Disney Dreamlight Valley - Dress Design Tutorial & Customization Tips For New Players

- Hey guys! This is my first tutorial video ever so bare with me, sorry for the terrible voice over, my editing skills are minimal.
For the beginning of this video I'll be showing you how to access the customization menu, going through all of the design tools and showing you how to use them.
Then I move on to show you exactly how to make the dress in the thumbnail step by step. If you don't need to know the basics and just want to make the dress, skip to about 3:30.
I absolutely love Disney Dreamlight Valley and have been spending a lot of time customizing dresses (since we all know how stingy Scrooge is with his prices!) So I thought I'd share some of the techniques I've picked up along the way and help others get the most out of creating their own clothes.

Clear concise instructions, no superfluous waffle and straight to the point. A great tutorial and Im only sorry you haven’t done more of them. Really you have a great delivery and your designs are gorgeous. Hope you do more for Dreamlight in the future.

Wow, your dresses look amazing, I didn't realize how in-depth you could get when using the design tool.
I was so pleased with my "slap Eva on a sweatshirt" because I couldn't figure out how to use the gradients, this video is inspiring!

It must be the difference in consoles, I had a few others ask me that on my post but I never add anything to make them sparkly, they just look like that, especially in the light. Sorry :( but thanks for your support! Glad I could help a bit 🤗

I have been loving designing clothing items in this game, especially the Minnie ears, but I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what the cut tool did or what the parallel arrow tool did. Just the other day I was searching the internet trying to find a guide that explained them, but I wasn’t able to find anything, as every other tutorial never even attempted to. This was the exact kind of video tutorial I was looking for, and fortunately it just happened to show up in me feed. Thank you again! Your pieces are absolutely stunning, and you did a fantastic job explaining everything. Best tutorial I’ve seen by FAR (and I watched pretty much all of them several days ago, before this was posted). You should totally consider making more! 😊🌻

Omg thank you for this! I was going insane trying to figure out how to make a smooth gradient on my dresses
Gradients are the worst haha, even for me. Sometimes I'll want them a certain way that leaves gaps or overlaps so if that happens I just try to add designs around those parts. I hope they add some circular gradient motifs eventually.

thanks for explaining this. I play on PC off of Steam. I thought that was how the tools and layers should work the way you have explained. I now know that my game is bugged. I cannot drag layers or rotate layers. Thank you!!! Hopefully one day we can share codes of your designs like in animal crossing and everyone can wear your beautiful designs. 🥰😍

This is mind-blowing. You're very talented. I tried to create a custom item in the Avatar Designer Tool and realized I couldn't do anything remotely decent. I haven't tried since then, and I'm at a max level already. I'll try to recreate your dress. Please make more outfit tutorials.

OMG I didn't think they would bring this customization to a new level. This is some of the stuff that I always wish was on other games. I hope Hogwarts Legacy clothes have the same options when designing them.
