While I slightly understand your sentiment that he currently is a legend (by modern standards I agree), I feel for a artist to become legendary they have to have some sort of shelf life (I'm not saying that Stapleton doesn't have shelf life, I'm just saying that he hasn't stood the test of time yet [even though I'm sure he will]), and what I'm saying with my statement above is that I believe in probably the next few years he'll be widely received as a country legend (at least if he continues at the pace he's going with the same level of quality that he's shown on records like his most recent).

I love Chris but he was a bit weak in concert. I saw him in July 2019 at Bethel Woods, which was the site of the original Woodstock. I think he was missing his wife, who was home with their kids including a newborn. He's incredible when she's close by.

If you count the riff 3x, it's the 4th riff that does it for me. Basically the follow up. Such a top performance. That burnt tinged voice soothed with many years of fine whiskey and emoting through guitar and voice. Sooo good. Listened to it many times. this live version is better than his studio version.mmmmm...mmmm.
