    As a former d1 coach, I 100% agree with this video. I remember making a conscious effort to teach my players how to "play" tennis and not just hit balls. I have very specific templates that I use to help the players see the court like a gameboard for decision-making. I've had many of my players, one being a D1 National Champion, tell me that they use one specific template throughout their careers to help them tactically understand their play.
    You are on to something very important for teaching players how to play. I can't wait to watch all your videos.
    Thank you

      K, this is an awesome comment to read! You know, as part of my channel I look to interview accomplished coaches and talk about tennis strategy + tactics podcast style. I recently did an interview with a guy who coached Robin Soderling and Monica Seles - Sounds like you have some cool experiences! Would you be interested in doing one of these with me? I'd love to highlight your perspective and give you the chance to share your experience with the channel!! 👀

    finally something about tennis strategy. 99% of videos are about technique. The only resourse of tennis tactics I know is the wnning ugly book. One thing tho, I think it would be great to analyze videos of amateur matches aswell. Its a completely different game since there limited possibilities of strategies because of technique

    • @tennistactics
      @tennistactics  8 месяцев назад +2

      I am planning on doing that for sure!! I tactually think ametuer tactics are sometimes more interesting because you see more of a variety. The pros have more in common than they have different, but recreational players use wildly different strategies sometimes. Anyway - keep an eye on the channel. I'm currently working on this! 🫡

    • @LaSalviaBodysurf
      @LaSalviaBodysurf 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@tennistactics exactly! I agree! For example everyone talks about serve +1 forehand and thats great for pro players that have amazing serve and fh. This works for every pro. But im 5’7 and forehand is my bad shot, I have good bh with good angles so serve +1 forehand doesnt work for me. Amateur strategies are very different and varies so much. Looking forward for more content!

    • @tennistactics

      @@LaSalviaBodysurf I had an idea - I would love to have players film their matches using swingvision and then I could make a video analyzing the tactics - do you think people would be up for that?
      I could remove the names and just list the UTRs to give everyone more useful context. What do you think?

    • @LaSalviaBodysurf
      @LaSalviaBodysurf 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@tennistactics I think that would be very helpful !! I dont know if that would attract more views for you than using pro players name on the thumbnail tho. But Im pretty sure it would be more helpful if someone is analyzing my match ( or some amateur match that people actually have flaws ) saying what I could have done better than telling what Federer does right. Again, dont know if that would be ideal for growing the channel, good luck!

    Yes Im agree with you the technique is created from age from age of 3 up to age of 10-11 y.o. { the most complicated and hard to be done } that why all "champions creating" academy across the world like to work with the players from 12 y.o. and up ..... 😉

    • @tennistactics
      @tennistactics  9 месяцев назад +1

      And honestly that’s where the really specialized knowledge of how to win tennis matches comes in, instead oh just how to play.

  • @ReidVV
    @ReidVV 9 месяцев назад +3

    This is going to sound rude, but it's not meant to be. Great ideas, but you talk too much and show too little. Some visual examples, even if its just lines drawn on the court diagram, your points would be more clear.

    • @tennistactics
      @tennistactics  9 месяцев назад +3

      Nope! Not rude - you are totally right! haha This was my earliest video I posted a couple weeks ago, but in my more recent ones I have been trying to do exactly what you are saying!
      I have been asking everyone for feedback though - I'd love to hear what you think about the more recent ones or if I should still keep going further in that direction!! I think I have world class ideas, but am trying to develop a world class delivery as well!
