    Didn’t think to put a light bar in the back of the van. Great idea 💡 that I will use

    While way too late to make a difference on my comment, I saw one van build where video security cameras were mounted underneath the rear view mirrors (aimed backwards). The builder also installed a 3rd camera into the same housing as the van's backup camera. But hey, I haven't built my own van yet so I'm just sitting hear in the peanut gallery (and really enjoying your videos).

    Can you share info on your camera system? What cameras and monitor did you use? What switches, cables, etc.
    I am interested in installing cameras on my van so that I can see what is happening outside when I am in the van forward to hearing from you!

      Dimity Long exactly right!! It has been a while and that is our #1 video by a long shot!! This van has currently taken over my life but It is a short term sacrifice for a long term goal, if it goes as planned we will have all the time in the world to play some more gold hunts!!

    Great video. I'm getting one of these to work underground in the mines and was looking for ideas on light bars so I can see. I subscribed

    Isn't 40 amp to little for 2 long light bars and 2 spots? 40 amp is for one lightbar. i thing you need at least 100 amp relay. Arent you afraid of rust and water inside your van? When you are in ice cold temperature. The screw will be ice cold inside your van will be warm. the the screw will condensate and drip water. I'm not sure the English word. But you need to have a barrier to privent cold to go straight into your van.
    I love your build and videos!! Just a tip/question. You have always tought about privent rust. But you scrw treu your van will bring the cold in to the hot inside... need Thermo barrier.

    Are the cameras worth the jerry rigging and extra holes in the van?

    Could these types of lights also be hooked up to a 12v fusebox that is powered off of a 500Ah lithium ion battery bank?

  • @stevehori673
    @stevehori673 3 года назад

    Question Jeff, did you disconnect the battery before hooking up the positive side?

    • @DaresDrives
      @DaresDrives  3 года назад +1

      Yes I did, actually had the battery completely out of the van and only hooked it up to test!

    I think that is the most horrible idea to install eniting on roof with so many holes drilled.

    • @DaresDrives
      @DaresDrives  4 года назад +1

      I appreciate your input, I believe you should limit holes in roof as much as possible but as long as you seal it properly with good sealants it is not an issue.

      Why didn't you go with rivnuts for the mounting? Wouldn't have to have pulled the shelve and headliner.
