Thank you 😊 it’s a pretty good fossil spot. I’ve been wanting to check it out for a while now. Wait till you see what Jeff’s getting today!!! I’m gonna help him move it… very exciting! Folks are going to be jealous lol
I don’t know that I found the exact spot you were at, but I found some cool stuff on my way through from Illinois today! Some fossils, some cool crystals…. Thanks for sharing the info about this road!
Yes! I was really amazed by how lifelike they still were. Like I was picking them up off the beach! Too bad most of the trilobite fossils there are incomplete but I did find a tiny enrolled one. I’m sure there’s something amazing hidden in the rocks there. I’m sure I’ll be back in the future
Oh and you HAVE to see the stromatolite fossils in Cathedral cave! I went there yesterday and it’s AMAZING! Hopefully the video turns out ok filming and pictures were very difficult
the thing I first notice is that road has a HUGE amount of traffic on it for a lettered highway. Around here, that's numbered highway level of traffic.
That place is just mind blowing the amount of fossils that make up the rock there, I still prefer Grafton for my trilobites but for the amount of species found this place can not be beat ... plus you know if your lucky you can hear a rock band practicing LOL
Ha ha yeah that was cool. Who knew we’d have live music while Rockhounding! Very different from Grafton but yeah it’s a neat spot. Thanks for taking me out there
I know I’m late to the party but when I saw a road cut fossil hunt I had to save this for later. So many great fossils. Wow There’s nothing I can say without sounding like a broken record. Lol. But you had a hay day for sure. If you need any help identifying your finds feel free to hit me up
I think I got the basic species on everything I’m still curious about those one pieces. Not sure if they are partial trilobite cephalons brachiopods or something else
@@dustinfindsrocks sweet. Sounds good man. You really did find some nice stuff so it should be pretty easy to get specific info on each piece if you wanted to.
Can someone send me the coordinates in a private message, I am a local Missourian and a geology student at university. Would love to find some samples for my private collection
I’m sorry I don’t have exact coordinates but it’s highway M in Jefferson county west from highway 21 about 5 miles maybe on M from 21. You’ll see the road cuts there’s a pretty large section I think. Lots of good fossils at road cuts in Fenton nearby also
Nice little mixed plates. Cool to have trilobites in there too. That was awesome to find the bryazoans loose like that as well. Sweet, sweet spot!

That is an amazing amount of fossils! And in such great condition ❤. Thanks for sharing!

I’m not sure exactly where we were. A couple miles west from 21. I’m glad you found some cool stuff!
@@dustinfindsrocks we drove west from I55, and other than that I couldn’t say exactly where we were either, lol!
We just came down from highway. My son is very happy with his finds 😊
Thank you for the close ups! I love the detail ❣️
You guys always find cool stuff! Love the hats! 😉
Yeah we didn’t plan on matching 😅 that sun is no joke though! 😘😘😘
Check out Jeff's channel everyone! www.youtube.com/@huntingrocks
Well done video! Love the close ups with descriptions at the end.
Thank you 😊
You and Jeff keep giving me fossil envy 😜😜😜 I go out looking for fossils and all i seem to find are agates 🤣😂🤣 Awesome finds, thanks for sharing ✌😎✌
Nothing wrong with agates! The fossils are out there! 👀
Those brqchiopods are really well preserved! Great finds indeed. 😊

Fossil envy here! Amazing! that plate is cool
Thank you 😊 yeah it’s a neat spot
Neat site! You guys should take Wild Kyle there sometime. He loves fossils.
Agreed
Great spot! I miss that roadcut.
It’s really cool! The fossils there are so abundant!!! Next time you’re in the area let me know. I’d love to check it out with your expertise.

Best place ever! I NEED to get down there
The place we just checked out nearby in Fenton is awesome too

Yeah! I thought the same! Glad we didn’t have to get close to the road at all
Those are really cool. How far is this place from Haunted Ridge?
This is probably about a 45 minute drive north from Haunted Ridge

@ 4:25 what is the fossil on the right side of the rock you are holding? I find these all over my backyard in Oakville MO
Fact: I always binge watch ur Missouri vids before every trip. 😅 Might have to stop here.
It’s a cool spot man. Few miles west on hwy M from 21.
You're finds are absolutely amazing! I'm always surprised at what you can find. What do you do with all the extras? Do you store them or sell them?
I’ve sold a few on Facebook but I’m accumulating a lot. I’m thinking about maybe trying to start a website or Etsy shop or something

This isn’t too far from where I live (Fredericktown). I’ll have to take my son up there.
I love fossils!
I know there’s some good road cuts for fossils around Springfield. Let me know if you check it out 👍🏻
@@dustinfindsrocks yeah i think north and south of town theres some exsposed fossil beds
What mile marker is that? I live off old M!
Oh man I’m not sure 🤔 it was a few miles west of 21 I think
