I think this project should be revisited and filmed when the gardens are more mature and lush. As mentioned throughout the video the several pocket gardens have a connection to the interior, however at the moment a lack of shadows and foliage is very notable
I have always thought that the main selling point of using an Architect is their expertise in managing light. This wonderful home shows that off perfectly thanks to the generous free will of the clients.
Thanks to Google Maps, the address is 15 Deakin Street Malvern East if anyone is wondering. Bought for AUD1.93mln in 2019 and was already renovated although this takes it to a new level and is much better. Would be interesting to see what the valuation is with the new extension!
Would be nice to experience the flow of the house from arriving curbside, then walking through, as someone might do living there, or visiting .. Its livability vs just the aesethetic ..
I just imagine having on of the houses I see in this channel, in Alentejo (Portugal)...I just imagine, cause I dont know if I haver got the money to do it...but I will remember some idea when I have my little shack in Alentejo...
the paradox of architecture is to impose itself over the use/purpose and comfort of its creations, and knowing where and when, remember why it exists... its for the humans within, not for the eyes passing by...

A chi piace un classico terrace vittoriano in un contesto ambientale del medesimo tipo, non puo' stravolgerne la struttura che costava meno in un altro contesto.
