      glad to hear you mention that, I am so weary of all the you tubers who turn us into an audience for their awful music and cutesy jokes ... This presentation is a class act, thanx for excellent teaching and resource. I do have a question, what is french wire? I will go to your website and see if I can figure it out. Excellent job!

    I have made the eyeglass necklace before and I have found the stringing material cuts through the rubber part pretty easy so I put wire Guardians on it seems to work wonderful now.

    Does anyone know how or have the tools to repair one of the little rubber ends for the eyeglass holders? The round rubber piece to my eyeglasses lost the middle metal part- I have another metal part just like it but I can’t figure out how to get tge rubber loop through the tiny metal loop!

    • @leahwyckoff4791
      @leahwyckoff4791 3 года назад +1

      Hi Leslie! Your best bet is simply using a pair of chain nose pliers and trying to feed it through... I'm not sure how easy (or possible) it will be as they are generally on their quite tight SO they don't come off...worst case, you may have to re-make your eyeglass chain with a brand new one.

    You don’t show the crimp covers in the supplies list. What size covers would we need.

    • @EurekaCrystalBeads
      @EurekaCrystalBeads 3 года назад +1

      Hi Peggy! Sorry for the oversight! You can use 3mm or 4mm crimp covers for the 2mm crimps. We offer them in sets too: www.eurekacrystalbeads.com/beadsmith-2mm-crimp-tubes-3mm-crimp-covers-set-silver-plated/ or www.eurekacrystalbeads.com/beadsmith-2mm-crimp-tubes-4mm-crimp-covers-set-silver-plated/ Thanks for watching!

    I have made several of these but I don't like the rubber or silicone fastener that holds the glasses. It seems to stretch out and the glasses fall off. A friend bought me a commercial one that had a different kind of fastener it was almost like a square in a hard rubber. It worked so much better but I cannot find it anywhere I thought you maybe could find them. Thank you.

    • @EurekaCrystalBeads

      Hi Lorene! Thanks for your comment. I am not sure if I have ever seen that type of fastener but I will keep an eye out! :)

      @@EurekaCrystalBeads I bought it in a jewelry supply house many years ago they are great but the black rubber on them gets brittle and breaks. Check out the major supply houses for costume jewelry, I cant remember the name.

    Do you think a wire guard would look professional if I don’t have French wire?

    • @EurekaCrystalBeads
      @EurekaCrystalBeads Год назад

      Yes, go for it! If it's too wide apart in the bottom part, pinch it slightly with pliers or your hands. Wire guards look great, too!

  • @meganhopkins9788
    @meganhopkins9788 Год назад

    The wire you used: what mm is that? And where do I find french wire with a hole in the middle?

    • @EurekaCrystalBeads
      @EurekaCrystalBeads Год назад

      Hi! For the jewelry wire, use BEADING WIRE 30 Ft Soft Flex Satin Silver FINE .014" 21 Strands, and when it comes to French wire, all of them are hollow, but for this project we used: FRENCH WIRE Medium 14" Silver Color which is 0.9mm thick (this is the standard mid-thickness). If you click the link in the description, the exact wire as well as the French wire are listed if you scroll down a bit so you can read more about them. :) Hope this is of help!

    One thing you didn't think of is when the rubber grips wear out, break or dry up, they cannot be changed, rendering the chain useless.
