It was good to see you Roger it was a great event. Loved your photos and thank you for the mention take care PS did not realise you got me at the slip way 😂
I can definitely relate to being questioned when doing street photography. I went out a few days ago and many people asked what I was doing and why and that can be a big distraction.
Your gettup is completely different from mine. I usually carry two Canon EOS-1n RS bodies around, both equipped with a magic drainpipe. One loaded with colour, the other with BW. Tomorrow being another one such a day, as a fresh batch of students start their studies here in the NL (I'm a Uni teacher). I love how there are camera's for every type of person in the analogue community.
Loved the video! I was struck by the people smiling. Seems ages since I saw people smiling. It seemed like a perfect situation for taking street photos. Your results are fantastic and I could see them in a classic photo magazine like "Look" or "Life" from the 1960s. I was transported by this video. Many thanks!
Banging shots man! Pop the Fujica Compact Deluxe on your rangefinder list - superior 1-handed shooting due to having a focus wheel on the back, mechanical shutter but with shutter AE, AND a modern battery😊 It's a rare beastie, but worth looking for.
Made my very first steps in photography with a Voigtländer Vito B and a Rollei 35 (made in Germany), cause both parents were working at Rollei (Franke&Heidecke) in Braunschweig Germany. It was just before Singapore times. I love the tiny compact Rollei 35
Heh, I just shot a roll of Fomapan 200 last night trying to do some slow shutter motion blur shots. Unfortunately the negative slipped out of the clip and fell on the dusty floor when it was drying. I think this stuff is slipperier when wet than other films.
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss It helped a little but I think I waited too long and dust really embedded itself. Live and learn. I'm not heart broken since it was an experimental roll so I'm glad to have learned my lessons on that. Still recovered one exposure that I like and will keep, just maybe not print.
What a great video! Loved the pictures too. You'd think that you'd photograph the pride event in color but the pictures looked so good in black and white. I have to try that. It made me feel so good seeing people so happy. Good times. Groovy.
Thanks. For me it was a no brainer to shoot black and white, not only because I like BW but also we only ever see those events in colour (rightly so maybe!).
My two favorite communities cross paths! I shot some at last year's Pride here. It was my first time going after coming out. Also very cool to see Katharine, always see her in the comments.
"I like shooting with this camer, and I like shooting with this other camera, I guess I just like shooting with cameras" Amen 😊 Like like everybody was having a great time. Good video, Boss!
Great video Roger! You gave me a bit of motivation to take my MP out and burn through some film! Really you should take you photos and put them in a book or two. It will give your heirs a keepsake's of their grandfather.
I have the same dilemma with Fomapan 200: It is either impressive or very average. I am enjoying your series and may it'll encourage me to get some more. I do like it better in medium format, but have been struggling with spots on 120 negs.
I purchased a Rollei 35 LED a month ago off EBay from a camera shop in England based on your review and I love it. I’ve since purchased a Keks cold shoe light meter to snap on. The great thing about the Keks is that you can reverse the LED readout since the Rollei shoe is upside down. Shout out to Mrs. SFLAB who was delightful as always.
Great video, it looks like people were having a good time 😅. I typically only shoot black and white but a rule of color might have been nice? 😊 I actually just shot my first roll of Fuji 200 in decades. It was from 2014 and the colors were so different and cool. Keep up the great work mate.
Since that video I have been very careful with the foam handling the film! I think it was either the cassette or when I pulled the entire roll of film through the film holder scanning
Great fun. The Leica is a beast compared to the Rollei. Love how the Foma 200 came out. I took my Mamiya C3 to Kendal Calling this year. Great camera, great conversation piece and bloody heavy.
Shooting a colorful pride parade in B&W sounds (and looks) a bit strange. The FP200 worked better than I would've thought (tried FP400 in 4x5, and some FP100 - wasn't convinced, not even by the price ;-)).
It was a good day Scott. Local charities being supported too. No different to any other event with live bands and music and beer tents expect people can express themselves more free.
I was at a 'Historic Environment Scotland' talk last night about photography. They were saying please don't leave your catalogue of photo's to your family, they get misplaced, split up and eventually the context of the photo's is lost. Find a local Archive (Museum) that's willing to accept them. Let your family know exactly where you want the photo's to go to and write it into a will. This also goes for your photo's on Cloud etc, make sure your password is available to someone so they can be accessed if you're no longer around. Your family can then get access but the history (and you're really recording history) doesn't end up in a damp garage somewhere or on a corroding hard-drive. Over time and as technology improves, the digitalisation and access for the public increases. I'm ignoring the elephant in the room of there may be images you don't want accessible after you pop your clogs 😁
Have you ever done or thought about doing a book, even one copy for yourself ? I've done two already and have enough material to do two more. The photos may be rubbish but it's my rubbish ! 📷😂👍 Ps aa great days shooting 📷👍 .
That is what I linke! Happy People, two film cameras, some rolls of film. Fine photographs- thank you
Can't tell you how nice it is to see that the comments aren't full of bigots. Your community rocks.
There's always one or two that I care less for but yeah 99.9% are awesome. Cheers!
It was good to see you Roger it was a great event. Loved your photos and thank you for the mention take care PS did not realise you got me at the slip way 😂
I followed you on ! ha ha
I can definitely relate to being questioned when doing street photography. I went out a few days ago and many people asked what I was doing and why and that can be a big distraction.
Good to see you supporting Pride. I have a few times been the photographer for my work during pride events. I shot both film & digital in those ones.

