  • I forgot to divide the AC base resistance by beta in the typeset version of the unbypassed voltage gain equation. The hand-written derivation is correct though. I posted the corrected version separately and fixed the mistake in the title screen. Sorry about that!
    In this video we derive the gain and AC load line analysis equations for the common base amplifier. The common base configuration has the best high frequency response of the three amplifier configurations and is used mainly in RF applications. But the common base configuration appears naturally in the analysis of the differential pair or differential amplifier and so is an important topology to understand for future videos.
