- My old circular router jig had the disadvantage that you had to screw it on and therefore you could not change the router without problems. It also had too many holes, which were both unnecessary and confusing.
That's why I built this new circular router jig. It is rotatable and can easily be swivelled to the side. Thus a cutter change is no problem and also the fence can be installed without problems. The production of this circular milling device is extremely simple and takes only a few minutes. The costs are in the cent range.

Very clever design! I made a swivel fence for my router table, but never thought of using a swivel base for circles. Simple and effective. I like it.

Ich fühle mich an Deine Vorrichtung für den Bandschleifer erinnert. Die war für mich die Inspiration ebenfalls solch eine Vorrichtung für den Frästisch zu machen als ich mal präzise Kreise anfertigen müsste.
Stimmt das ist schon sehr ähnlich. Der Hauptgrund hierfür war jedoch, dass ich so leichter den Fräser wechseln kann. LG

Another bit of engineering genius! Very enjoyable vid and interesting idea. Generally the process is quite clear but more time and detail spent on the pivot might have helped. Actually I still feel that the first jig is better - I guess time will tell. Thanks mate!

Gerade sind wir das erst Mal auf deinem Kanal gelandet und müssen echt staunen! Dein Kanaltrailer ist der Hammer! 👍
Was uns aber zu deiner Vorrichtung in diesem Video aufgefallen ist, dass immer ein Mittelloch benötigt wird, um dessen Punkt die Außenkontur kreist. Ohne Mittelloch ist man wohl wirklich gezwungen eine Drehmaschine zu verwenden. Aber auch dieses Loch lässt sich sicherlich mit einem Dübel stopfen, sofern es einen wirklich stört. Denn meist sind Vorrichtung eher auf Funktion und nicht auf Aussehen bedacht.

Moin. Ich finde es immer wieder erstaunlich, wie Du Werkzeuge herstellst, die ich noch nicht einmal kannte und das dann noch mit Werkzeugen, die ich zum Teil noch nie in der Hand hatte ^^ Was ich shconmal fragen wollte...ist die Werkstatt aus einem Hobby heraus entstanden oder heauptberuflich? Ich hoffe letzteres... sollte das wirklich "nur" Hobby sein, dann zünde ich unseren Werkzeugschuppen im Garten an. xD Einen schönen 1.Advent Dir. ❤️Carpe

Do not do this. I am sitting in ER having attempted a similar approach. The router can grab the circle you have cut and act as a gear wheel pulling your finger into the blade. The concept is fundamentally broken.
