Neil de Beer, ek is volgende jaar 60 jaar oud. In die deskrimasie era was my ouers sekerlik een van baie ouers wat hul kinders opgebring het buite die politiek. Ons het nooit gehoor wat in ons land aan die gang was. Die eerste en enigste wat ons wel gehoor het was toe daar net op 'n dag, 'n sirene af gegaan het. My ouers was so goed en het gesê dit was om vir ons te sê dit is nou ses uur en kinders moet in die bed wees. Toe ek ouer word was dit reg gestel, dit was om die nie-blanke uit die dorp te hou en na ses sal hul toegesluit word. Ek het in teen deel met 'n thabies en thabiele gespeel en baie by hul ma pak gekry. Ons het nooi die velkleur raak gesien nie. Self toe ek al 'n vrou van in my laat veertigs was my vriende nie-blanke vroue. Ek was by hulle grafnisse en tot vandag mis ek hulle baie. Ek kyk nooit neer teenoor ander nie.Jy praat van die regering wat juis teen diskriminasie is. Verduidelik vir my dan wat gebeur dan nou teen ons blankes.
