Are you still using and liking the seat risers? I just installed mine today on my driver's seat. I haven't done a long trip yet, but it seems like an improvement.
You can make it up that hill. I did it in my Ranger tremor on 33” k03. You want 4Low, rear locked, Baja (or sand mode in my case) with traction control completely disabled and in sport mode to manually shift down when it starts to bog (when you stopped) if you manually shift down there you’ll make it up. I was also running 12psi you guys look to be at 20 or above
Yeah we probably could have made it with a few different attempts by airing down some more and like you said being in manual mode but it was a just more fun type of thing. Yeah we were sitting around 18 psi.
Fun episode! You stayed at one of my favorite campsites in all of southern UT where the tour group showed up. I have personally never seen another soul in that spot the times I have stayed out there, but I'm sure it happens. I have filmed out there as well, but I didn't share the location. If I see people out there next time I go I'm blaming you, lol.
Barracks trail is a super fun trail. We did it in a stock Toyota Tacoma a few years ago right after a major flood. It made the first creek crossing at the bottom of the sandhill super difficult - it looks way better now!
Such great content! I have the 2024 Colorado, ZR2 and I have yet to take it off road and four-wheel-drive it but I sure want to. Those people sure were odd.
@@monocogenit1 optical illusion. It’s actually the cab moving around more. The bed does bounce but not as bad as the cab. New body mounts being installed soon 👍🏻
@ I’ve relocated the shocks outboard and reinforced the frame. I also have custom tuned Kings. My body mounts however.. are old and cracked. Only thing left is to tube the frame but i just haven’t got there yet. Next video will have new body mounts and it’ll still move but it’s more cab than bed.
Yes it's the same hill, just much older and icy conditions for us. They also took the much easier path up which is the right side. We were trying to go up the left side. 😅
I’ve had people (mainly photographers) drive right up into my campsite and unload all the gear and start taking pictures feet from me and my truck without asking or anything. Even with there being a million different places to take the same picture. Extremely rude and borderline confrontational
We might be going, undecided yet. The only thing is the stampede this year is geared at easy more scenic trails, so not a lot of fun and challenging obstacles which we love doing. We may poke in for a day or two then find some nearby more challenging trails 🤔
@@outlandishoverland the way we plan it it’s more for the entry level driver. We don’t want to make the newbies uncomfortable. There’s always a group that breaks off to do hard trails after the trail riding. We might even take the HD bison up to Moab to do baby lions back and fins.
People don't consider others much when they're used to being packed in like sardines. The guide should have redirected them to a better view point. I thought they were in a rental jeep, didnt realize they were on a tour. Was still a beautiful view, glad you were able to share this video.
If there is one thing I learned about tourists especially being from Santa Fe New Mexico where 18/20 people you see downtown/on the plaza are not from here is that they think bexause they are on a tour/vacation they don’t care about your personal space bexause they feel entitled like “oh I’m on a tour so I can do whatever I want” type stuff it’s hard to explain but you really pick up on they’re vibe of entitledness if that makes sense. I dont know, those people in the video bugged me pretty bad bexause of how tourist are where I’m from. Sorry to go on a rant but it pissed me off😂
Nice vid, as always! I've seen a bunch of very experienced people try to go up that hill, and maybe 1 or 2 actually made it. It seemed you actually had better conditions than most of them, as the water content and the fact that it might have been partially frozen helped, whereas they tried it in summer and they just dug in immediately. Cool that you tried it though, looked sketchy!
Thanks! Definitely had better conditions than the summer for sure but with our heavier rigs it was definitely a challenge. We probably could have done it if we aired down and have it a few more tries. I know most people go up the right way of the hill which is easier in which we were doing the more difficult line on the left hand side. Still fun!
@@outlandishoverland Best not to destroy your nice rig for internet glory, and live to overland another day! I think I'll be ordering the Bison jounce damper kit this next week (got 1 12%/$336 off coupon from the dealer I bought it from!), as soon as I 100% verify that it'll fit without any other parts needed. While they've got everything torn apart I'll probably install a 1" or 2" lift on both ends to fit 35X11.5 (OEM width to prevent rubbing) on the OEM rims. All the people I see with rubbing issues seem to have gone with wider tires and more outboard offset. Overland safe and enjoy the ride, my good man!
That hill actually looks really steep on camera! Great vid
Thank you 🙌🏽

I am and absolutely love them. Each long trip I appreciate them more and more. If I had to buy them again, I would with question.

Awesome guys!! Looks like you are putting those ZR2’s through some paces. 👍🏼👊🔥
Yes we are!

I mean I didn't share the exact location you would still need to find it. 😬 Seems like it's a spot that's used a lot by that tour company at least.
@@outlandishoverland It is a great spot! And clean too all the times I have been to it.

You should definitely get out there and off-road it and yes, yes they were. 😂
Same here, same truck love it.
LFG! Fantastic trip to end the year.
Yes it was! Awesome trip
You’re lucky to have been there when the sand is wet like that. It’s much tougher in the summer. 😊
I'm sure it is! We probably could have made it putting it in manual so the truck didn't upshift and air down more but it was more for fun
Nice trip. Great filming!
Thank you!
ZR2 are hands down the most capable midsize on the trail these days.
They truly are. I feel like most people don't appreciate them
Love this
Thanks!
Great video, and thanks for sharing what trails and the latitude and longitude to find them. It really helps if I get in those areas.
Yeah of course! I try to do that in almost all my videos so people can go out and explore the areas themselves!
29:59 see how much the chassis is flexing? The bed and cab about to touch

I wanna see some Bison Stampede content 😉
Maybe 🤔 It's on the radar for us to potentially show up

Just turning on the fogs when the sun is up.

im glad he is ok did look good on hes last video on his channel

Yes

Well you know they paid for that perch...............some people don't get the idea of personal space.
Thanks. Oh they definitely did not understand personal space. There were plenty of lookouts on that exact cliff that wasn't on top of us. 😅

City folk dont have manners when it comes to personal space. A million acres and they want to stand next to you.
I wouldn't necessarily blame the tourists as some of them don't know any better. I blame the tour guide in that situation.
