Atarashi Gakko dropped a snippet and then dropped the full song a day later. literally the OPPOSITE of Playboi Carti😆 props to them for making a banger just for this movie.
While I totally understand why Netflix chose to animate this in 2D over 3D (Baki style is more recognisable/the bigger franchise, its easier and cheaper to animate the Kengan characters in 2D vs modelling 8-9 new CG rigs for the Baki characters to only be used for one 80 minute special), I think everyone was universally disappointed by the fact that the special didn't do justice to the respective strengths of the two franchises. It wasn't choreographed or animated as tightly and smartly as Kengan was, and the feats and matches didnt reach the wonderful levels of absurd bullshit that Baki is famous for. Hell, even the time was used fairly inefficiently, since it took 20mins to make it to the first of the three fights and barring the Raian Vs Jack fight, they all felt fairly devoid of stakes or build-up. This whole special felt like it was crying out for an extra 40mins of screentime to built hype for the matches or another 6-7 months in the oven so the animators actually had enough time to work on this without being forced to recycle animation on multiple occasions.
Completely true, the fights in this special felt VERY held back from what could've been really brutal, especially the Jack Hanma vs Raian Kure fight that was (in my opinion) the best ever!
I’m not gonna lie the movie was actually pretty good. I kind of wish they used Kengen’s art style but either way they still did a good job in my opinion and this song is banger💯💯💯

Same but I would rather have the fights be like kengan ashura but I'm not a big fan of cgi style animation in general but I do make an exception for kengan ashura because the fights are just epic so if they make a series out of this it would give them more time to make the fights a lot better I want the art style of baki but what the fighting style of King and Nostra King and Austria's one of my favorite animes because the fights are so impactful and heavy hitting but that's just my two cents
1:06 I just realized that this Kanoh already has a forehead scar from his fight with Kuroki in the semifinal of the KAT Also, while this crossover used Baki animation style, I hope the next one would use the Kengan one (if there were any crossover again in the future). Kengan animation style has better movement and choreography expression
It just sounds like Atarashii Gakko. But you have to see them on video. Their dance moves are hilarious and Suzuka is the most confident performer I've ever seen. On all the fan cam videos she's climbing onto fences and into the crowd.
The problem with these series is that fights are cut with flashbacks and explanations. It's way too much. I want to see the fight not the background story. It's too bad really
The trailers and the slide show were an absolute 10 but the fighting wasn't like baki or kengen is was very slow and didn't give off that energy that i usually get from baki fights
