I live in Burlington Vermont. Today I was doing a Door Dash delivery to a house behind a construction zone. I parked well outside of the zone, nevertheless a sheriff stationed at the zone told me to move my car or receive a parking ticket. I felt I was not parked illegally, so I politely told him I would take the ticket and fight it in court. This made him angry and he demanded to see my ID. I told him I refuse to give him my ID because I had not committed a crime. He backed down. Thanks for giving me the confidence to speak up to tyrants.

No one mentions about his private property but him, then the old fart makes threats like he can last more than 5 seconds in a physical tussle. Some of these public servants are so sensitive that it’s difficult not to laugh and shame them when they produce these kinds of interactions.

I live in a small town in S. Dakota & our city council is no different. These people all think that they are running some sort of Star Chamber and are immune & exempt from all public scrutiny. It's funny because we have a city manager that runs the day to day stuff but the Mayor runs the city council meetings. He's nothing but an empty suit than presides over a group of other empty suits 3 days a month. We call them the Rubber Stamp Tramps because whatever the local bigwigs want the Tramps readily approve it no questions asked & no discussion allowed.
I grew up in South Dakota. It took me thirty years to discover that all towns in South Dakota are small towns.

That building is in dire disrepair. Ceiling tiles are dirty, warped, and missing with possible mold. Paint is peeling, windows are dirty, and God only knows the last time they cleaned the air handlers and put in new filters. I would venture a guess that the employees have a high absentee rate due to illness.
It is an old school in a town that is dying. No reason to spend taxpayer funds for the dead and dying.

I think here in Canada we might be confused about what's happening there around these audits because for years we've been watching American TV shows like COPS, Parking Wars, Border Patrol, and now channels full of American police body cam footage videos are everywhere. On those programs lots and lots and lots of people are shown on the cameras who's privacy wasn't a concern for any of the producers or any of the police or other public servants involved. That one show COPS dates all the way back to the late 80's. Now can you see how it gets confusing for those of us outside of the US who've been watching your reality TV for years now. Seems like two whole different worlds happening there. Thanks for exposing it all Press. Be safe out there. Seems like there's still lots of the 'good ole boys' hanging around.

Those first two suspicious old men set the wrong tone for your visit to Baldwin Town Office by answering your simple questions evasively. Then, Don kept appearing, rude and threatening. Some of the people you encountered in this office were very courteous, but some were inexcusably hostile.

All public employees and all law enforcement employees should be required to take continuing education classes on local and Constitutional law. Period.
