I usually don’t comment on video, but I want to thank you so much, your music and this particular one save my life. I’ve been battling depression and anxiety, two days ago I no longer could thought the pain would of stop if I ended all, I pray to God and asked him to give me strength so I can go throw it, didn’t want to leave my family behind and my children growing up without a mother cause I know how hard it is since I grow up without. So I pray to God and than turn on the radio to k-love and this song came on, I started listening to the lyrics and sang it, it gave me the strength to not end it. So thank you Matthew west.
So glad you were able to see that suicide is not the answer. Praying for you that you continue to stay strong. Lean into God - He will never leave you!

You're worth it and so special to God! Ending your life is NOT the answer. I lost my brother to suicide 2 years ago. It's NOT easy, sometimes every day. I love you in Christ. Your life is a gift from God He doesnt want you to do that. There is so much for you in HIM not even in this world or family. Over all His joy, love, leave and all the fruits of the Spirit. Even if it gets hard. Phil 4:13. Believe me, He will get you thru it if you don't give up or in. And if you do that where would your soul go if you end it? Not to heaven. Matthew if you see this I want you to know that this is one of the most encouraging song I've heard in a long time
This song was so uplifting while I was recovering from a chainsaw accident. I was 16 when I sawed my foot on September 1st of 2020. Sawed half way through the bone for my big toe and sawed the big toes tendon completely. It may not sound to crazy but I almost had to have my foot amputated. I found this song about a week after my accident and it felt like a true blessing from the lord. I didn't know if I was going to be able to walk again and this song really helped me get through those tuff times. I had so may what ifs and worrys and this song really helped me realize that it wasn't to late and my life wasn't over even though it felt like it. Thanks to the Lord and so many people praying for me I am now walking again and even running, it feels AMAZING.

@@Chubbymalo Agreed! Loving your family to appease God, not to appease them or yourself. Family foundations are very important. If everyone in the family keeps God in the middle, that family will be alright. But if someone is lacking God as their focal point, little problems become big problems. My pastor just did a series on what the Biblical image of a family looks like. God in the center of it.

I can't even imagine what it must feel like to hear your song playing on the radio and being able to belt out the lyrics with it. Just because the writing of the song is over, doesn't mean the song is done writing in us. God speaks to us in multiple forms and Matthew West's music is no exception 😁

This song reminds me of when my future wife and I were in counseling to talk about stuff prior to marrying each other. I had said to the Pastor, "I don't know if I will be able to handle it if she dies before me." The Pastor stopped me cold in my tracks and talked about the importance of living for the sure thing and not living my life based on the "what if's." At that point I figured that I wasn't going to NOT do something based on what MIGHT NEVER happen and even IF it were to happen, God would still be with us just as He was sitting with us in that little church office that day, 26 years ago.

also..FORGIVENESS is not a simple thing you just go and do... I struggled myself for years with forgiveness because I thought that since I said I forgave and tried to mean it then it was a done deal... not so simple... bitterness will always creep on in... but omg when I finally understood forgiveness the way Jesus shows us it was so freeing and like a weight was lifted from my heart... I recommend you listen to Matthew West's song Forgiveness but also please find the interview of why he wrote the song and the woman who inspired the lyrics... it blew my mind and the story is so beautiful... This song is right on. I just turned 49 and I kept on thinking what IF for so many things I should have, could have and would have done but didn't. I want this year to be lived without regrets. Just to live with what I have and see it as a blessing.

I just heard this song on the radio and thank you!! It hit home and I cried.....a good cry, that I needed. The past 6 months have been soo rough, that I have seriously considered giving up my kids. I have been fighting my ex-husband for 4 years and I won full custody of my children this February!! 4 years of separation, then divorce, fighting for custody, then tragedy, then the victory of full custody!! ❤❤ But I've done this all alone....no partner by my side. I did have a wonderful best friend, my Soul Sister ,April, that stood by my side for 2 and a half years of the fight. Tragically , she died in my arms August 5th and I have been fighting the loneliness that had engulfed me 😔 I am doing better no, with a Therapist that has Christian values and faith. It's is a long road and I will make it!!

As a married man, I always saw this song as a rebuke like that in 1 Cirinthians 7:32-35 - that too much of my focus I'd on earthly matters and not enough on the Lord. I really enjoy the song, and the encouragement to live my life more fully for the Lord. Love my family well, yes, but ensure that my family and I focus on the things of ETERNAL value: spreading the gospel, living simply, loving all well, give what I owe to everyone (respect, compassion, and comfort), and living at peace with all as far as it depends on us.
Then I saw this video. Matthew West and I had VERY different interpretations of his song. Wow. In a bad way.

My husband died unexpectedly few months ago at the age of 37. You never know when you'll take your last breath. Live every day to the fullest. Thankfully, he was a family man who put his family first and while we never went skydiving lol, we would have fun family days like this. And that is what our kids will remember about their dad.
