performance of “Story of One Sky” from the Almaty concert, in 09/2022. Phenomenal! the composition is the work of Dimash, the theme, the messages as well. Wow way to buy a book, read the Introduction and jump to the final chapter (mind you it's a series of books and this is only the first one) loved your reaction. I know that others will give you a ton of information on Dimash, but no matter what you pick to listen to there are no bad songs, no bad performances, some you might like more, some less but the journey is always surprising and delightful and the more you see the more you are intrigued by who is this person and how can he do what he is doing and then you are in the rabbit hole and that's where you'll find the rest of us hanging out... so hope to see you there. 😃

Try to go from the oldest to the new ones. Dimash has develop his craft and it's really entertaining to witness his journey... Always changing, always improving, always exceeding himself. In terms of music videos I love Know, Love of Tired Swans, Screaming (though live version also good and different), Be With Me is a humorous MJ/James Bond style but the masterpiece is definitely the short film length The Story of One Sky - which is also amazing live but you get the whole story he designed as well as amazing acting in the MV version. Enjoy your journey, of course he has many more songs performed live or on shows as well that are fantastic such as Daybreak from the Bastau concert and all the songs composed by Igor Krutoy (as well as above there is Olympico, Ave Maria, Stranger, Love is Like a Dream to name a few) - subscribing to watch.😮
