I love how the great prince warms up to his son from not wanting to raise him at first to growing to love him and eventually accepting him for the type of deer he is he only pushed him away because he reminded the great prince so much of Bambi’s mother who he missed and was still heartbroken over and grieving for and you can see all throughout the movie how much the great prince struggles with his love and Bambi’s mothers death by being sad and grieving but Bambi helps the great prince get over that as they become closer and in the end he’s able to talk about Bambi’s mother and how they met and open up and share a few things without feeling sad or telling his son to leave things in the past not wanting to forget but wanting to remember her and wanting his son to know about them when they are fawns like he was ❤