I had one camera in my waist bag and just switched. Good luck with your new students!
Always love seeing black and white for these events that are so full of colour.

Thanks for the link to Katherine Overton's channel. I've been looking for a disabled friendly photo channel for ages.
Have you tried chest and/or hot shoe mount for your gopro? Shooting one handed sounds tricky.
I actually looked at one the other day Janne! Chest mount that is! I have a hotshoe mount for it. :)

I can imagine your parents got a good deal on the cameras!

Never had that sort of problem with Foma films. You can wash it again and hopefully get rid of the dust :)
Hope they were okay after washing again!

That's the plan Rich!

I do like it better in medium format, but have been struggling with spots on 120 negs.
I wouldn't get it in 120 for the imperfections I have seen so many times with Foma 120. It handled well for me at this event though!
I had the Rollei XF 35, very sharp. I gave it to my niece

Yes it can be Rick. I usually compliment someone if I take their photo on the street. Hey mate love that Hat! Click! Worked for me (Sometimes).
Nice one mate! I have a Leica MP and a Rollei 35S so I can really relate to this. Cheers!
nice photos and happy folk as well
Looks like that shoot was a blast! Did you ever figure out the scratch and debris problem from one of your recent videos?
Since that video I have been very careful with the foam handling the film! I think it was either the cassette or when I pulled the entire roll of film through the film holder scanning
I like Foma 200 for street and general shooting!!! I always find it hard to photograph parades because of the high contrast lighting!!!
great shots Roger. I often carry a Oly Pen EED 1/2 frame as a second camera cause their so small, light easy to use and good fun.
Great bunch of photos!!!! Love what you do!
Thanks so much Anna
Very nice. How do you scan your negatives?
I use a DSLR, macro lens and the Valoi 360 advance.
This is what photography is all about.. i like landscapes, but like people and smiles more. Good on ya mate! Question: D23 vs D76.. thoughts?
I have both and to be honest I have not noticed a great difference except D23 I find to be less grainy. D23 is only two chemicals. Easy to make.
Thanks a lot. A fun day. It surprises me that you had a 50 on the Leica. Sure, better portraits, but I would have brought a 35.
Don't have a 35 in any of my kit.
Loved the Dog picture and the one with the Queen as well. 🍻
The Queen stood out a mile all day
Great fun. The Leica is a beast compared to the Rollei. Love how the Foma 200 came out.
I took my Mamiya C3 to Kendal Calling this year. Great camera, great conversation piece and bloody heavy.
The old classics are a good conversation maker. Nice.
Roger, this was fabulous! Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it Dan
Cracking day out mate 👍🏼
Yes it was
Awesome video dude, as always. Dannng man, your street photography is amazing! Keep up the hardwork!
Thanks! Will do!
There is so much positive energy captured in your images. A great day and happy photography. Love this video!
Thank you so much!

Trust me it was on my mind about colour!
Good results, and some real photographs.
Cheers Lensman
Make me wish I had gone to our local pride event!
It was a good day Scott. Local charities being supported too. No different to any other event with live bands and music and beer tents expect people can express themselves more free.
Loved it m8 🙂
Cheers bud!
..I have not used Fomapan ..yet
Try some Nick. It's a good price here.
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss ..will give it a go. .(thinking ..a low contrast developer )
Nice event coverage 📸 but I couldn't help but smile at the choice of film for the 🌈 pride day 😜😂
Great work as usual Roger 👍🏻
I woulda taken a roll of Kentmere 400 - it's packaged in the bi colors!
Sounds a plan!

Good point! Unless like Brian Duffy's son that took his collection and now sells the prints. I'll have to teach Jess how to print! LOL
That does sort of mean you've got to be dead famous, before you're ..... dead ! @@ShootFilmLikeaBoss
Did I hear you say you 'were left mincing around snapping the event..'? 😮
LOL no

I have Eltin. It's a project I have had on the go for years listing certain prints! None in a book yet though!
Buon lavoro
Grazie
So much fun, pride and beautiful people. Lovely!
Also for Foma 200, Atomal 49 is quite nice, too 😊
I know what you mean about losing the wife, trouble is my one keeps coming back 😂😂😂
Lol😂 that has to be one of the worst events I’ve ever seen, with sparseness in the procession lol😂u were hoping
Welcome to the Isle of Wight! lol, Actually it was good fun
That sure is a contrasty film.
It's not so contrasty. I boost a bit of contrast in my images scanned or in the darkroom
